Yep. Seems like they are just starting with bulk orders they received in the first couple weeks of July. I have a 102 card order that order that was received on 07/13/20 and entered 09/09/20 that flipped to "grading" last night.

The 2002 Fleer Jordans are Sps (only 14 10s before the one I hit here) I am also super excited about all things the 1993 Sam Mills. I opened a box recently to try and get one for my Topps run I am doing of him, also love upgrading my 1979 Nolan from an 8 to a 9!

What happens if you submitted cards under the Modern $12/card with the maximum declared value of $199 back in October and now with the huge boom in card values, your graded cards are worth much more than that? Some of the cards I submitted were in the $150-$190 range in PSA 10 and now some 10s are selling for almost a grand. For example, the 1993 Upper Deck #449 Derek Jeter were selling under $199 back in October, and now they're over $900.

It is a case by case basis. If you need to be up charged it should be a moment of celebration

guessing they like to knock out the smaller orders so less customers get frustrated...when you spend a lot of time on the huge orders, thousands of smaller orders sit there, so thousands of unhappy/questioning customers

Maybe but I’ve also seen orders, at the same service level, that were 2x-3X larger than mine pop in half of my timeframe so it can’t be that simple. Either way, my order is finally on the move again so I’ll take it.
There is no making sense of anything they do. I have an economy order that was in grading a month before this one that just popped hit grading. That order is still in grading. It is only 7 cards. It has been in stage 4 for 4 full months.
There have to be reasons for what they do, but a 7 card economy should not be in one stage for 4 months...

Ok my most recent sub that hit grading a 100+ card Ultra Modern bulk jumped to assembly over 4 other subs that have been in grading much longer. Including the 7 card Economy that was received before it and has been in grading for going on 4 months. In what world does this make any sense.

The 2002 Fleer Jordans are Sps (only 14 10s before the one I hit here) I am also super excited about all things the 1993 Sam Mills. I opened a box recently to try and get one for my Topps run I am doing of him, also love upgrading my 1979 Nolan from an 8 to a 9!

There have to be reasons for what they do, but a 7 card economy should not be in one stage for 4 months...
I’m with you on this one. Have a 6 card CC order that has been in grading since early to mid October (unsure of exact date) starting to get a little concerned that the order fell behind a desk or bookshelf or wherever they stack these things. 🤪

Now especially you cannot assume that a card will hit a 10. That being said a lot of cards are not being upcharged in my experience. I would not mind being hit with one on the right cards.
Just hit QA check 2 on a 40 pack sub. This was the last month before prices went up to grade packs from 16 to like 40. I'm surprised to be getting traction on a pack sub, considering I have a 102 bulk card order I sent on the same day, that is still in grading !

notables: not my best. but again, no personal cards in here either. while total gem rate is embarrassing, the gems that did hit are some big ones like the herro fb variations, rj optic holo all the genesis' etc. psa seems to be really harsh on the bobby witt bowmans. if anyone actually collects siryvdis and wants a free silver prizm psa 6 rookie, it's all yours.
eta: skipped right over the shai gilgeous-alexander psa 10 white mosaic. makes it a whole lot better.

N5 Altered Stock means either the seal popped or the pack failed authentication.
The Mint 9 1979 baseball wax packs are nice hits!
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
Thanks for the info Tim. I bought those as a group from Steve but didnt check the seals. I left them in the bubble wrap and sent them to PSA. So guess the seal popped in shipping. Oh well. I guess I have a couple 79 wax packs to open ! And getting 4 9’s should cover the cost. Overall I’m pretty happy with the results.

Can you request that a card you have already submitted, get up charged so you can get it back quicker? I sent 2 2018 Topps On Demand 3D Juan Soto cards under economy back in September. At the time they were selling close to $500 on eBay. Now I see them listed on eBay at almost $3,000. If PSA knows that I will be up charged anyway, 6 months from now. Has anyone requested this before?

know exactly when to jump into a box break and exactly when to get out. and if you know how box/team breaks work then you understand this is not cherry picking a box either. still involves luck of the draw and/or roll of the proverbial internet dice.
got it down to a science.
eta: best part was breakers still use toploaders. i stocked up on cs1s just prior to the pandemic knowing what was about to happen due to working in a similar industry and shortages of items coming from china. prolly sold off $15k worth of used toploaders during the shortage that all these "hits" were shipped to me in. had folks and breakers fighting for them so they could continue their bank rolls. kinda funny and ironic when i look back at it all now. cs1s are lighter and can fit a ton more in a flat rate box. but breakers love toploaders, they were basically sending me gold and paying extra to do so. 🤯

i doubt it's that. this is all fairly low dollar, high pop modern. i would think they kinda fly through this stuff and pay more attention and look out harder for trimming on the vintage side. kinda like inspecting a '76 mustang vs '21 mustang off the line. and yes, i would rather have the '76 every day of the week. kinda like all this stuff. they can have it all. was more like a cure for bordem and luckily pulled outta the market at the right time too. had to do something w/ it! so far, the absolute best decisions i have made. a ton of extra work, but what else was there to do. absolutely nothing. just took advantage of an opportunity i saw.

I tried calling this afternoon but they had reached their call limit for the day (seriously that’s what the recorded message said). So I sent an email asking if I could do that. The problem I may run into is that these 2 cards were submitted along with 8 others that don’t need to be moved to a higher sub level. I am concerned that 6-8 months from now, when these are fully processed, that they will up charge me on these two. If I am going to be up charged I would rather it be now and I receive the cards back within a month or so.
ok, you didn't hear this from me, BUT i've been submitting a few packs here and there lately. knowing that they would take forever, i didn't see the harm of throwing any bulk orders in the same box. (learned the hard way to never throw an express in w/ a bulk). anyways, every single one of my shipments which contain a pack sub in it, the entire sub gets entered and logged right away. in theory, this should knock 15 weeks off of your bulk sub time just waiting to get logged.

I don't see them doing this, but good luck! Sorting through the 4 million card backlog doesn't seem like it would make sense to pull out two and have to deal with a new order form.

Yep. Seems like they are just starting with bulk orders they received in the first couple weeks of July. I have a 102 card order that order that was received on 07/13/20 and entered 09/09/20 that flipped to "grading" last night.

The 2002 Fleer Jordans are Sps (only 14 10s before the one I hit here) I am also super excited about all things the 1993 Sam Mills. I opened a box recently to try and get one for my Topps run I am doing of him, also love upgrading my 1979 Nolan from an 8 to a 9!

What happens if you submitted cards under the Modern $12/card with the maximum declared value of $199 back in October and now with the huge boom in card values, your graded cards are worth much more than that? Some of the cards I submitted were in the $150-$190 range in PSA 10 and now some 10s are selling for almost a grand. For example, the 1993 Upper Deck #449 Derek Jeter were selling under $199 back in October, and now they're over $900.
It is a case by case basis. If you need to be up charged it should be a moment of celebration
guessing they like to knock out the smaller orders so less customers get frustrated...when you spend a lot of time on the huge orders, thousands of smaller orders sit there, so thousands of unhappy/questioning customers
Maybe but I’ve also seen orders, at the same service level, that were 2x-3X larger than mine pop in half of my timeframe so it can’t be that simple. Either way, my order is finally on the move again so I’ll take it.

There is no making sense of anything they do. I have an economy order that was in grading a month before this one that just popped hit grading. That order is still in grading. It is only 7 cards. It has been in stage 4 for 4 full months.
There have to be reasons for what they do, but a 7 card economy should not be in one stage for 4 months...
Ok my most recent sub that hit grading a 100+ card Ultra Modern bulk jumped to assembly over 4 other subs that have been in grading much longer. Including the 7 card Economy that was received before it and has been in grading for going on 4 months. In what world does this make any sense.

I was wondering the same thing the other day. I don’t think it should be on us. That was the going price of the card when we submitted it so I feel it would be unfair to upcharge. Plus we got the service level we paid for (6-8 months wait time). I am curious to see how this turns out....
I’m with you on this one. Have a 6 card CC order that has been in grading since early to mid October (unsure of exact date) starting to get a little concerned that the order fell behind a desk or bookshelf or wherever they stack these things. 🤪

Now especially you cannot assume that a card will hit a 10. That being said a lot of cards are not being upcharged in my experience. I would not mind being hit with one on the right cards.
Just hit QA check 2 on a 40 pack sub. This was the last month before prices went up to grade packs from 16 to like 40. I'm surprised to be getting traction on a pack sub, considering I have a 102 bulk card order I sent on the same day, that is still in grading !

Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
Thanks for the info Tim. I bought those as a group from Steve but didnt check the seals. I left them in the bubble wrap and sent them to PSA. So guess the seal popped in shipping. Oh well. I guess I have a couple 79 wax packs to open ! And getting 4 9’s should cover the cost. Overall I’m pretty happy with the results.

Looks like they might be speeding up a bit!
Can you request that a card you have already submitted, get up charged so you can get it back quicker? I sent 2 2018 Topps On Demand 3D Juan Soto cards under economy back in September. At the time they were selling close to $500 on eBay. Now I see them listed on eBay at almost $3,000. If PSA knows that I will be up charged anyway, 6 months from now. Has anyone requested this before?

but enough to be able to tell you the rest of the box by seeing the 3rd card outta the 1st pack.
know exactly when to jump into a box break and exactly when to get out. and if you know how box/team breaks work then you understand this is not cherry picking a box either. still involves luck of the draw and/or roll of the proverbial internet dice.
got it down to a science.
eta: best part was breakers still use toploaders. i stocked up on cs1s just prior to the pandemic knowing what was about to happen due to working in a similar industry and shortages of items coming from china. prolly sold off $15k worth of used toploaders during the shortage that all these "hits" were shipped to me in. had folks and breakers fighting for them so they could continue their bank rolls. kinda funny and ironic when i look back at it all now. cs1s are lighter and can fit a ton more in a flat rate box. but breakers love toploaders, they were basically sending me gold and paying extra to do so. 🤯

i doubt it's that. this is all fairly low dollar, high pop modern. i would think they kinda fly through this stuff and pay more attention and look out harder for trimming on the vintage side. kinda like inspecting a '76 mustang vs '21 mustang off the line. and yes, i would rather have the '76 every day of the week. kinda like all this stuff. they can have it all. was more like a cure for bordem and luckily pulled outta the market at the right time too. had to do something w/ it! so far, the absolute best decisions i have made. a ton of extra work, but what else was there to do. absolutely nothing. just took advantage of an opportunity i saw.
I tried calling this afternoon but they had reached their call limit for the day (seriously that’s what the recorded message said). So I sent an email asking if I could do that. The problem I may run into is that these 2 cards were submitted along with 8 others that don’t need to be moved to a higher sub level. I am concerned that 6-8 months from now, when these are fully processed, that they will up charge me on these two. If I am going to be up charged I would rather it be now and I receive the cards back within a month or so.

ok, you didn't hear this from me, BUT i've been submitting a few packs here and there lately. knowing that they would take forever, i didn't see the harm of throwing any bulk orders in the same box. (learned the hard way to never throw an express in w/ a bulk). anyways, every single one of my shipments which contain a pack sub in it, the entire sub gets entered and logged right away. in theory, this should knock 15 weeks off of your bulk sub time just waiting to get logged.
exploit this loophole as you see fit!
