Sorry to hear about the continuing quality issues with the Mint. After years of getting not so great coins, my three were flawless to the naked eye. My 3 were extra shiny, brilliant and beautiful. In my eyes all are 70+.

I was beginning to think I was the only one that got bad quality coins. I had 25 different shipments of these and had the same problems on every order. Hazings, Pits in the background and a lot of foreign material inside holders.
Out of the 3 I bought, one had scratches, one had sprocket marks along the obverse, and one looked perfect. 1 out of 3 aint bad. However, I got a couple Congrats and those actually looked stunning, I couldn't find any imperfections.
You just never know when you're going to get a perfect coin or just something mediocre.

Do Congratulation sets need to be sent in sealed boxes to be graded by PCGS? I remember something being mentioned that for NGC they need to be. Thanks
If you want the "congratulation set" designation, yes.
Unless you submit in a sealed box from the Mint, PCGS cannot distinguish your coin from the individual coin released the same day (i.e., 22EA).

Yes Sealed only if you’re wanting a FS or ER designation. 😉🙀🦫
Edit to add: Sealed box not necessary for “congratulations set “ label, just original packaging.
Maybe I am wrong. (It would not be the first time.)
I always thought that PCGS wanted a sealed box from the Mint in order to issue a 'congratulations set' label.
Forgive my ignorance, I have never purchased one. Is the ASE sealed within the presentation folder, or is it removable?
Edited to Add:
FWIW, @OLC was right. At NGC, "(t)he Congratulations Set must be submitted in the sealed original Mint shipping box to receive the set designation." Reference
I’m not positive but I’m fairly certain that the OGP is good 😊 The coin is sealed into the packaging and the packaging is blister pack sealed with plastic wrap. 😉🙀🦫
Wow, Clear as mud. I know you don't need a sealed box for First Strike designation if you send in within the first 30 days. I figured as long as I kept coin in original Congratulation set folder I was good. Just wanted to be for sure before I started opening. I know NGC wants it in sealed box and they make it very clear on their website. I just can't find anything on PCGS website that says it has to be in sealed box. I have sent in before and it wasn't required. I just wanted to be sure nothing had changed.
Generally, sealed us box is required for special designations on sets
Sealed us mint boxes are required for First Strike if the coin was released in a previous set
If the coin was not released previously, and not in a special set, no need to send in sealed us mint box if sent in prior to the FS cutoff.
Any First Strike designation sent in after the FS deadline, must be sent in a sealed us mint box.

for the 2022 ASE's, the Congratulations set is REQUIRED to be sent in to PCGS in a sealed US Mint box to get the Congrats Set Designation because the ASE was released seperatly.

If the 'congratulations set' designation is important to you, I suggest going to the source - call PCGS and confirm their requirements BEFORE opening the box from the Mint.
If you do call PCGS, please consider posting their response here. It could help other forum members with the same question.
there is no question about it. if you want the congratulations designation on the 2022 ASE, it MUST be sent in, in the original US Mint box. Otherwise, there is no way to verify it came from the set.

I'm with you on this. It would be nearly impossible to take the silver eagle out of the packaging and sub another one in without it being noticed but I know NGC requires it because it is on there website. It is not specifically spelled out anywhere on PCGS site that I can find. I have emailed PCGS to see what they say.

While the forum is a good source of information, if you are going to submit something it is best to contact the TPG you are sending to to verify their current requirements as they are always subject to change.

He said that sealed 'congratulation set' packaging was not adequate. If you want the 'congratulation set' designation on the label, it HAS TO BE submitted to PCGS in a sealed box from the Mint.

Yes, a lot of them. I still have dozens of OGP from the first year of issue. All you need to do is pop the capsule top off and you can swap coins. It’s not “blister pack” unless they changed designs. All my sets for 2022 so far went to PCGS and I didn’t get a chance to look at them

Interesting ... because when we did the "data available" check for the W-proof on sale day, I could swore I saw values over 40K.
My last post did not include any information on the 2022-W Proof coin.
The presented enrollment figures are for pending releases, and are subject to change as customers adjust their existing enrollments. Note the reference date of 4/12/22.
FWIW, I just checked the next ASE release, 22EG on 06/01/22, and it appears that existing enrollments can still be modified (i.e., increased or decreased).
Also, the 'product page' for 22EG, the 2022-W Unc. ASE, has been updated.

I was not following along initially with the enrollments (nor have one) on the 22EG (1oz Uncirculated ASE) - was there a limit on the enrollments? Can enrollments be increased to 100, as was able to be done with the prior W-Proof ASE's? I see from your link that the household limit is three (but I don't think that applies to enrollments??).

As I understand it, the "household order limit" does not apply to enrollments.
Like @HATTRICK pointed out, the Mint has the right to change limits, both HHL and enrollment.
What am I missing? Why would anyone be interested in increasing enrollment. They are making so many more this year with the trays. These were selling for less than mint issue price last year within a week or two of issue date. I am planning on cancelling my enrollment unless someone enlightens me.
I’m not sure I agree that these are or we’re selling for less than issue price.
Also, there’s plenty of sellers who are happy with getting $99 for a $73 ase. That’s a reasonable profit. 😉🙀🦫
