    Nice! Very nice👌🏻

The bitterness of "Poor Quality" is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

As long as you like it you did good. I like them as long as you got them at a good price that is what it all comes down to most of the time for me.

    Hoard the keys.

They appear unnatural in color and the Hawaiian looks cleaned.

They look like they could be Chinese fakes to me.

I doubt it. Unless you've over-processed the photos. The color is all wrong on those. What do they weigh?

I like the eagle on ‘18 half.

Planning on sending it in for authentication/grading?

Since somebody has to say it, I would never consider buying the Hawaii coin unless it were in already in a TPG slab. Seemingly nice coins, but Hawaii would have to be slabbed for me.

I have not seen enough Hawaii halves to opine on the authenticity of the OPs coin. I will be anxiously awaiting the opinion of some experts on this forum.

I think the seller likes the swapmeet even more 😉

You mean you don't buy your $1000 coins at the swapmeet for 50 bucks?

You can buy that coin for $2 on our favorite...er...alternative website - including shipping! They also have Hawaiians, same price.

Obviously, I can't be 100% sure, but those coins do not look genuine to me. Just my two cents. Throw in the fact that they came from a swapmeet...

Could be silver. The real silver ones on the "alternative website" cost $30 rather than $2, but they exist. Look at the letters on the Hawaiian carefully. Look at the "1" in the date, they aren't the proper font. Look at the final "S" in "epluribus", it is too thin. The Hawaiian is definitely counterfeit.

I suspect we are witnessing a "lesson being learned".

Only if I'm learning one. LOL.

Either the OP knows what they are and is just having some fun with us, in which case there's nothing for him to learn, or he is 100% sure they are real, in which case nothing will be learned.

I should learn to just step away from the keyboard. LOL

I wonder what it says about the coin market when coin shop employees buy their coins at the swap meet. I may have to start a new thread. ;)

wow, imagine talking about something you have no idea about?
i work at a coin shop.
i could be some kid they just hired to sell silver bullion?
    maybe sweep and help customers?

I PERSONALLY go to swapmeets with my father who likes to look at junk.
what is your deal? are you ok?

Politeness is important, but I would not take the risk with a raw coin - the genuine Hawaii half dollar is simply not a flea market or a mini-mall coin.

I understand this, if you look at my other posts, you can see i am into the commemorative half dollars.
i was excited i stumbled upon a coin stand and he had a hidden gem. I understand you do not find those coins in the wild, which is why i was sharing. I apologize. I will be careful with what i post

If you are being sincere, you might save yourself some money if you (please) look hard at the photo I posted and your coin. It should be obvious that the fonts don't match. Look especially at the curved letters. You might also note that the "II" in "Hawaii" has no lower serifs on your letters and quite prominent ones on the genuine coin.

Look also at the hair detail and the detail in Cook's jacket.

    ???

It's the same message I've been delivering since the beginning. The Hawaii is a fake. But as long as you like it, I"m very happy for you.

Personally, I'm tempted to buy a full set of Commems from my "favorite alternate website". [RogerB is shouting in purgatory.] At $2 each, it's almost a declaration of war on the counterfeiters homeland. LOL. Let them pay for the subsidized shipping!

I don't see the Hawaiian being real. The reverse just looks to far off. Hope I am wrong and please share the results.
