Count me as one who prefers the on field action shots over head shots that dominated the 1960s card designs.
Also, whats not to love about a card like this one?
how many cars actually appear on baseball cards out there? cant be many...
As a fan of vintage cars, I like this card. I cant remember the year but I belive there is a Jim Brown card with a pink Cadillac - maybe a Philadelphia Gum card.
...which Muppets do you think seem like the type to collect cards?
If Oscar the Grouch was able to scour the dumps for cards that moms threw away over the years, then I am betting that dude is sitting on a gold mine. And I'd bet that the two grumpy dudes in the balcony seats probably have some tobacco cards stashed away in a drawer somewhere.
Todd Tobias - Grateful Collector - I focus on autographed American Football League sets, Fleer & Topps, 1960-1969, and lacrosse cards.

Changing one name makes this something merely overheard at the National.
Funny?
Statler and Waldorf are the crusty old balcony muppets.
Gonzo seems like he’d be into collecting.
PS - WTF has happened to my life?

i crashed their loge at a show and tried. they heckled me so bad and questioned if i was seriously asking a couple of old socks for an autograph. i immediately left the venue embarrassed and sobbing. i swore off the muppets show for eternity.

let me try to talk you off the ledge, I have graded 4 of the known 10's of this card. I still have a 9 and have about 8 more at psa now as it is one of my favorite cards. I think the top left corner, centering t/b and l/r are slightly off, plus a smudge on the all star logo, I think they got this one right + a ding on the back top border I saw after,
Oaksey, I have bought at least one of those 10's from you...I've rifled through a few of the 10's...my 9 still beats 'em. The pink plate is slippery and black ink can be a bitch on this card, as you know. Snow, fog, spray...little boogers of purple on the colored frame...it's a real pain in the ass, Lol!

I just purchased this “good 9” for $359. For me, this is an iconic card that represents all the Reggie Yankees greatness from the late seventies. And that post-swing stance!
THAT is a great '78 Reggie!!!

This thread is so much better now. Started off rather shakey but has come around. Those are some great Reggies. I reallly like the 78s! Here is my unsearched stash of 78 Nettles who was my favorite at the time. I remember being SO VERY disappointed that he didn't have the AS Badge! LOL Heck, he did hit 37 HRs that year which was all I really paid attention to as a kid. I think I was in 4th grade? I have the same for Hunter and Munson. I obviously was a Yankees fan back in those good ole days. It's funny because in 75, 76 I loved the Oakland A's and especially Catfish. Once Catfish went to the Yankees, I switched to them. I grew up in Oklahoma and truly thought the A's were our home team. LOL No wonder my Dad used to laugh out loud when I asked him if we could go see them play.

1964 Philadelphia....Jim Brown's caddy in the background of several Cleveland Browns player's pics... (including JB).
