I received the one dollar Apollo silvers and they do not fit in the blue PCGS 20 coin holders. The baseball curved ones fit if I remember so there must be a slight difference in thickness.
I see the real big square looking PCGS box maybe for ATB's or pucks, but wondered if there is one more like normal PCGS blue ones that hold maybe 15 instead of 20 that would work for the dollar size ones?
Any ideas? I have Intercept shield cardboard ones, but sort of like having them separated a bit and would prefer ones that are more like normal PCGS style.

Good question. Since the 5ozers and other Apollos cannot fit in one box I am expecting at least two boxes when PCGS ships them back to me. Maybe a unique box for the 5ozers?
We shall see... when? No idea, still processing.
I requested that all the OGP and whats left of the capsules be sent back, too.
Onastone, Yes that is the big one they make that should fit the pucks and ATB's, but I have not confirmed it in real life as I don't have one yet.
Edited to say the original ATB's are 3-7/8 x 6 x 1/2". The new ATB one is the 3.93 X 5.35 X .455 per another post. I believe the Apollos are similar width and height but closer to 7/8 inch thick as someone posted. They should lay in there sideways. The documents say it is for the 4 and 5 coin holders but doesn't seem to talk about pucks.
However I still want one for the curved dollar ones, and probably about 15 would fit in a 20 style holder with modified tabs. A normal standard dollar slab is 3/8 inch thick, but the curved Apollos are 1/2 inch thick. I assume they will make more curved coins in the future, maybe basketball, or soccer type if they go on a sport theme.
My 4 pucks have been processing a while, and I sure hope they come back in some container like the big one that works. I will be very disappointed if at least a couple don't come back 70 as I looked them over a lot. The one that had a small scratch I left it out in OGP to display for kids, family etc. I did not want to sell one that I knew was not perfect looking.

Uh oh, the other guys are making moves and trying to catch up. Still open to letting you cheat to ensure the victory!

Ouch, sorry to hear about the tear. Mine was folded but not creased and was able to flatten it with a couple heavy books.
I would probably send it back since the tear would be bigger OCD nuisance then not having it and hope for a replacement from the Mint. You can always get another on the secondary market when the Mint goes sold out.

Edit: Maybe the reason why the Kennedy set sold out?
No, they sold them Apollo $1/2 not Kennedy $1/2. There are hundreds of thousands of Apollo $1/2 still available.
The Kennedy set sold out because of the KENNEDY. There are a lot more Kennedy half collectors than people think. Of modern coins, it is second only to the Lincoln cent (unless you want to throw ASE's in there). 100,000 for a Kennedy is rare enough to create solid value. Even EU and RP Kennedy halves have significant value in those 2017 and 2018 issues.
In addition to normal Kennedy half collectors, the Kennedy $1/2 is the first time the Mint has ever used this particular finish.
I've been saying it for a month, I'll continue to say it. In terms of long term value, your best bet is the Kennedy half in these issues. Too many pucks, too many gold coins, waaaaay too many silver $s and clad Apollo halves.

This is the generic Facebook link for US Mint, will need to scroll down to 6 February for the forum meet with Marc. No FB account required to access.
Today I received my Apollo/Kennedy Half Dollar set from the Astronaut Memorial Foundation. These extremely limited sets are kind of special due to the fact that (from the AMF website):
The coins provided to PCGS are from AMF’s limited allocation of Launch Ceremony product and feature an insert with a hand-signed signature from Apollo 13 astronaut Fred Haise. **
and...
All coins offered for sale by AMF come from the official First Day of Issue Coin Launch Ceremony at Kennedy Space Center on January 24th, 2019. **Only the coins submitted by AMF to PCGS will carry this “Launch Ceremony” pedigree.
And they are hand signed by Apollo 13 LMP Fred Haise who is most famous for the Apollo 13 mission but also was the back up Lunar Module Pilot for Apollo 11, and he played a large part in the development of the lunar lander.
I haven't been able to find out what the quantities of each option offered by the AMF are but it is safe to say the numbers are very small.

I have always had great difficulty getting MS70 and PR70 clad commemorative half dollars for my registry set, especially older ones. The exception are the Bald Eagle, Baseball and Apollo's with pops that are quite high. Those were popular so a very large number were sent in by bulk dealers and they usually do not slab the 69's so those 69 pops are basically irrelevant. Actual 70 numbers slabbed are meaningful.
Be happy with the RP's that came back 70, as any 70 is better than getting none, which has happened to me in the past.
Gluggo...that informational video that MCM has posted for the
$745 pucks has at least two glaring mistakes in it. The video states that the boot print featured on the coin is Neil Armstrong's boot print when it is actually Buzz Aldrin's. Then the video states the reverse side features an image of Neil Armstrong standing beside the LEM from a photo taken by Buzz Aldrin. They got that totally backwards.
I went ahead and bought two of them but the nice lady is checking if they will fit both the 5 oz puck and the Dual holder for the 50c 2 coin.
This is what the nice lady just told me. She thinks the 5 oz buck might be to big for the holder but might be Okay buy it self.
As for the 2 coin holder she thinks you will have no problem getting those to fit. I have both PCGS and NGC 2 coin holders being done for me so I will find out in about 3 to 6 weeks when all the coins come in. In the mean time I ordered the 2 Blue holders and when they come in I will post some inside pictures. The dimension is 4-7/8 Deep x 6-3/8 Wide x 4-1/4 High

Mint informed me that it may take a couple of years (possibly 2 or longer) before all 4 BEP Apollo Prints are completed. Once completed, when you put all 4 prints together, it will form a picture of the moon on the reverse side. IMHO, it looks like these prints are going to be the big winners of the Apollo series. Keep your credit cards up to date!
SoundPoint I never really paid attention when I bought my prints. Are you saying there will be 4 different prints produced? Do you know when the next one goes on sale? I never opened my envelopes on mine so I never actually looked at them just in case I want First Print Status when I send them in.
I'm sorry. I should have said three prints! My mistake. The mint didn't go into detail about how the moon would be displayed. I assumed it would be on the reverse, but I am really not sure now! Anyway, the mint lady said when the prints are put together a picture of the moon is displayed.
Okay 3 prints with the other 2 coming out later this year or next year? Just wondering. I guess I could just read their web site I am sure they mention the 3 prints. But Tyia!

My mistake! After looking at it closer, if you put the three prints side by side, the top 1/4 of the moon approximately is displayed. I completely misunderstood what the mint lady was trying to say. My apologies! She did say that it would take 2 - 3 years for the prints to be completed. I hope it doesn't take this long!

Unless Moneyfactory has significantly changed, all three prints will be issued this year. (They're 2019 prints.) It will NOT take two or three years.

The limited production set will be sold and distributed by the Royal Australian Mint, and will include a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the Director of the United States Mint and the Chief Executive Officer of the Royal Australian Mint. The United States Mint will market the set on its website and provide a link to the Royal Australian Mint’s website for U.S. customers who wish to purchase the product.
Missing from the press release was the date this co-lab will be offered by the Royal Australian Mint.

Thanks. I found it. (really poor audio )
I'll say! This looks excellent!!!!
I avoid opening FB links as I hear from reliable sources that when you do you are permanently signed up on FB, lose your voting rights, all guns in your household are registered, and you have to date older supermodels.
Pipestonepete that is one cool set. It shows the 2 coin holders are all sold out but thank you for sharing. Also looks like only 20 of yours were made not bad! If I am reading the report right.

My US Mint Commemorative Medal Set
I NEVER open them, I deleted my Facebook account entirely, and will never install Twitter, or Snapchat or whatever new thing is out there.
Social media has now replaced the love of money (including coins), as the root of all evil. 1 Timothy 6:10 modern edition.
My US Mint Commemorative Medal Set
Correct.....

Fixed your post.
See the original post. The three prints are already put together there.
Edit to add: You may want to read the original post in this thread. It's apparent you haven't...
Unless Moneyfactory has significantly changed, all three prints will be issued this year. (They're 2019 prints.) It will NOT take two or three years.

Haha Gluggo, you're going to have a fun time taking pictures of that reverse...
I have my new photo set up and I am going to prop a glass at 45 deg and laterally shoot the diffused lighting over a blocked object so it will reflect down when it hits the glass.
I been reading and rpms sold me his setup. Maybe just maybe I can get a good shot? But that is a big maybe this soilder shot was difficult, the glass did not seem to work so I too it out.
Ohhhh Geez I just got the notice just delivered going out to the mail box!
That's a very nice photo and setup Gluggo, you'll get it figured out.
