the way the games have gone this season I gave up a long time ago, maybe 5-6 weeks. the standings are funny, after 13 weeks I'm 17 games back and have easily lost more than that with OT games and last second Field Goals. there is no success tied to a Team's record, who the favorite is or who the Home Team is. as someone else said, it's come down to little more than a coin-flip when picking Teams but I haven't resorted to that yet.
I can't be alone in this thinking, but almost every week I look at the schedule and feel pretty good about my chances, then I wake up on Tuesday and see I went 6-8. my only hope is a race to the bottom with Brick.
i'd be remiss if i didn't mention something. this is a very momentous occasion. since i've been a member of CU i can't recall a single time when Brick dished out an LOL, but it happened this morning ๐๐ป
after almost 10 years of being a member on here i feel like the only thing i have left to accomplish is to make Brick laugh at something i said, but to this point i don't think it has ever happened. soooo many times i have thought to myself, "man that was funny, why didn't Brick laugh?"
then here comes MCMLVTopps with Baltimore Colts on the brain this week and pulls off the unthinkable when he wasn't even trying to be funny. that is so wrong on so many levels.

Just because I don't LOL doesn't mean I don't have a wry smile on occasion.
I was happy to accommodate you and add some humor to your world. Not only did I pick the Baltimore Colts (also known as Ravens sometimes) to win, I doubled down and insisted that's what I sent in. Needless to say, my Colts pick turned into a loser, but just by a little bit. Hey, if Perkdog can call Tampa, Tompa, I can call the Ravens Colts, as long as galaxy27 gets it right.

Brick, something to think about: as bad as our records look, over the course of a 17 game season they amount to picking one loss more than the winner each week.
The winner should take over for the resident 'so called expert' on the John boy and Billy show.
last week the expert they bring in had a record of 119-74 and I noticed that would have been
about average for this board.
How will Double D handle the pressure the last four weeks of the season?
Will he remain calm, cool, and collected.
Or will he fold under the pressure and start thinking the whole world is out to get him and
quite frankly, will it look like he hasn't showered the last month of the season?
I will be riveted to this board to see how this contest turns out.
And Double D you can tell I think highly of you because it took a long time for me to do
the above post because my computer is so freaking slow. Definitely getting myself new computer for Xmas.
Hang in there and be the Casablanca Bogey!

Double Ds Grand Prize, should he end up holding the top spot.
However, should any contestant other than DD hit the top spot, this gem awaits him:
Nice 57 Vette!
Yes it is!! Some Corvette enthusiasts consider the 1957 to be the perfect Corvette year. I think this one is as close to perfection as you'll find. If I had this one, I think I'd spend some sweet time with weekend cruising and even just sitting nearby looking at it. I once had a 1969 and a 1973, there is something magical about driving those cars, I guess its the power at your foot, and the mellow rumble of the mufflers. You just feel good driving one, tunes cranked up, wind and sun in your face...beautiful thing!!
i think CU is trying to send us both to the funny farm. your message with your picks vanished into thin air. i never did a thing. kindly send them to me again when you get a chance
strike that, @MCMLVTopps.......i found them. our convo about your picks was nowhere to be found a few hours ago, but i logged just now and voila -- there it was. funny farm here i come
all of the Thursday night picks are in, and keets is looking to pick up a game on the entire field by virtue of him being the only participant to select the Chargers

Was your 69 a big block 427? I love the early C3's! Always wanted a code 900 Tuxedo Black 68 but very few were made, to find an actual numbers matching code 900 68 is like searching for a unicorn! Almost bought one from a police officer in Idaho about 15 years ago but at the time I thought him asking 20K was a little steep, that was one I wish I could have back! Can't find a decent 68 for under 30K now if you're lucky. I now just have an "07, used to have an 82 but we actually donated it to the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green about 10 years ago. It was a bit on the rare side and they actually needed that year for their collection, we love that museum!
