BBCE National "Monster" - What could it be?

Just read the latest blog post on the BBCE website and they mention Steve will have an "absolute “MONSTER” of an item" at the National. I don't have a clue, but perhaps it's an early 50s Topps Baseball Wax Box? Dare I say '52? Would love to know if anyone here has some insider knowledge and can spill the beans...

Cannot imagine a 1952 Topps wax box. Would be incredible, and seven figures.

I think a 1986 Fleer Basketball wax case is a reasonable guess. Any wax box from the 1950s would be incredible.

If it's a 1971 Topps baseball wax/rack/cello case, I may have to mortgage everything I have to get it. Hah.

A confirmed unopened box of Summer MTG would be one hell of a monster for a CGC box. I had the weirdest dream the other night that I found a case of these boxes randomly in a deal and made six figures off the case. I haven't bought/sold MTG cards in about 5 years now so this was an odd dream. B)

For those that know a little bit about Magic The Gathering. "Summer" Magic is more rare than any boxes of Alpha or Beta and was basically an attempt to fix some issues with the 3rd Edition/Revised Edition which ended up not going as planned and it is said that 99% of the "Summer" edition was destroyed but a few cases made it out to like Texas, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and I believe Ireland. Look at eBay sales for what these sell for in graded condition and it is insane.

I opened maybe 3 or 4 packs of these way back in the day through Troll and Toad and after putting them away with a bunch of other singles I had forgotten about them. About a decade later when I attempted to locate them mixed in with around 50,000 singles I had no luck finding them.

If a case or cases of 86 fleer were found, would bbce wrap each box FASC, sell in one $500k+ auction, or would a private buyer grab it before others can dream of either option?

Sell as an unopened & wrapped case to someone who can afford it. Steve is in business to buy and sell his inventory fast. If he can flip a full case that is the best way to turn a quick profit. That is of course IF he has it.

There are plenty of monsters to be obtained. Whether it be Mr. Horenchuk's complete run of hockey wax boxes from 1951 through 1980, or Mr. Simmon's complete run of baseball wax boxes from 1950 through 1971. Or perhaps it is Gordie Howe's mint uncut sheet of 1951 parkhurst that he got for free for doing a golf tournament, and now that he's gone, his family is consigning it, or perhaps it is the mint 1952 topps baseball uncut sheets from that owner in St. Louis. It can be any of the above, or countless other "monsters" that are out there, and probably will never see the light of day. All I can say, is that I'm looking forward to seeing it, whatever it is.

Holy wow, someone has a run of baseball wax boxes from '50 to '71? and hockey '51 to '80? I guess I shouldn't be that surprised, but remarkable still and surprised I haven't seen photos (or these owners haven't shared).

Same here wasn't it found out that it was a 4 card pack box or something? I remember it was also bought then sold like 1-2 months after the first purchase for like a 80,000 loss too?also story was a bit off with where it came from. Like the owner opened 2 packs them put the full box in storage afterwards. But what about the 2 packs type thing?

At the top of the blog post on their website that talks about the "Monster" item is a picture of T-206 backs. In several issues of SCD, BBCE ran ads showing the large accumulation of T-206 that they were sending off to PSA. No doubt they always bring insane and awesome unopened, but come on guys, the Monster is clearly that run of T-206.

Maybe within that MONSTER collection they also found an unopened box of t206 packs and BBCE authenticated them as having a card inside. Would be pretty cool to see the cost on those.
