Building a Short Set (1940-1945) of Mercury's - Show me yours...

I've been in love with the Winged Liberty since I was a kid, but never got around to really collecting them. So, after some 60+ years I thought I'd start with the 1940-1945 Short Set. Here's my first addition to the set, please share yours.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Nice start with a ms67.

Thanks Bob, me like...much!!!
Just picked up last night from GC. Via a forum member if my detective work is correct. I think it’s pretty nice. It’s not a + but is beaned.
Very beautiful coins on here and loving all of them beauties.
Don't have any slabbed ones per se other than an a 1936-D by SEGS which seemed like a slightly rotated die and a 1916-D in AG 3.
Was rather impatient while filling my Dansco and it was more of a rush job because of wanting to get it done as cheap and quickly as possible before moving on to the next project.
Here's a supposedly MS 65 by SEGS which I hope to crack out and send to our hosts and a few samples in the raw from the Dansco, which I would love to get the consensus on as to whether it makes sense to get slabbed or not (they all look better in hand than in pics because my photography skills suck and thanks in advance).

1945 P set I created from cherry picked coins over the years. None graded, but I think the dime is the best coin here...!

Not the best picture but you get the idea.

Collector, occasional seller
Recently picked up this beauty for my Winged Liberty collection as I have been working on the set for years. Only at 75% complete, but going FB is my priority.
I bought this set at the Lakeland Collectorama show.
Great posts all, thank you for sharing some real beauties.
I used to attend this show in Lakeland when I lived in Orlando area. You could find some good stuff at this small show. It would also, at times, coincide with the wrestling tournament. Good stuff there too.
Merc dimes are in my top 2 for beautiful 20th century US coins, along with Walkers. Too bad they aren't bigger.
I was not a big fan of the wrestling tournament. It made parking a lot harder.
The Mercury dime is one of the silver trilogy (dime, quarter, half) that made up the coins of my youth. All pocket change... and now revered collectibles. Beautiful coins and sets in this thread. Cheers, RickO
@lablover Nice '45-S! I'm also building a Mercury short set, but it's raw and not as nice as yours.
U.S. Type Set
I have always liked the Capital holders. They display well.

Once again, some really sweet Mercury's. Cheers to all who've shared!!!
A very sharp example.
Those are some beauties! My 40's set of walkers is about a third of the way done. I just got this one:

Another one I've posted on here before:
I bought this one just because the holder matched this Walker. I'm going to find a 1943 steel cent, Washington quarter and Jefferson nickel in the same fatty holders.
Here's another addition to the set. Sent for cross to PCGS, should know soon, she's in grading now...
One of only TWO Mercs that I have and the only one from the Short Set.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

I need a tutorial on how to post photos from my registry set! I tried & tried to do the drag & drop, but it wouldn't work.

My suggestion...Make 'em special in some way.
Bought this one raw a long time ago from my local B&M Dealer. He has been gone for over 29 years now. I miss him.
First time, Green Bean.

Graded before the + Grade was in effect.
I may resubmit someday.
Even better in hand.
I just stained my pants...
Sweet Micro S!!!
Just made three Mercury's in MS67+ for the set: 1944 MS67+, 1945 MS67+ and 1943-S MS67+. Will post images once the TrueViews are finished.
Some lovely examples so far.

I have informally been building this set as part of the greater complete set. The earlier Mercury’s are not all Unc and most are housed in a Dansco. Have a handful that are slabbed. Not all are imaged yet. Maybe I’ll get to that one of these days. Here are some anyways.

Put the set together years ago in PCGS Rattlers. 45P FB is a very expensive coin and I don't have that one.
Here is my set in the registry.

Thanks again to all who have posted, I've enjoyed seeing and hearing about the Mercury's you have. It's much appreciated!

I only own two slabbed Mercs, coincidentally, they are both 1940-S. Here’s the PCGS one:
