As a Pirates fan, I have always had an affinity for Clemente, but I have never invested in his cards. This is my first one and only 91 higher at PSA (35 at 8.5 and 56 at 9)... Love the color and preservation in general on this card.
Congratulations! That's a beautiful card.
Collecting anything and everything relating to Roger Staubach
Picked this up at a card show over the weekend. While I also bought a handful of random raw cards, this Stolen Base Leaders card was the only graded card that I purchased while there. I don't usually target 10s for my 70s sets, but couldn't pass it up for the price.

Chump change for this thread, but given his recent passing and extensive career in broadcasting, I liked this one with a reporter interviewing him with a microphone visible.

I've always liked that card, too, for pretty much the same reason.
6X All-Star, AL ROY, Silver Slugger, 2x Batting Champion, .313 Lifetime Average, Batted .372 in 2000, I think he is still getting ready for the next pitch.. "Nomah"!
I have some of these from this set out for grading, but decided to pick up this one since 1.) these acetate translucent cards can be tough and the one I own isn't in top condition for subbing and 2.) graded copies dont come up often.
I also picked up this pretty much gem mint worthy copy after seeing another member post theirs up here. love these early comic hologram cards. these are usually scuffed, beat up and off center. this was the best copy ive ever seen.
Added this 86 Topps grocery rack with the ultra rare upside down Jose Uribe to the unopened collection. Uribe has an 85 Fleer Update card and an 85 Topps Traded, but it's his first Topps base card and this minty, pack fresh, upside down version is certainly much, much more valuable than the also popular 1990 Fleer Jose Uribe. Sorry, but please do not inundate me with offers, it's not for sale...😉

Both purchases this month are for HOF sets I am working on.
Ecstatic to get Ashburn, as this one never comes up for sale. The last non-PWCC sale listed in the auction history is from 2017 for a PSA 8. As someone who will not do business with PWCC after their trimming scandal - this has been a hard one to find. Even PWCC has only had two available since 2017. Two of the 8s out there that surface every couple of years have issues on the back that would bother me too much to buy (one is stained and one is off-center to the point you can see the card next to it). My patience on this one has paid off! The scratch running horizontally toward the lower left is on the holder not the card. Down to 4 left - Boudreau, Wynn, Conlan and Cal Hubbard (who for some reason is not included on the registry set checklist even though he is the only person to be in both the baseball and football hall of fame).
The Jenkins is a really tough '68 and I now have 50 cards in the '68 HOF set. I have never scene a centered copy and after two 9s surfaced that were as off-center as the 8s I have looked at - I decided to go with a PSA 8 for my set.
I am like .03% or .04% something like that from being the #2 combo set. Where I am at on the registry is a side effect of my love for Star Trek. If I was last on the list, fine with me. I just want to get the best combo set I can get, and where it ends up in base card, stickers, and combo set, so be it!
BEAM ME UP SCOTTY!!! NO INTELLIGENT LIFE ON THIS PLANET EARTH!!!
On every card, pretty much, Doc always looks like he is having a stroke. Gotta love it.

You are clearly trying to pull a fast one - when making Baseball right-side up on the pack - it is simply a rare version of upside down HOFer Jim Rice - nowhere near the ballplayer Uribe was. Those of you giving unsolicited offers beware!

To my horror, you are correct! Alarm bells should have gone off with only a $8,686.86 asking price. Lesson learned - If something seems to good to be true, it probably is. Do you think PayPal will help me on this?...😉
I've been collecting the Topps Rookie Cup cards autographed for about 5 years now and am down to about 20 left I don't have a signed version of the card and countdouglas was gracious enough to take another one off the list! Got this beauty in the mail today and quickly added it to the website to take off the "Coming Soon" gif. Thanks again to Doug for a great story and a great card!

Who’s to say I’m gonna sell it? I love the look and design of the 1976 card, and I add to my ‘76 set from time to time. I like having my cards in PSA holders, So yeah, I think I will spend $300 have it graded now. Not everything is about money. If I gotta spend $300 to have ONE card graded, I’m ok with that. Sheesh.

What do you know about that gardner Mantle game? I have one without the photo and record. I messaged a member on the board here who I thought might know but never got a reply. Nice looking '61 Mays also.

Enjoyed @yankeesman questfortherookiecup.com collection. Neat idea.
At least his helmet on this card doesn't make him look like he's twelve.
Damm great cards everyone I'm ashamed to post this here what I got this month.
If you think that’s bad, in 2019 the way he looked almost gave me the urge watch House Party!
Almost.

I don't think I need to add much other than to say that at 125-50, this was the greatest team, record wise, to ever win a World Series.

Nice pick up for my 76 set today! Might super-express it, not sure yet. Corners are sharp, just a bad angle. Lol
Just curious...why would you use super express?
