In other news I was going to put $300 on Green Bay Money Line when they were +1 Dogs, had to drive home to NH before I could put the bet in and saw the like jumped to +7 Green Bay, then Ofcourse I found out about Rodgers. At Green Bay +7.5 I kinda like them even with Love starting. What do you think?

Arizona at home vs a Pack with no Rodgers and Arizona coming off a loss now motivated, I believe they (AZ) will easily cover that 7.5. Just my humble opinion. I took GB in my picks this week but that was before Rodgers covid news so I gotta suck it up on that one now since it's already posted. lol

Sorry Perk, I don't know what I was looking at. lol Playing devil's advocate here, KC is in a funk obviously but they are hard to pick against at home for me. You would think they are due for a big win, and vs a no Rodgers Pack could be that recipe they need. And they are getting 7.5.

there are other surprises and I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not doing too good with the early games as everybody who I thought would win seems to have lost. right now I'm 3-5 while The Ravens head to OT.
ok fellas here's the deal. i don't mind doing this, but all i ask is that you guys try to make this as seamless as possible for me. i said yesterday morning that i don't mind picks being changed at any time prior to kickoff, but please take a few seconds of your day to let me know that you've done so. a number of participants are editing their weekly picks posts multiple times without me being aware of it. a 10-second post or private message letting me know what you've done is all i need -- and i don't think that's asking too much.
what is happening is that picks are coming in, and when i see them i input them into a spreadsheet. if i'm not aware that changes have been made, then obviously said changes won't be reflected when i reveal everyone's selections. i'd rather not have to go back and look at everyone's picks 15 times to see if there have been any edits, as i actually have better things to do with my time than that. so kindly let me know if/when that happens.
and if you guys would really like to make my life easier, take it a step further and follow the weekly schedule that i post from top to bottom. and make your picks the city name, not the team name. may sound like i'm nitpicking, but it will greatly assist me and therefore lessen the chances of a faux pas. when you go through 15 or so picks for 11 people on a weekly basis and things are out of order and there's a mixture of city names and team names, it requires me to double and triple check for any errors and by the time i'm done my head is spinning like a top.

This is a thankless task that galaxy27 has been kind enough to volunteer his time and expertise to accommodate us. No need to jerk this guy around with ongoing changes as you hear or read of whatever you think will impact your winning or losing a game.
To respect Peter's time (I'm sure he has a life waaaaaaay beyond this), how about we all agree to have pics in NLT noon Saturday, (other than Thurs night's game), this way he can put this thing to bed and not constantly chase changes.

a participant messaged me asking where all of the pertinent info (standings, picks, schedule) can be found. it is all kept in the very first post i made in this thread. so if you ever see me post something like "week 9 standings" or "week 10 schedule," that's basically my way of saying that i edited the initial post to include this updated info. just scroll to the very top to find it. sorry for the confusion.
a few other nuggets....
kindly keep up with your record on a week-by-week basis. don't rely solely on me, because the chances of a mistake happening from now until the end of the season are rather high. be my safety net.
this is going to be a very trying week for me. i'm going to the PGA tour stop here in Houston all 4 days starting on Thursday, so the amount of time i will be able to allocate to this contest will be limited. i will do my very best.
and finally, apparently i'm creating superfluous confusion with the names i'm calling myself. i consider myself the game show host, thus i've been jokingly referring to myself throughout this thread as Wink Martindale...........Bob Eubanks..........Gene Rayburn.............Pat Sajak................Richard Dawson.................and the latest name (Peter Tomarken) was the host of my all-time fav game show (Press Your Luck). so if you want to call me any of those names, as some of you have in private, that's perfectly fine. or if you want to call me something like asshat, that's cool too. but just know that my real first name is Stephen.

you've got to be kidding me - Dolphins beat the Raisins
this is the problem Teams are discovering in the Age Of The Quarterback where there's no balance on offense and the entire success is shouldered by one person. I have harped on this all season and before. all it takes is one game like this in the Copy-Cat League for a Team to be exposed like last night: the Dolphins packed the Line of Scrimmage with 7-8 players which left no running lanes, then they dropped 2-3 at the snap into coverage. it confused and panicked Lamar Jackson and the result was sacks and erratic passing.
Harbaugh was outcoached, Jackson was outplayed by Taglovailoa and Wink Martindale was schooled on defensive scheming and how to beat his blown coverages, a total Win by Miami.
I was surprised at the half but then settled in and enjoyed the conclusion beatdown, especially the shots of Harbaugh on the sideline not having a clue about what to do, helpless.
