........................ submitted some coins to our host for grading.
29 coins in all. True views requested for all 29 coins.
Once graded I will also likely jump into the Set Registry.
This will be an interesting experience and will broaden the scope of my participation in the hobby.
I have to admit I do not like the idea of shipping these coins and would have preferred delivering them in person to our host at a show.
Now the waiting begins.
I wonder how frequent I will be checking on the status of the submissions (every 5 minutes after I confirm that the coins have arrived at our host ; or not at all and just wait for when the return shipment from PCGS arrives ).

You’ll be checking every 5 minutes to see where the package is, then if it entered into their system, etc. it’s the curse. Or is it more like a gambling fix?
TurtleCat Gold Dollars
Sounds exciting! But also expensive!

For the expected quality of Sanction's collection, I would more consider it a worthwhile investment towards ensuring his heirs receive proper value for his collection. Very anxious to see how you do , Kevin. Good luck.
A piece of advice, is you may want to invest in a new refresh button to prepare for the wait.
Fresh meat!
Good luck!

About time. Mail it registered and it should make it there all safe. Once the PCGS package locator shows the package has been accepted just chill for two or three weeks before even peeking at the progress. Then it will be over in no time.
Most definitely

Good for you! Glad you submitted some of the coins you found in the wild. Looking forward to the results.
Did you happen to assign your personal grade to them before your shipped?

I submitted 20 coins to PCGS last year. It was an expensive learning experience. I have since sold 16 of them. Let us know. Start checking 3 weeks after PCGS receives them.
Cameonut.
Yes I did assign my personal grades. It will be interesting to see how the PCGS grades and my assigned grades match up (or not match up).
@SanctionII.... Best of luck with your submission. I know from your posts over the years that you have acquired some really nice coins. I know you will be looking for DCAM's on many of your submissions. Cheers, RickO
what did you submit??
Good luck. Hopefully lots of CAMs and DCAMs.
Keets.
Its a secret
Before you know it ... you'll have them back.
Very exciting, keep up posted in the results.
Just a quick timeline from my recent submission:
I mailed 2 submissions, same box on 3/9 Registered Mail. They were received 3/12
1 submission was Regular Gold
And the other was Just regular coins with a few variety’s to look over.
The Gold Submission had 5 coins and was shipped 3/25 so a little under 2 weeks turnaround .
The other submission had 4 coins and shipped 4/5 so a little more than 3 Weeks
And yes.... I did check many times a day
Good luck!!!

My last submission took three weeks and it seemed like forever.
lucky.. mine took 2.5 months... ON REGULAR
You should track thru the post office as things can sit on a desk in house for weeks before being entered into the system. Once you verify they're in que just wait for the e-mail with the grades. I'll bet you 2 to 1 something gets rejected for cleaning or questionable color.
They don't like taking chances.
Can you talk me into doing the same thing. Need motivation, could never understand why anyone does this
TY
Just checked USPS Tracking to see where my package to our host is. I dropped the package off at my local post office on the afternoon of 4-5-2021.
Surprisingly the USPS Tracking shows that the package is in So. Cal. and is scheduled to be delivered to our host today.
If delivery happens today, that will be very fast. Much faster than I expected.
Not including shipping and receiving time factors... from the time it is logged it has been 4 to 5 weeks on the economy plan.
My Modern value is just about to wrap up and got one Economy behind it.
Sending another next week.
It is a fun part of the hobby, though the wait can be agonizing. Even for a small fish like me.

Today I confirmed with the Post Office and with PCGS that my shipment of coins was delivered to PCGS on 4-12-2021. Glad to see that the package arrived at our host without a hitch (I was concerned that the package would take weeks or longer to be delivered).
Now I just sit back and wait for our host to "Do It's Magic".
My submissions have been logged in and are in process.
Smooth process so far.
Now time to turn my attention to other things for a month or so.
Just sent out 5 myself. Be patient my friend. Good Luck with all your babies.

That feeling just swept over me. That feeling of when I was a kid waiting for Christmas morning!!
You will be posting the results here upon their return, correct??
Results will be posted.
Could not resist checking the status of my submissions this afternoon.
The 29 coins I submitted were broken down into four separate orders.
One order contains one coin that has been submitted for review for possible restoration before it is graded. The status of that order shows the coin is being reviewed for possible restoration.
The status of the other three orders show that grading is "In Progress" (for this submission newbie seeing "In Progress" is pretty cool). When the results of the grading of the coins are posted that will hit me like other "firsts" (i.e. first time riding a bike, driving a car, going on a date, etc.) and will be great, so-so, or disappointing.
Hopefully the former.
So far my first submission has gone smoothly, timely and without any headaches (i.e. the registered mail package containing the 29 coins did not end up sitting for weeks or months at the Post Office).
We know what you're feeling! It's just like Christmas!
I keep waiting...
Any day now mine will pop.
Averaging about 4 to 6 weeks on the economy.

How's the wait going @SanctionII?
I just checked the status of my submission. The 29 coins were sent in four separate orders.
One order (8 coins submitted regular) has moved from grading in progress to finalization and encapsulation. The 8 coins are also being imaged.
Very excited to see grades posted and Trueview photos of these 8 coins.
The other orders (14 coins submitted economy, 6 coins submitted modern and 1 coin submitted for possible restoration) are still in progress.
Let us know how you make out.

I just found out that my 8 graded coins have been shipped back to me. Hopefully I will receive them sometime next week with no problems on the return trip.
They were received by PCGS on 4-12-2021 and logged in on 4-14-2021. One month later they are graded and on their way back. No hiccups with these 8 coins so far.
The remaining 21 coins are broken into 3 orders.
1 coin submitted for restoration. 14 coins submitted Economy. 6 coins submitted Modern.
Looking forward to receiving updates on these 21 remaining coins; and looking forward to seeing True View photos.
Thanks for your kind words everyone.
Also, a big THANK YOU to PCGS.
PCGS should be thanking you...it only took you 10,000 posts on their official message board to earn your business! That's a lot of effort to get one customer!
Congrats on what was certainly a very successful submission.
