Seems quite a few listings with starting bid a hair over 3k have no bids. Wonder how many will go back to the Mint?
Currently the mint has a button that says: "REMIND ME".
We all know that doesn't work, when it's available, they will remind you, but only after it's sold out.
The mint should have a new button: "DON'T REMIND ME"

I have purchased all my moderns on the secondary market for years for less-sometimes considerably less-than the issue price from the mint. Not 100% of the time, though close.
I watch all of this with some degree of perplexity. I'd rather buy straight bullion when the Mint is scooping up the top 50% of any numismatic premium and the issue price is $3 Grand. I sold my 2017 coin in 2018 and haven't looked back.
I've believed this for years - there are too many issues with too many special flavors coming from the Mint, dividing up the available collector funds between so many offerings that I fail to see how demand will ever get traction unless it's a limited issue of 1945 coins or so. Even that ploy by the Mint will eventually kill the collector market for most series, in my opinion.
Milking (and bilking) collectors on a massive scale has been the Mint's M.O. since the 1996-W and for the most part, it has "worked" for them. Phillip Diehl changed my approach to instant rarity thinking back then, but my thinking is changing back to what it was in 1986 when I judged that the new AGE series was more cost-effective than the classic gold series because of the built-in premiums on the front end of classic gold at that time.
Now, it's the Mint making prices illogical, rather than traditionally built-in dealer costs & markups. C'est la vie. I'd rather go with "plain vanilla" bullion than to fan the flames of this type of BS.
Well, whaddya' know? They are still available this morning!
Q: Are You Printing Money? Bernanke: Not Literally
Sure, why not, how would anyone ever know?
Kinda like all the Spouse Gold (given that most of it trades near or below spot) and other stuff that has been melted, does that really ever leave a “Known” mark?
I have never witnessed such high numbers each successive morning of back order status available to the public. The cancellation rate must be staggering, in Comparison to past issues.
I believe there will be returns, listings starting at $3200 are ending with no bids. Even if sold for $3200 what will the casual seller net? 75 bucks maybe a bit more or a bit less? The Mint will refund your money in full, guaranteed $3k back in your pocket.

Final value fee is 10% ($320), so they would be underwater at $3200.
There Could be a One tier or Two tier price Decrease for Mint Palladium this afternoon shortly after 2PM ET
Palladium’s pricing ALL depends on the Today's Palladium PM Fix.
My Guess is that the price will be $2,900.00
IF I wanted one, I would start refreshing the Mint's website at 2PM ET and try to get one for the lower price...
Well people didn't like spending an entire year with not gone but never available (2019-S) Maybe we can spend an entire year with a supposedly gone but constantly available.
even with speculator returns, the items sold will be close to the max.
certainly we are unhappy with the premium.
however, the maximum is a pretty good estimation from the mint while not good for flippers. If I worked for the mint, I'd call this one a success (not too many, not too few.)
while the mint will likely call this a great success...
as far as collecting the series:
1. there is decreasing demand
2. The cost of making a set will be extremely costly
3. the limited mintage and an abundance of coins on ebay for more than issue price will have some collectors ending their collecting of the run. Why? simply because they have the rare, collectible ones or cannot get the rare ones. Why start a set with a common coin and never be able to complete it without a large outlay for the first two?
I do think there are hard core collectors of the series that will remain.
But
look to the first spouse series. I foresee this continuing like them. mintages continually decreasing.
(graded 70s for the newest Bush spouse release are sitting on eBay. It used to be that people would buy the cheap 69s off eBay for whatever reason and now the 69s sit.)

Let's say there are no returns, is it possible that they can sell over the mintage?

There's gotta be some database coordinating the number of orders cancelled with the number of coins availability each day.
The sales figures is just a moving number on that particular time/date.
Surely they cant oversold a limited mintage coin. That would caused huge mistrust among the public onto future mintage proposal.
If you can’t think of anything else to blow 3 grand on these are available right now. No waiting for 6:30am CT

Does the price go down a little from $3,000 tomorrow afternoon?
palladium has risen since release
That will be a fun auction to watch. Unlike the Mint’s.

the returns will likely start in quantity this friday which is 1 week after the first would have been received.
Final value fee is 10% ($320), so they would be underwater at $3200.
More than 99 available. The mint has really figured out how to play buyers, artificial shortage.
Still more than 99

There is Nothing left to reprice.

This is fun to watch from the “glad I didn’t buy one from the Mint” sidelines.
