And hot on the heels of the Apollo Commem and Print showing, is the 2019 American Legion 100th Anniversary Commemorative Coins and The American Legion Centennial Emblem Print.

The United States Mint is announcing pricing for the 2019 American Legion 100th Anniversary Commemorative Coins and The American Legion Centennial Emblem Prints as follows:
    Proof Gold Coin w/Print: 2019 Grid + $8.95
    Proof Silver Dollar w/Print: $68.90
Proof Clad Half Dollar w/Print: $41.90

No other details yet. It's not even on the product schedule yet. This information comes via the Federal Register.

This won't be hard for me. I didn't buy the American Legion Commem. Still won't...

    Hmm... An “Emblem” print?

    Here’s the emblem:

    The meaning:

"There shines the Emblem of The American Legion, it is your badge of distinction, honor and service. It stands for God and Country, and the highest rights of man. Of its several parts, each has a meaning."

    Elements of Emblem:

    The rays of the sun
The rays of the sun form the background of our proud emblem and suggests the Legion's principles will dispel the darkness of violence and evil.

    The wreath
The wreath forms the center, in loving memory of those brave comrades who gave their lives in the service of the United States that liberty might endure.

    The star
The star, victory symbol of World War I, also symbolizes honor, glory and constancy. The letters "U.S." leave no doubt as to the brightest star in the Legion's star.

    Outer rings
The larger of two outer rings stands for the rehabilitation of our sick and disabled comrades. The smaller inside ring denotes the welfare of America's children.

    Inner rings
The smaller of two inner rings set upon the star represents service to our communities, states and the nation. The larger outer ring pledges loyalty to Americanism.

    American Legion
The words American Legion tie the whole together for truth, remembrance, constancy, honor, service, veterans affairs and rehabilitation, children and youth, loyalty, and Americanism.

I'm sure all these late additions are really being welcomed by those who already bought the commems... :D

They are the same as came out earlier this year with the addition of the print. A nice second chance with a good design.

What are the total sales across all products? Any chance they're going to sell enough to trigger the surcharge payout?

The Mint populated the web page:

2019 American Legion 100th Anniversary Proof Silver Dollar and Medal Set (19CQ)

The medal will NOT be struck on an ASE blank, but like the commemorative (and WWI medals) on a .999, 1.5" blank.

Mintage Limit: 400,000 silver dollar, 10,000 silver medal
    Product Limit: 10,000
    Household Order Limit: 1

    $99.95 . On sale May 20@Noon.

Considering four of the five WWI commems sold over 10K, this may sell out and become the winner of the American Legion commems.

If I missed it, oops, and this is a reminder.

    If not, here you go:

The American Legion Ag $1 and Veteran medal set is Sold Out.

Geez the mint sure is milking collectors for every dollar in their budgets this year, I can't remember any particular year offhand that had so many variations of the same products essentially.

They are trying their hardest to sell more of these. That’s good I guess.

I already have the commems do not need the print.

American Legions’s are no longer available. End of this commem.

It will be interesting to see if the $5 Uncirculated ends up with a mintage below 3000. Pretty slim demand for lots of reasons including the relatively higher popularity of the Apollo coins in 2019.

I placed an order for 1 when they were on "back order" on December 21st and now they're listed as sold out but I just received shipping notice. I guess I'm getting one that someone just returned?

These were/are far below the mintage limit. They made more for all the backorders.

Sold out generally means that is the end. All done no more to be made.

Commems must stop at the end of the year per the law that mandated their manufacture. For these Apollo’s it’s been back order after back order.

Mint just didn’t have enough on-hand (thus backorder - translate “need to make more”) when the Mint made their last minute end-of-year advertising push.

They could have told everyone, sorry, all done when sold-out posted but since you ordered during “back-order” you should be good-to-go and it’s very good that you received shipping notification but until you get it in-hand...

    Thanks for the numbers, BRJ

I wonder if sub 3000 messages for some of these coins is the new norm.

I think there were many factors last year which led to fewer sales:

    • another more successful commemorative series Apollo
    • popular sales for Pride of Two Nations and ERP ASE 2019S
    • no official publication of sales numbers since Nov. 3rd.
