The substantial truth doctrine is an important defense in defamation law that allows individuals to avoid liability if the gist of their statement was true.
Sorry for bad image quality, still trying to figure out how to take better pictures but I acquired my second morgan dollar in my collection for a good price
as well as this set of war nickels which i might put into some 2x2s but im not sure yet.
the war nickels are a little dirty but it’s pretty nifty to have the whole set

@ajyas Your 1884-O Morgan looks better than EF-45. Looks like an AU55 or 58. Nice coin.

Wife & I made a microvacation out of the Manchester, NH show. The 1940 Jefferson proof is something that had been on the list for years and I'd never seen one I liked. My wife liked the panda. Bullion just because. Not a very deep haul -- we kicked tires on some more significant possibilities but none were quite the ones for us.
Quite rare. I know of only four of them, and own half of that population. The usual state has an alarming radial break from the rim through the right side of the E of UNITED.
My Census:
PCGS AU Details - sold at the FUN 2017 auction. It is as minted and only details for a planchet flaw. I would grade it AU58 or maybe AU55.
ANACS XF40 - mine
PCGS VF20 - mine, this coin
VG8 or VG8 Details - heard of this one when it was apparently the only known one
Two very nice likely PF67 Kennedy raw halves. One probably just shy of CAM, the other AH
The Franklin DDO is more for study. Crack, dip, cross?
The NGC came at a good price and is gorgeous.

Thanks! 😎
That little group all came in together, so I had to buy all of them at the same time, usually I buy one bar at a time, but I knew I had to grab all of these this time. 👍

It does not appear to have been "cleaned" to an extent that would preclude a problem-free grade.
If there are no hidden hairlines, then possibly MS64 FB.
Do those smaller Silver Towne bars bring a premium? And what is their Cira on those. I ask because a have a few that I have not looked at for years. Just wondering

The earlier ones that have serial numbers do bring a premium, especially the 5 ounce! The newer 5 ounce like the one pictured above, not so much. But you can always check eBay sold listings and get an idea…

And as far as when they were made, the serial number ones I believe the 1980s and 1990s, the ones without serial numbers I believe are all after 2000 but I’m just guessing on that.

I liked it for its decent strike, obverse and reverse.
As for the color, who knows what it’s been through in 218 years?
