for $700 in silver content in Washington quarters, you need over 270 silver quarters - there are not that many quarters in that Dansco, and most are nickel/copper clad.
you should call the guy back and cancel any further loss on your part.
find the nearest coin shop and take what you got to see if they would give you anything for your group.
I really like the quarters so tell me what would a good counter offer be? 450.00?
Do you have a redbook? (guidebook of United States coins by Whitman?) if not, I would get one before buying any more coins.
I can not give a good 'counter offer' without knowing what is on the first 2 pages you did not show. Personally from what you did show, I would not want to go over $100. I will link a possibly 'similar' set sold on eBay. Of the final sales price, over a quarter of the value is from the first 3 slots on the first page.
The only thing worth grading in a 2002 proof set is something that is NOT cameo. LMAO
I'm glad your having fun with this, so what the heck is in the 2002?
Remember, I'm a professional. I can't be expected to give away any free advice. Especially since you won't buy my proof and mint sets for LESS than you paid the amateur, I have to make my money somewhere.
what about the 68, 72, 79, 80, 81
If you'd like to put me on retainer, I can give you more specific advice.
Sure! Would you accept modern proof sets as payment?
Lol. That's the spirit!
There's an old saying in the hobby: buy the book before the coin. You should know what you are looking for before you go looking for coins. You shouldn't buy coins and then go looking to see if you stumbled blindly on to something.
Too late I blindly bought these over the past year. The least I could do is show you my baby set of dollars that I do have so far. The dark colored 23 seems to have mirrored fields but its hard to see with the dark color. For your first set of 2002 proof coins from the mint. Did I pay too much? average 28 to 30
I'm going to let others with in here. Would need better pictures. Peace dollars need to be near gem in common dates to get to 30.

Thanks I will get it this week. I looked at that set and it looks horrible and less than half full. This one is complete. So I need to make sure the magnet doesn't stick on the first 3 coins, for sure.
@davewesen said:
you must not have scrolled down to the pictures, because it is much more than half full.
the problem with 1932-D and S quarters is mostly added mintmarks, a magnet will not help you.
Okay, I scrolled through this time but the obvious key dates are missing. So if there is an added mint mark on the 32 I should look for burn damage around the mark? I should study what a real one looks like and google added mintmarks quarters?
Grade between 48 and 54? I think you need to stop buying coins and read the Redbook. Then read the PCGS guide to grading coins. Then watch the PCGS grading video series on YouTube.

You should study for several years and not buy any commonly counterfeited raw coins until you have experience. Or, hope to get lucky. I have a counterfeit 32-D around here somewhere that I accidentally bought as real, if you want one. That was part of my tuition. I have a feeling you are going to end up paying more tuition than I did.
Before you can buy any coin, you need to be able to AUTHENTICATE (1). Then if you are going to buy it, you need to be able to GRADE (2). Then, you need to be able to determine fair MARKET VALUE (3). Until then, you are unlikely to get lucky and more likely to get buried.
Your collection of dollars includes a number of coins that are only worth $13 or $14 as culls (assuming they aren't chinese fakes). You've got a polished trade dollar that might also be an Asian fake. Some of the Peace $s look like they might be nice, but unless it is REALLY REALLY NICE, they don't get above $30.
The good news is that the tuition you paid the nice man this week is probably not an expensive class relative to your previous purchases.
The bad news...well, I think we all know what the bad news is here. Part of me desperately wants to help you...but I'm just wasting my time. But as long as you are having fun and have money to burn, go out there and have fun.

Dare I ask grades you assigned to the problem dollars you paid $30 for on the previous page.
The dollars are far more beat up but have luster, the quarters had more of a (LOL) smooth look no marks and not shiny (possibly cleaned). So that is hard to say. I know I wouldn't send one the dollars in for grading. Unless you told me I got lucky.

I'd definitely pay extra for smooth coins.
If you know most all those dollars are cleaned, why did you spend $30 on them?

I meant the quarters looked cleaned because they were dull not shiny.
Not to mention I have learned a ton of information not all necessarily about coins either. But I feel like I might save 700.00 or at least a couple when I go back to see those quarters this week. Can't hardly wait to show you (eeeeeeeekkkk) or hear what ya'll have to say about them.
If I was presented with an opportunity to view and possibly purchase a coin collection from a private party I would not post a thread on the forums about it until after the fact.
If the collection includes items out of my core collecting area I would educate myself and seek help, via PM or email or text, from those who know the subject matter.

Thank you very much Gluggo! Because, based on all those pics I will be buying my set as quick as possible. Once o'course the 32's are confirmed. All of those looked really bad compared, in fact they wouldn't even compare. If they are getting 250 to 400 for those I'm golden.> @jmlanzaf said:

Given the dollars you bought, I would second guess your assessment of grade. You paid $30 for polished $15 coins
A solid FINE is worth more than a polished VF or even XF.

Is that picture of the single peace dollar polished or the photo?
By chance did the seller have any Big Mac tokens?

Interesting thread.
If I was presented with an opportunity to view and possibly purchase a coin collection from a private party I would not post a thread on the forums about it until after the fact.
If the collection includes items out of my core collecting area I would educate myself and seek help, via PM or email or text, from those who know the subject matter.

Your football team losing is the least of your problems
Sounds really fishy. None of my business really, but that deal would be OFF for me!
Oh sure burst my bubble first thing Monday morning! With all the advice from yall guys, I'm starting to second guess this purchase as well. Whoaaaaa Nelly
Given the dollars you bought, I would second guess your assessment of grade. You paid $30 for polished $15 coins
A solid FINE is worth more than a polished VF or even XF.
I've read through this entire thread. It felt voyeuristic on some level... but, more like watching a train wreck unfold in slow motion.
Op, I do sincerely wish you all the best in your numismatic education, and I hope the price of tuition isn't too costly...
Bonne Chance!!!

We look forward to your crowing about ripping off the nice man, stealing his wife's inheritance. Er...good luck?

Maybe, although he's been around here for a little bit. Either way, it beats the usual damaged pocket change.
I think your account has been hacked based on about 26 comments since you bowed out.
I do appreciate your advice and thoughts.
This thread should be required reading for a course in psychology.
Honest question, honest help, anger, confusion, humor, personal safety. Sharp dagger comments, maybe being played. Counterfeit detection, economics, grading.....this thread has it all.
