Nice! Very nice👌🏻
As long as you like it you did good. I like them as long as you got them at a good price that is what it all comes down to most of the time for me.
Hoard the keys.
Excellent eye appeal on both.
They appear unnatural in color and the Hawaiian looks cleaned.

Since somebody has to say it, I would never consider buying the Hawaii coin unless it were in already in a TPG slab. Seemingly nice coins, but Hawaii would have to be slabbed for me.
if i tell you guys how much i bought them for, im sure it would all change.
i got them both for $100.
i LOVE the swapmeet.
Have I mentioned how much I love the swapmeet?!

They look like they could be Chinese fakes to me.
They are likely fake.
100% authentic
Hey, look at this! Could Ali express be reforming and adding copy to the coins!?!?!??!

I doubt it. Unless you've over-processed the photos. The color is all wrong on those. What do they weigh?
@CoinNovice
I like the eagle on ‘18 half.
Planning on sending it in for authentication/grading?
this one's 100% fake
yea, after running them under the XRF analyzer and weighing them,
they are off to PCGS Today!
I have not seen enough Hawaii halves to opine on the authenticity of the OPs coin. I will be anxiously awaiting the opinion of some experts on this forum.

im sorry?
I think the seller likes the swapmeet even more 😉

You mean you don't buy your $1000 coins at the swapmeet for 50 bucks?
You can buy that coin for $2 on our favorite...er...alternative website - including shipping! They also have Hawaiians, same price.
Obviously, I can't be 100% sure, but those coins do not look genuine to me. Just my two cents. Throw in the fact that they came from a swapmeet...
Here's a genuine Hawaiian. Note the difference in shape on some of the letters and the sharpness of the image.

I suspect we are witnessing a "lesson being learned".
hmm. Xrf Analyzer said its silver. Weighs Correctly. I work at a coin shop.
How much more do i need to do?
All i wanted to do was share
Could be silver. The real silver ones on the "alternative website" cost $30 rather than $2, but they exist. Look at the letters on the Hawaiian carefully. Look at the "1" in the date, they aren't the proper font. Look at the final "S" in "epluribus", it is too thin. The Hawaiian is definitely counterfeit.
I believe if you go back to the swap meet you’ll be able to buy more exactly like this
Good luck

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
well i give up haha, unless you want to put your money where your mouth is.
Itll be off to be graded today. maybe tomorrow.
Ill even take a man's bet.
Ill post the submission papers and all.
you seem to be really upset about this coin.
as long as you like it and are happy with it, that's fine with me.
Have a great day! I look forward to the results.
I wonder what it says about the coin market when coin shop employees buy their coins at the swap meet. I may have to start a new thread.
Only if I'm learning one. LOL.
Either the OP knows what they are and is just having some fun with us, in which case there's nothing for him to learn, or he is 100% sure they are real, in which case nothing will be learned.
I should learn to just step away from the keyboard. LOL
you know, i was really excited to share. Im not completely ignorant when it comes to coins,
I understand my name lol but ive been collecting coins with my father for about 10 years.
i myself didnt collect up until recently.
Im excited to see the results my self.
wow, imagine talking about something you have no idea about?
i work at a coin shop.
i could be some kid they just hired to sell silver bullion?
maybe sweep and help customers?
I PERSONALLY go to swapmeets with my father who likes to look at junk.
what is your deal? are you ok?
Sorry, it was just a joke.
I'm fine. And as long as you are happy with the coin, more power to you!
Welcome to the boards!
I don't believe there is any evil intent here, CoinNovice. I think we would be THRILLED if you got a great deal, and they are in fact real.
Problem is:
Please do let us know what the PCGS verdict is. I think we would all be interested.
Politeness is important, but I would not take the risk with a raw coin - the genuine Hawaii half dollar is simply not a flea market or a mini-mall coin.
There is no Santa in numismatics, and I suspect no Santa at swap meets either.
I understand this, if you look at my other posts, you can see i am into the commemorative half dollars.
i was excited i stumbled upon a coin stand and he had a hidden gem. I understand you do not find those coins in the wild, which is why i was sharing. I apologize. I will be careful with what i post
If you are being sincere, you might save yourself some money if you (please) look hard at the photo I posted and your coin. It should be obvious that the fonts don't match. Look especially at the curved letters. You might also note that the "II" in "Hawaii" has no lower serifs on your letters and quite prominent ones on the genuine coin.
Look also at the hair detail and the detail in Cook's jacket.
I hope it works out for you
was that so hard?
@CoinNovice You owe me no apology at all, but you do need to send the Hawaii coin in to our hosts.
???
It's the same message I've been delivering since the beginning. The Hawaii is a fake. But as long as you like it, I"m very happy for you.
Personally, I'm tempted to buy a full set of Commems from my "favorite alternate website". [RogerB is shouting in purgatory.] At $2 each, it's almost a declaration of war on the counterfeiters homeland. LOL. Let them pay for the subsidized shipping!
It will be on its way today or tomorrow.
I shouldnt have made my name what it is...
I haven’t read the subsequent replies/opinions yet, but that wouldn’t surprise me in the least.

Last picture before it’s off boys!
Rotsa ruck. I hope it works out for you. Hawaiian and $50 just do not go together.
The hawaii coin is counterfeit. Pretty sure the lincoln is as well.
Edit- Glad I was wrong! The surfaces sure looked granular like a CFT to me. Congrats!
Unfortunately, this is likely another example of a buyer who thought they were getting a great deal, when in fact, the seller was the one who was doing that. Visions of dollar signs often interfere with clear sight and clear, objective thinking.

What he said.
I don't see the Hawaiian being real. The reverse just looks to far off. Hope I am wrong and please share the results.
