A recent pickup for me. Perhaps one of the coolest design boxes in collecting....
A couple of football RCs. Stydahar is a HOF pre-RC, 1936 Diamond Matchbook.
Yaz Master Set
#1 Gino Cappelletti master set
#1 John Hannah master set
Also collecting Andre Tippett, Patriots Greats' RCs, Dwight Evans, 1964 Venezuelan Topps, 1974 Topps Red Sox
Always wanted one of these and getting harder and harder to find.
Traded for an Aaron Signed NL Feeney baseball to go along with my signed PSA/DNA basic set. The Pendleton is the cherry on top as he was the heart of the Braves in the early 90’s.

here's one picked up today .. signed Enos Slaughter check and card
Before I start, I'm sorry for so many pictures. All of these were purchased last month but I just received them yesterday. I recently started working on the 1970 Topps HOF and All Star sets. Most of these are for those sets. The others are just additions to my collection.
I have always thought this was a cool looking card and got this in the mail yesterday.
I have the Tyson from the set and purchased it already graded but wonder how you handle one of these raw. The little mini card seems to slide around in the frame.
Anyone have any experience putting one of these in a card saver? I would like to crack this out and I am curious how to handle the card.
@jfkheat don’t apologize, beautiful cards and scans! Thanks!

Probably (😄) going to be my only pickup for the month, but was too good to pass up! Up to 107 now for the basic set! 😁😁
A few more for my 89 UD #1 PSA Rainbow. I will spare you the back scans unless you really want to see them. 11 down, realistically 2 left (Authentic (signed hopefully) and 8.5). 1-2.5, 3.5 and 4.5 are all 0 to 12 POP so those will be hard to find.
If you want to see the showcase, here they are 10 to 3..

A good rookie card.

Here are my National Pick-Ups - working on a '61 and '68 HOF set. Been outbid on the '61 Robinson cards in 8.5 or 9 or turned down on every best offer for over a year - picked this one up for the price I was looking for. The '68s were all from the same dealer that had the most incredible group I have ever scene - he had a whole case of 10s and another of 9s and 8.5s. All of them really popped. The Bench looked much brighter than his 9 and has a centered back which is difficult for that card. The Aaron special makes me down to 2 more of those. The '66 Kaline and '65 Williams were just cards I found that I really liked for the grade - not part of any project but fit in with my overall collection. I really had fun at the show - being local to Chicago it makes it easy for me to go every other year. My nephews are getting into cards so my brother and I did Friday for the kids and then Saturday for us.
You are really going quickly on your 1970s - always like seeing your cards. You have a nice collection.
Another Roy auto for the collection:
Main collecting focus is Patrick Roy playing days 85/86-02/03, expect 1/1, National/All-Star stamped cards.PC Completion: 2,548/2,952; 86.31% My Patrick Roy PC Website:https://proy33collector.weebly.com
Took the plunge on this lower grade Mick. Always wanted a 53 and can’t afford a 52! I think it presents decent and I liked the clarity on Mick’s face and the Yankee circle.
Many years ago- almost a dozen- I moved cross country here to Vegas for a) better weather and b) more enjoyable work. I had to shove a whole bunch of stuff into multiple storage units and was only able to pack enough to completely fill my Toyota Camry to the gills. Somehow shoved six 5000 count boxes into my back seat area and drove 2800+ miles here. Once I found a pad I rented a storage unit and into the unit went these boxes along with a metal storage cabinet so they'd stay dry and safe. Fast forward to early this year when I decide to upgrade my pad and relocate. Newer pad is great so I decide hey let's upgrade it all so I can get back to doing my cards again like I used to. I take out one 5000 ct box and start going thru it. I realize its all 1950'-80's stuff I've relocated from MA to CT and now to Vegas.
A bunch gets separated and sent out to the Team Collectors and roughly 400 or so I decide to grade. Batch 1 has just come back in the latest PSA sub.Was happy to see that despite dragging these cards around since the mid 80's I was STILL able to keep them in good shape
I also got these back as well from this sub. The Fournette came from a FREE pack of Panini Pack a Day an ebay seller sent me for buying his stuff- certainly appreciated that gesture !!
Hopefully next year I will be able to attend my first national and have the same experience that everyone else has had on the forum. As my internship winds down here in Vegas, I wanted to pick up some baseball cards before heading home. I picked up 69' Topps baseball to help with that set and finished off my 76' baseball set. However, I saw these two cards up for sale and I felt like I had to have them. I have to say, 1956 Topps are the most beautiful cards I have ever seen and will be my next set I start.
For some reason, I've been gun shy on picking this one up, but finally decided to go for it tonight:
And then added this for the master set given the decent price it was listed at:
Main collecting focus is Patrick Roy playing days 85/86-02/03, expect 1/1, National/All-Star stamped cards.PC Completion: 2,548/2,952; 86.31% My Patrick Roy PC Website:https://proy33collector.weebly.com
I finally have one of these on the way. As far as I know this is only the second one of these to show up on EBAY since they came out earlier in the year. The first one I missed and it was really cheap. I'm still regretting that. One of the few times I could have used a sniping program. I definitely overpaid for this one, but the search is over!

Picked this up for my BB Post War HOF RC Set. This puts me at 40% with a GPA of 9.50
Ok folks more stuff scanned this morning. These came from several recent box breaks I took part in
What I really like about 2019 Stadium Club autos is the on card aspect. While I dotn collect post-2007
I occasionally will make exceptions for certain stuff
Really nice Jeff.
Agree with the "on card" autos also.
Didn't do TSC - since I did do Finest this year - autos also "on card."
edit: I think the graders are getting tough on what they call a 9 vs 10 - sometimes I can't tell the difference?
Steve,
I love the new project! Great start!
Today’s arrival...
A few pickups over the last couple of days, the rack packs are from BBCE at the National
Since I couldn't attend the National, I had to compensate my FOMO by buying something.

Low to mid grade vintage is my sweet spot. Strong eye appeal a must. And many here know of my passion for the Yankees. Just ensnared and enamored by them for all the same reasons as everyone else. So this pickup is a good one for me in that it’s a rare variation within a rare set that I am working on and it’s a legendary Yankees pitcher to boot!

Picked up this 1973 NHL Players Photo sheet, series #1 this weekend. I may have to try to complete this set but I picked this up because Tom Reid and Keith Magnuson are on it.
One of the few 10s I hit in the first quarter bulk special:
Tough to tell Mike but most of the grading differences in modern stuff post 1995 lie in surface and corner issues. Centering on many items requires repeated exposure to the series to determine although any time the standard card formula is used gets easy. Finest is a prime example of where spending time looking at corners & surface would pay off. Surface on the other hand a lot of items tend to have foiling issues and chipping problems- similar to how 70-80's cards had the same chipping headaches. Edges are like the last thing anyone looks at or cares about as very few items possess that problem- becomes more prevalent on thicker items.
I'm too old to care to waste time looking thru some loupe- I eyeball it and if it looks close I send it. I've sold cards from 1 to 10 so I accept the lesser grades and learn from them myself. Now if $ mattered and I cared to try and make $$ from a hobby I'd scan it all and send only my best. But never been my forte-- its a hobby and I feel doing it the way I do I keep it that way. I get more enjoyment seeing those mixed in 10's myself
A few more scans done tonight. Catching up on stuff thats sat all week. All these items back came from a box break just doen last month. I had a bulk pop in 8 business days ( while bulks from April sit)- go figure. These are from that bulk sub
Hiya Jeff - my apology for not being clear.
I was talking about the difference in some cases between a 9 and 10 auto grade.
These are some of the favorite cards from my latest sub:
This was my favorite card in the whole sub. For those who aren't familiar, the Optic Preview cards were inserted into regular Donruss basketball boxes and this was the first year of Optic. The Optic Preview cards are exceedingly rare and I don't think there are more than 10-20 of them to be found for each player. This happens to be a Pop 2 now in the grade.
This card becomes my favorite Curry jersey numbered card in my collection. Serial numbered 30/99
I am doing a Topps Chrome Refractor project for HOFers and future HOFers. I was pleasantly surprised to hit 10's on all four refractors I sent in this submission. The Pops on these are pretty low: Kobe (22), Duncan (4, and I have now subbed two of them), Bosh Pop 2 and 1 respectively.
I also extended my run of Luka Doncic Optic parallels. Most of these are the first ones I have graded, although this is my fourth Optic Blue Luka. They are numbered /49 and I now have four 10's out of the 49. The Pink Velocity is /79, the Lime Green is /149 and the Premium Box Set is /249.
Awesome stuff everyone!
Couple 1/1's for my Longo collection.
And picked up this 1948 Bowman for a non Longo addition:
Longoria Collector. Love the Longo! 600+ PSA Graded 4,700+ unique Longoria cards scanned on TCDB 800+ different Longo autograph cards Jeff
CPAmike and other auto hounds probably can tell you exactly what they like @ PSA/DNA for 10 autos
I have my own ideas but will defer commentary to the auto experts
Couple more back and scanned
Stoked about the auto-blue! Only a pop of 2!
Great card!
I assume the grade is for the auto?
No, that is for the card as it is not dual graded. If I were to guess, the auto would be a 9.
