Got my first 2021 Topps Rookie Cup Winner back from a signing. Man I'm ready to have the gates open back up to submit cards.
And as a teenager in the 80s I love love love the posters from those days. The Doc/Murph stickball poster, the Murphy Power Alley, and this one (among others). I bought the poster off Ebay and just got it back from a private signing.

Congrats on finishing your HOF set! Working on a few myself and know how hard those last few are sometimes to get. Must feel great to finish one and look through it with pride. Enjoy your ‘83s.

Nice pickup! As you know it is a pop 2 and here is the other
Nice pair! Those 95 studio base are tough to find.
Very tough. Like Jason said, it's a pop 2. I've been chasing one for what seems like decades. The gold parallel, on the other hand, is a pop 33 in PSA 10

A few months ago I started selling a few things on COMC. I used to cash to add a few things to my cart and about a month and a half ago requested shipment.
~This guy is coming into his greatness this season....another two home run day for him today. Love me some Heritage Chrome Refractors in general. ~just 22 years old.
My 1964 Stand-up pack finally arrived today. I picked up six cards from a guy that is breaking up a 1961 Nu-Card Scoops set. Some of these are very low pop in PSA 9. #442 is pop 8, 464 is pop 5 and 479 is pop 11. I still need 4 cards to complete the set in PSA 9 or higher.

I have to agree, nice card. I am not sure why I continue to purchase Heritage. I really dislike the cheap cards but love the refractors. I might have to give up on the packs and just focus on some single refractors

Gorgeous card and he is on an absolute tear. Early MVP type numbers.
The odds are so slim ripping heritage for these Star refractors then to score the dime on top of that makes for a truly tough card.

Conundrum - Loving my unopened baseball card collection....but really like ripping too
Upgraded my '81 Donruss and Topps PSA 9's to 10's and added two mid-80's 9's to my Mookie Wilson master set. Also picked up two more 1888 Allen & Ginter beauties to go along with the crab I acquired earlier this month.
A card store has finally opened up here in town again and so popped in for some boxes and to rummage the bargain bin.. only got 1 box of 2021 topps baseball (last box in stock and pulled the trout patch) and a whole bunch of raw cards from the bin box . I think i spent around $90 at the shop this time around but got fair few game used and a couple signed and vintage. ill prob get more next time after check comes in .
Another bomb last night against the Yanks...... thought I'd share another Vlad....this one is a Silver Metal variation SSP /70 ... this variation I find resembles a foil card.....
Great stuff everyone. Love being able to see all these cool (gawd, I'm old and still using the word cool) items.
No cards or sport related items for me this month. I look but don't find anything that moves me. I have made a few vinyl purchases though.
1st lot had a wide range of items. VG+ to EX was the given grade which for the most part I could agree with once in hand. The 45's were crap condition but since I despise the Carpenters (sorry to any Carpenters fans) not upset with that.
2nd lot was to fill in some spots on my quest for good Disco which defined by me as being able to listen to the whole album and not just the one hit that many artists had. This isn't easy as there was a LOT of horrible stuff released (just a personal opinion). Seller graded at VG which might sound bad when thinking in the terms of card collecting/grading. I questioned him on the grade and he explained in detail each album. Arrived and other than a massive amount of groove wear on Kool & The Gang - In The Heart (didn't add to my pic below) making it unplayable he was spot on.
The next 2 lots didn't go as well as expected but the seller and I worked it out.
This is where I will explain grading of vinyl (boo, shut up, don't care). The following were given the grade of VG+ or better. So what is VG+ you might be asking? Goldmine and Discogs (which use the Goldmine standard) say basically the following:
Goldmine.
VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+) or EXCELLENT (E)
A good description of a VG+ record is “except for a couple minor things, this would be Near Mint.” Most collectors, especially those who want to play their records, will be happy with a VG+ record, especially if it toward the high end of the grade (sometimes called VG++ or E+).
VG+ records may show some slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Minor signs of handling are OK, too, such as telltale marks around the center hole, but repeated playing has not misshapen the hole. There may be some very light ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable.
Discogs.
Generally worth 50% of the Near Mint value. A Very Good Plus record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Defects should be more of a cosmetic nature, not affecting the actual playback as a whole. Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experiences. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are "OK". The label may have some ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable. Spindle marks may be present.
And a discussion on Discogs titled what exactly is VG+ for a vinyl? Which started a bit of a debate but the quick and easy answer the Goldmine Standard, which Discogs uses, is pretty explicit on the matter. Near Mint looks like new but has been played. VG+ shows a few light surface marks but no surface noise whatsoever.
So if your all following that in short VG+ should look and sound basically as close to NM with minimal visual issues. Surface noise is debatable as that's the nature of the beast when it comes to vinyl and how much or little being bothersome varies from person to person.
So, 2 lots purchased of 12inch singles (lot of 25 and lot of 50) with many being promos. Wide range of styles/genres going back to late 1970's on up to 2012 all being graded as VG+ or better.
Problem started from the moment I started looking at them individually as all had dirt/dust/debris/waterdamage and even some mold. One cracked, one heavily scratched and one that looked like it took a hit which resulted in a small section in the grooves with a slight crack.
Took me couple days to go thru everything and sent a polite message to the seller with pics questioning the grading. As I have been collecting records for over 40 years I could only find 16 out of the 86 (yes, he sent extras) that graded at VG+. The rest average VG with a few VG- and a couple Poor. I thanked him for asking my questions prior to purchase, how well they were packed and the speed of getting them here.
Within seconds refund notification came in and he messaged me back refunded in full for both lots and to keep them for free. Won't put the rest on here (nothing nasty) and I messaged back that he didn't need to do that and that I was pointing out what I received.
Next morning he messaged again. Explained why he refunded in full and if I felt happy with a portion if I would send him even $5. I sent him a bit more than that as I never intended for a full refund. I know some would just have said heck with it due to what was received but that just didn't sit well with me.
So what's my point? Basically if you think card grading can make you smash your head into a wall when you receive something that doesn't match the scans (and scans can be VERY deceiving) try dipping your toes into buying records online where all you have to rely on is another persons words.
And if you think pictures help here is from the 1st lot above.
Same album (large image on right) superimposed onto the sellers image. Sellers image looks spotless and the image I took looks very different. My image is dead on accurate with how it looks in hand.
Sorry about all the above. I never know when to shut up but hopefully a little educating to anyone interested in vinyl.

Thanks! Takes a while to find a good one, but it is worth it in the end. You know all about that!
