USAF (Ret) 1974 - 1994 - The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries. Remembering RickO, a brother in arms.
I picked up this pair this afternoon. I've been buying only PCGS-slabbed Carson City Morgans, but beggars can't be choosers when you are looking for circulated coins in years dominated by uncirculated GSA hoard coins.
Bo-Mar. Took it to the range yesterday and shot a 6" group from 50' right out of the case. The previous owner had the sights, the comp trigger, and flat mainspring housing put on. The original parts came with it in case I'd like to switch it back.

Not really new but finally got some images and grades. The images for NGC does not have the grades available yet.
My slug collection is coming along very nicely. All slugs are rare but the few really rare ones are noted below.
They are Somalian to the ones I have already but still different enough to have different Jankosky numbers.
I’m hoping the 3 from NGC grade as I do not believe any are graded. Most if not all are net graded.

This one is extremely rare, supposedly less than 10 known.
.
Very rare in silver
I forgot to add this one.
1950 HK-503 SCD Statehood Centennial NGC MS64 EX- Bill Weber, also exceedingly rare . I thinks it’s R9
Slab has a ton of scratches and toning is so difficult to capture in the slab.

I like that this coin came from the Parmalee collection a long, long time ago. Great provenance!

I’m big into provenance- it’s a big part of my enjoyment of the hobby to know or figure out where a coin has been!
Another interesting and fun side distraction are oversized "Lucky Penny's" Made during the early teen's to 1920's. There were made in mass quantities. Being so not that many can be found in original or excellent condition. They range from 68mm to 75mm and 4.7 mm thick to 7mm think. So it's safe saying they're re medals.....
I've only collected a few. 2 have been submitted to PCGS for grading and true views and one from Black Hills South Dakota only imaged lately.
Hope you enjoy them.

An accidental double purchase.
My registry set said I was missing this one so I bought it only to find out that I had one in my inventory that was not registering. Had to report it. The good side was that it was short money.
1876 C-1 Type I/I NGC PR62 Trade Dollar
I have seen only 9 of these proofs with a Type I reverse. The finest I have seen is NGC PR63, making this #2 on the condition census AFAIK.
After leaving ANA, looked at pictures I took while there and decided to buy this over the phone.
Possibly going to send it back for reconsideration since it looks like a 65 to me.
Love the color, nice pickup! I sort of did a similar thing except I had to take my picture in the lot viewing room under less than ideal lighting and I had to bid yesterday instead of call the dealer. And it's sort of US because it's 1776 and we didn't have our own national currency yet!

We’re these allowed as legal currency? I know some that went to the West Indies with clipped planchets were allowed.

I don't know how the English felt about it but a huge swath of the US was still owned by Spain so certainly legal tender there. And 8R's were commonly used throughout much of America much later than this but I'm not sure how much the 8Es were. Mostly I wanted a 1776 "Spanish" coin and all things being equal prefer gold to silver

I've been wanting one of these for a long time. An imperfect planchet for sure, but I find that part of the charm of a 1793 U.S. coin.
Wow! That's fantastic. Congratulations!

Haha never! Love me some proof coins!
When I come to the CU forum and see @Floridafacelifter 's name next to "most recent" in this Newp thread I get goose bumps.
Tell me, in hand how are the fields? Is it like looking into water?
It’s absolutely amazing- the blue toning is what really got me. It’s the only Bust quarter I own.
