This was a late night spur of the moment pickup on eBay that I picked up the other night. Looks as nice as my 7 but at a much lower price.
That has to be the best 4.5 I have ever seen. What is wrong with it? If any card is screaming for a crack out and resubmission it would be that one.

Thank you and don’t know yet - just won it 2 days ago and will probably have it next week. I love to find cards that look like a 7/8 but cost a 4/5 - stretches the budget so I can buy a few more.
I am very happy to add this piece to my collection and too excited to wait to have to scan it in when it arrives to share it with you (though I will post an updated high resolution look once it is in hand). For me, these are some of the best looking materials produced from the time period; I've always felt these must have been, some how and some way, influential on the commericalized pop art we'd later see from artists like Andy Warhol; I think it quite likely, in fact, that a kid would be inspired by the beauty of these boxes as they sat eating the cereal and staring at the box, even without any intent to collect and/or save them. From the crystal clear colored imagery of the 1935-37 examples to the more artistic appeal of 1938-1941 and the use of bright bold colors throughout the years of issuance, with the obvious orange and blue color scheme appearing both prominently and more subdued at times throughout the course of the run, coupled with the sheer star power from the beginnings of the Golden Age of the game of baseball (and some really nice looking football cards of legendary figures, as well) all serves to make these a worthwhile and not really cost prohibitive pursuit for those looking for something fun and period to collect. The baseball and football checklists - even combined - are manageable, too. My main goal was not set pusuit but to grab all the various Gehrig's and DiMaggio's and I have stuck with that and not delved into the full sets. And I believe, aside from the unicorn like mini panels of each Yankees legend, that I am down to just one more Joltin' Joe full size specimen to complete the run: the 1941 Wheaties Champs of the USA card. Without further ado, here's the wonderful example I added to the personal collection earlier today...
1938 Wheaties "Biggest Thrills of Baseball" Series 10 - Joe DiMaggio
Curious about the rare, mysterious and beautiful 1951 Wheaties Premium Photos?
@Huskies11 - agree on the Mirror Red. It's one of Brady's most attractive Rookie Cards and SUPER CONDITION SENSITIVE. I picked mine up a few years ago and still have it. Congratz!! Great card!!

Really like the Patch and Serial Number on this Mahomes ROOKIE card. The Auto is also well centered.
Wow, what a card. I love his vertical Flawless RPA. I was able to scoop up some Pattys when he was injured on the cheap but nothing like this. Absolute monster.
-First time, seller sent me different (uglier) copy than the one in the photo without being a little more clearer that they were selling multiple copies.
-Second time from a different seller, the case was all scratched up. Wasn't worth sending back to PSA to get re-holdered so I just returned the card.
Fortunately I paid the same price each time (give or take a dollar) and now these cards have started rising to BIN's of $105 actually selling. I can see this card go as high as $140 by the middle of the season. Don't hesitate too much longer if your in the market for a copy.
Bunch of Classic 1990's cards back from re-slab as I downsize and sell. Figured the new slabs sell better than the old ones
A Juan Gonzalez rookie and the Classic Ripken UER card ( name misspelled Ripkin)
Plus the Ryan/Chipper/Mattingly 90 Classic Promo and Chipper Classic Rookie and a Donnie Baseball 87 Classic Green Back
The '56 cards are towards my HOF set minus Mantle (doubt I will pull the trigger on that card). The '55 Bowman Kiner is an upgrade on my '55 Bowman HOF set I am working on - down to only a few left. Had a Kiner PSA 7.5 but it has a wax stain on the back that I did not see on the scan when I bought it - really should have a ST qualifier and I wanted to improve it. The Banks is toward the Banks run I am working on - really excited to get this one as I feel like it is strong for the grade. The Ace Hurlers is towards my long term goal of getting every multi player card with a HOF on it - still a long way to go. The Drysdale, Brock and Marichal are just cards I felt were priced fairly and nice for the grade. Really happy with these - have not had time to scan for a while so some of these were actually January pick ups.

Great pickups!! You should have posted these cards in the vintage vs. modern thread as well. In my opinion, these cards are the reason why vintage cards will win that argument hands down. Classic photos, legendary players, and great designs.
Thanks pab 1969. As for vintage vs modern I prefer vintage And my collection is largely focused there, but we all have different reasons we collect and the cards we buy resonate with us. I respect and appreciate when anyone shares their collection and think the hobby is strong enough to support both. I buy blasters at Target every year so dabble in modern. Sometimes a set captures my attention in modern like the Topps on Demand set last year inspired by ‘55 Bowman. Has been fun chasing that set and trying to get all the variations.
This upgrade arrived today and looks really nice. Centering is off but the rest looks good. In my posts, I try to correctly identify items that are raw (and that trend will continue) and I'll defer to the label it would have on a flip by PSA because they are easily my brand of choice among the three.
1955-57 New York Yankees Picture Pack - Mickey Mantle (Batting)

Part of a year long project finally seeing some completion. Sent in various Star stuff been hanging on to forever ( like 30+ years in some cases). Starting with my readily available Red Sox and will move down later to the hoop stuff ( all baseball and hoop come from sealed bags I toted around)
Finished the first 3 subs of the 1988 STAR BOGGS /GWYNN Hits R Us set. I always loved this set as I was always following hitters instead of sluggers back then. Comes from Teddy ballgame then Yaz dominating my formative years.
While I'm sure there's higher slabs out there did score some decent grades on my own stuff that I've been lugging around the world forever
I had to email Cosetta to get the set request in so I can start to upload some of my Star sets will link!
when I can
Anyways set # 1 completed will update the post when Set # 2 gets back from PSA
There were some dupes I'll decide when the time comes what I'll do with them
I am sure astute observers will note the different slabs styles despite mere months between subs
And an even more astute observer will note the various Hall of Famers and cameos seen in these photos

Here, here on the MacAlister! I had to fight to keep the pedigree on mine when I sent it back in. Not the prettiest card or signature, but I like his story.
More recent slabs scanned. From past experiences the Teks get Mint 9 regularly
This sub was no different with 9 cards subbed total got 2 Gems and 7 Mint 9 which is normal
Topps usual crap QC causes surface issues on Teks. You get a Gem 10 of your player keep it doesn't happen often
More to follow frankly I'll never be caught up scanning too many slabs backlogged from last years pricing special.
All these slabs I'll be showing from this sub were from the boxes I broke about 6 months ago. As will be the other slabs you'll see coming soon. The Walker is part of the Hall of Fame series stuff I send in ( all HOF players cards get subbed even overproduced base issues)
All 3 Tek cards are Pop 1 with none higher on the variety types
The Walker Finest is a Pop 2 with none higher
I haven't come across that type of set before. Is that considered a rookie set that includes all issues and not just pack pulled cards? Nice card btw
Thanks Jason! It took 3 years with a number of losing bids to find a nicely centered 89 TT Tiffany. There are a bunch of off center 9’s out there!
As far as the prospect set, good question. This is a new type of set, with Griffey’s being only a few weeks old from what I can tell. I am not sure what their criteria is. They include the 1989 Topps heads up test issue (13 total graded) and 1989 Phoenix Magnatables, so a few oddball cards in my opinion. They leave out half the star cards and a few of the card magazine cards..
