Post your new library additions here as you get them!
Let’s also see what you currently have and use often.
I just got this one tonight, the book on Charlotte gold is still in the mail...
You can never have too many numismatic books!

I haven't gotten around to finish cataloging my journals and auction catalogs, but the books/booklets are here:
RMR: 'Wer, wenn ich schriee, hörte mich denn aus der Engel Ordnungen?'
CJ: 'No one!' [Ain't no angels in the coin biz]
Got this the other day for $2 1997 version, so much information
@Electricity great find! 👍

Dannreuther's projected series on classic (pre-1916) U.S. proof coins is a monumental undertaking. The gold section appeared first:
RMR: 'Wer, wenn ich schriee, hörte mich denn aus der Engel Ordnungen?'
CJ: 'No one!' [Ain't no angels in the coin biz]
In the last couple of months I got a brand new copy of Kevin Flynn's 2 Cent book from Ebay - a previously used copy of David Lange's Mercury Dime book, Second Edition from Half Price Books thru Amazon - and for Christmas 2019 I got the complete set (5 editions so far) of the Mega Red U.S. Coin Books. These are welcome additions to my numismatic library which some are in my home/office, the others are in storage for the time being.
I think I have that book in my library (currently in storage).
Cardinal,
So you were the bidder who won that (I was the underbidder)!

Quite impressive!
Well, I guess we made the consignor quite happy! If you would like, you can PM me with your address, and once I receive it, I could scan it and send you a copy for your library.

Don't tell that to your wife. I've tried---mine referred me to the barn where her horses are.

I have 12,000 books, catalogs, pamphlets, etc. And yes you can have too many. 2 years ago my office got physically downsized and 80% of my stuff is in storage. I also looked at that AM Smith volume, but my budget was blown quickly.
That's cool!

Just bought this one to see how it has evolved since I last bought one nearly 60 years ago.
I'm looking forward to the Charlotte book... I wish the mail would hurry up!

If you don't have them, get Birdsall's books on the Dahlonega and Charlotte branch mints.

Indeed I'll have to look into that! This is exactly why I started this thread, it'll help us discover new titles, etc.

I cannot take a picture right now... However, just looking at the shelf by my desk (not in my library) I see Coin Preservation Handbook by Charles Frank, The Lincoln Doubled Die by John A. Wexler, and United States Gold Counterfeit Detection Guide by Bill Fivaz...... I had used each one over the past couple of months, got to get them back in the coin library. Cheers, RickO
One title; Breen's US encyclopedia. Picked it for a buck at library book sale.
Incredible resource. And then there is Google. ..
Good find. I have a copy of that book that was given to me by a relative of a friend alongside some other books that he had, including a brand new copy of Arnold Margolis error book. My friend passed away in 2010. The book was well used but also has yellowing on the edges of the pages and a nicotine smell as my friend (and his brother, who lived with him), were heavy smokers. The book may not be in perfect shape, but I found it useable. I let it air out over time and the smell is pretty much gone.
About 1/2 of my library are books I bought (either new or used), but the other 1/2 are ones that were given to me from family members of collectors and dealers who I have come in contact with over the years, as they would've been in the trash. If something happens to me, I have instructed my wife to donate them to a coin club or organization.
Epic find for a buck! 👍

You betcha! Thanks, it's a classic.
Thx.
Funny, if you'd bought a $150 coin for a buck, everyone on here would be jumping up and down...since it's a book...meh!

I just picked up Edkins 4th edition. Mine is missing the plate pages! Not happy about that.
Sorry to hear that. I would not be happy either.

I just finished reading Winston Zack's new book, 'Bad Metal: Copper & Nickel. Circulating Contemporary Counterfeit United States Coins." I am looking forward to additional volumes dealing with counterfeit silver and gold coins. He referenced some books that I have not seen before, so I bought one of them:

A recently acquired Interesting little price list that lists several Hard Times tokens that are not cataloged elsewhere (Low, Rulau, Whitman, etc.).>
A friend gave me that a while back.

I use my Red Book. I will edit as I think about more that I use. But none as much as that.
Red books are a must for anyone in my opinion. So much good information!

A book I bought soon after joining this forum:
Numismatic Art in America by Cornelius Clarkson Vermeule III
Pacific Northwest Numismatic Association
That book (i.e., by Vermeule) is one of my favorite numismatic books. There is also a second edition. The author was also a noted scholar and curator of Greco-Roman antiquities.

I have a full set of the Mehl's circular, one of my favorite purchases last year.
It arrived today.
Great book!

Man,talk about obscure titles! I'm on the library flea market hunt for this one.
Some titles from my collection
The 1875 version of Crosby's "The Early Coins of America and the Laws Governing their Issue."
Original front and rear covers, with the Nova Constellatio gilt stamp, indicating that it was bound by the author. The leather spine was replaced with one done in the style of the original.

I have a copy of Crosby's "The Early Coins of America and the Laws Governing their Issue" as well, but not the revered Nova Constellatio gilt stamp edition.
Catalogue of the auction of the collection of famed operatic tenor Enrico Caruso.
American Art Association, 1923. Half of the lots were coins; these were catalogued by Henry Chapman.
Bound later in red cloth.

This book is about THE Redfield of the Redfield hoard of (mostly) Morgan dollars
