Got these back from SGC today, love how vintage hockey looks in these holders. A few headscratchers that I won't post, and disappointed with the Bonds. I've looked at quite a few 87 OPC bonds and was surprised with the 6. But not selling it so at this point it doesn't really matter, will go to PSA when subs are reasonable again:

Thanks! Got it in a binder set last year along with a run of very nice clean 80s OPC hockey sets. Hope PSA opens up to lower cost subs, have tons of cards ready to go!
Upgraded from a 6. I really like how clean the printing is on this one. Always seems to be some flaw makes it lose eye appeal so I grabbed this one.

Great stuff as usual folks. Nice to see such a wide assortment of items that people collect.
Slow going here but found a few new items to add.
1st up from our favorite discount store Marden's some new vinyl. You have to look everywhere in these stores as no rhyme or reason on how they place things on the shelf.
Queen - Greatest Hits for $12.99 and has sold on eBay for an average of $40 with some hitting $50 to $70.
Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody (The Original Soundtrack) $9.99 and seems to be averaging $30 to $40.
Bee Gees – Timeless (The All-Time Greatest Hits). Has horrible reviews on Discogs (bad sound) but also selling in the $30 to $40 range.
They had a bunch of vinyl this time (Lady Ga Ga, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift etc/20 or so different artists/albums) with most going for really good prices on the secondary market but I tend to stick to things I would personally listen to. Would be great if I was someone that resells but not my thing so left them there.
I also don't usually think of the investment side of what I collect but the new vinyl I will be leaving sealed for now. Just more junk to pass on to my children at some point in the future.
And picked this up from eBay for under $5 shipped.
Nice clean condition and will look nice in a frame. The mailer it was sent in somewhere along the way was opened before it got here. Maybe someone at the PO got curious, ripped into it and seeing it was the Village People thought better of taking it. Not like they could brag this item up if they took it. Hey bud, whatcha swipe this time? Pulls out the RARE Village People sheet music and proceeds to be the butt of jokes going forward. Guess I shouldn't laugh though as I did actually spend money on it.
And file this under the really, you bought this category.
Amazon Warehouse Used-Like New with damaged packaging. It's brand new. Only damage I see to packaging is sticker removal remains on the back of the plastic and some creasing on the thin cardboard picture insert. For $4.10 it's just a cheap item for the wrestling collection. And yes, I know I'm weird, but aren't most people who collect things?
@ScoobyDoo2 said: @uffdah......I tried getting a PSA 10 you don't have and it looks like your about on the doorstep of this one as well......u are impossible!!
My self sub 9. After I got it. I had to get all the Topps Reggie’s

Interesting stuff. Do you know if the Village People album was released with different covers? I ask because it states:
"Recorded by the VILLIAGE PEOPLE..." (Village is misspelled or everyone else is misspelling it!).
Have had a few Mets Rooks in the past and have sold all including a few Milton Bradley’s as this one is and was advertised as such even though not on flip. Was thinking about getting another and going through the 7’s and 8’s and wanted something different. This one came up and I actually love the white line, the color is bold and bright, the bright yellow back as well confirms it is a MB. It would likely cross as a 4-5 MC so what’s the point even though I don’t think I have another SGC card. Will leave it like it is. Nice to see the bold image and the fact it was part of a board game and survived and scratching the itch for me.

Good catch on that. I didn't even realize it so I'm officially blind.
What is weird is the choice of picture as that is the cover image of the album
which doesn't have that song on it.
There is a UK release of the sheet music with proper album art and also correct spelling.
(Borrowed image from eBay)
Covers tend to be pretty much the same worldwide with differences with spelling of various words (depending on the country), different manufacturer labels as well and occasionally some variations of the covers like these (borrowed from Discogs)
1st album 1st pressings have singer Victor Willis listed as lip singer and was corrected to lead singer on later releases (don't have this one).
Release from France (don't have).
South Africa (don't have)
Then lots of label variations, different pressings/plants. Makes it interesting collecting and could get very expensive trying to hunt down the foreign releases as shipping is way more than what the record is worth (for me anyway) so I keep a lookout for the odd ones that have already made it to our shores.

Hey dan89,
Pretty Cool on your 68 Ryan -- Oh Yeah!
Thrilled to add these two cards to my vintage Star Wars collections. These are the U.K. Versions of this card printed in Ireland. I’ll be sending these in to PSA when the backlog settles.
“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then is not an act but a habit.” -Aristotle
Probably my favorite non-MJ card from the signed 86 fleer set I am building (9 left!). Toney was so truly underrated and his autograph is probably one of the toughest from the 80s (and I don't believe there are any certified autographs of him).
I have always wanted this card since it is such an iconic card in the sports card hobby...but was waiting for the right one to come along in a PSA-9 holder. I can not afford a PSA-10...so a strong PSA-9 will have to suffice. Also...it is my first and will probably be my only basketball card in my collection...so it seems appropriate to own the Rookie Card of the GOAT in professional basketball.
The card checks a few boxes important for eye appeal and justifying paying in excess of recent sales for the assigned grade:
eye popping color, dead centered in both directions, and perfect registration (ink colors align so that the word "Chicago" on the uniform is sharp, not fuzzy as well as the absence of magenta color along his upper arm...the presence of which is indicative of the inks not aligning properly during the printing process). Very happy to add it to my collection despite paying above the going price for a PSA-9...but this is not a normal PSA-9! Heritage stated in the description that it is a strong example...and I would have to agree with that assessment!
I will scan the card myself and post again when I have the card in hand. I can not wait for the GOAT to arrive!

From a fun obscure set, the 1960 Sports Pix Premiums were small (8x10) or large (8.5x11.5) paper posters that featured interesting photos of some of the brightest stars in sports, both active and retired. I believe they had ads in some of the sports publications of the day and were a (semi) short lived, mail order operation. Despite their brevity, they seemed to get a lot of major sports stars into the set and I just happen to love any shot of this man smiling. Some minor creasing and stains but still a very presentable example of a tougher to find item.

im not an SGC guy, but couldn't pass these up. the auto on the Wade is supposed to be bright blue, this one has obviously faded black over time. This one is /70 and I own the /3 version and looking to complete the run. Card also has a front crease, hence the grade. I was able to grab another one raw with a better auto right after this purchase but since these are so hard to find so ill be happy with both. The Melo I got for what I think is a great price, considering raw versions are asking similar to what I paid for an SGC 9 version. Acetate cards can be tough and these were prone to edge chipping/peeling.
