In my cart, crashed going to payment every time. And now:
this product is no longer available
I kept getting that "Oops" message and thought I was toast, but I kept hitting the Refresh button and hoped for the best. I used to be in information systems / website work before I retired, guess I gotta return to work and apply at the Mint for an IT job to straighten things out.
I was shut out on this one. I'm thinking the after market will go crazy on this one for a while. This was the first time that I tried and failed on a hot offering. No rookie here. I was locked and loaded every thing seemed normal untill the wheels fell off.

Been building/running/dev websites for 25 years here as well. How those servers can't handle the ordering load is horrible. Like 1/10000000 of an amazon ordering process window load and can't handle it, sigh. Oh well, I tried.
What a painful experience. I was lucky to get one, although I had a second one in a cart. They screwed up royally I wound up retyping my credit card instead of using one on file. I ran out of time on the second one.
U.S. Mint Alert: You're all set to receive shipping updates from the Mint!!
Should be here tomorrow
That was ridiculous, just had to stick with it and hope that you had a super fast connection because the site kept going down and/or refreshing. They can do a lot better than what they are doing!

Some people like myself reported that the credit card info was blank where it is usually automatically fills in the correct fields. My guess is that lousy response time caused the pre-filling to be seriously delayed. My cc info finally popped in there but it took so long I thought I'd lost my chance to get one of these.
VERY challenging. Had a Mint Order Party of 4 hammering away. Got 3 out of 4. Same probs: card info didn't populate, then oops, oops, oops, then back all over again.

Truly a waste of time trying to get in... computer... phone... nothing worked... got one in the basket but couldn't complete... kept bopuncing my CC info, and I had to re-enter it a dozen times before "Product No Longer Available"... S**T

A Truth That's Told With Bad Intent Beats All The Lies You Can Invent
It was a fight, but I was able to get one as was a relative. The website crashed repeatedly.
Both received emails (12:03 PM and 12:13 PM EST) and both payments have already been pulled. Here's to hoping that the orders aren't cancelled because of a glitch or something stupid...
I had it in the cart in good time, but kept getting the error. Kept blanking out my cc when it came back up. Got to hit the order button a couple times but got the error again.
In the end, it was a waste of time, AS EXPECTED.
I am finally to the point where I think I am done chasing mint products like this. There is just no pleasure in it.
I figured I'd be the last one still buying all the annual junk the mint produces, but the new Mint Director has killed the pleasure of the hobby for me.
What Mr. Ryder has done with this latest fiasco is earned himself a Freedom of Information Act request that will be landing on his desk in the coming weeks. I will be looking for details on the planning and discussions surrounding this extremely limited offering which by design frustrated and angered most collectors.
Got one with iPad and a computer with 2 browsers on each open. Keeping this one for my collection. Had 4 accounts ready. My guess is you would have to be very lucky to snag 2 by yourself. I was using a crappy verizon dsl line.
I lucked up at 7199, but it was crazy with refreshes and all stored info seems to have been lost so had to fill it in despite a trial order of the regular proof earlier in the week.
BTW, the refresh button prior to ordering period almost cost me this coin.
Love that Milled British (1830-1960) Well, just Love coins, period.
Think I got in just at end, kept crashing at credit card info point like others experienced, finally around 12:14 got confirmed or thereabouts, USMO7232*** . Had a couple brothers trying, they all struck out. My one nephew and a friend said they finally got through too. Will wait and see!
I didn't get one as mentioned, but if I did, I would want at least $1,000. Anyone selling now under $500 is not too smart (meaning after the order process/crashes were known).
What a bleeping joke! I had it in the cart. I was through the checkout to the Final review button. It froze, it crashed, it was painful, it came back up, it was in checkout, I would select the credit card and it would freeze and I would refresh repeatedly and I would see the cart and select the credit card and it would freeze and it crashed and 17 minutes later I saw my cart and the item was no longer available! Very painful. Quite unhappy! Smashing the computer just wont help...
I blame whoever in the Mint (the director?) set this insanely low mintage - it attracted far more than 30,000 people to flail away at that website all at once and crash it. As a retired IT person, I can only comment that the Mint's website got a stress test and volume test free of charge from its customers today ……… and failed.
I know the flippers will love this issue, but collectors like me hate it - there are far more than 30,000 collectors of this series and it's unfair to those who collect it and lose out. I've been collecting this series for 33 years.
As far as I'm concerned the Mint's website got exactly the hammering treatment it deserved today.

Had to put mine in 4 times. Finally got to the confirm order after 20 min. and at least 30 refresh messages. Then...
"Invalid item in bag, please remove." Take a guess what item I couldn't get.
Congrats to the winners. Three folks here got one. One sold already for $1000. At the show, one of our guys walked into the Mint room - no line and got ticket #495/500! He is having it slabbed and holding out for $1200.
Better Luck to everyone next time! Gotta admit it was both fun and frustrating.

Congrats to all who got one. I unfortunately was unable to. I got to the check out screen and then it switched to unavailable. Bummed.
Agree this is what happened to me. Such bull$hit
I got one, but accidentally did standard (slow) shipping as I was just trying to plow through the transaction. No biggie, I guess.

this was so frustrating....hate the US mint site. NO INTEREST in this coin at all as a result of these antics.

Received an order number and cc charged but email confirmation and order status just say processing. No further details.

This is POOR IT management of that order placement process
