Coaches can't challenge turnovers called on the field. Any review of a turnover is at the replay review official's discretion.
There's a report out that its probably Michel's knee not ankle that got hurt and its the same knee he had surgery on during the offseason. Its gonna suck if they lose him for the year too.
Gordon is looking real good......if you just keep him sober and off drugs.> @erikthredd said:

That was the 4th Brady interception this season that got deflected by the receiver. Dorsett,Hogan,Gronk now Develin, its like they're making sure the entire offense deflects one.

both players had an arm around the ball going face down to the ground and Jackson didn't have it entirely until his body rolled over and he yanked it out. Had they challenged possession it probably wouldn't have been changed but who knows,we've seen the refs screw up plenty of calls,it might have worked.
My understanding is that nothing about the turnover can be challenged by the coach. Same as if it was a play in the last 2 minutes. It was called a turnover on the field. The replay official would have looked if it appeared to be a simultaneous catch and signaled for a review since they look at all turnovers.

Maybe you're right. I do know in recent years a coach could have challenged possession on a play like that and maybe there was a rule change or tweak.

Why would you say that they won't last long??
Even when the Patriots have been good, pass defense has always been their Achilles’ heal. This Bears game was a prime example of that. The Bears quarterback is not that good, and he made it close. Gronkowski is ailing and probably will be for the rest of the year. The Pats have just not looked dominant as often as they have in the past.

Not sure who in the AFC is measurably better than the Pats. With Gronk, Edelman and Gordon they have the passing attack to hang with anyone regardless of how their defense plays.

The Defense is obviously the issue but if I read it right this years team tied the franchise record for most games in a row scoring 38+ points.
Luckily all of the other AFC contenders have issues as well. I'm less worried about the defense than I am the RB position going forward. This defense always looks bad against mobile QBs so today was nothing new but the offense is down to just White & Barner who aren't really built to carry the load in the run game. The team also doesn't have much cap space to add much to this team, they had to tweak Stephon Gilmore's contract to free up some money to possibly make a deadline deal.

He'd be way too expensive in cap & picks but I'd call Matt Patricia to see what it would take for Blount. They also still have rookie Ralph Webb on the practice squad, maybe call him up and try to work him into the offense here & there. I don't want to see them give White to much of a workload because if they lose him they're screwed.

Somewhat good news,Sony Michel had an MRI and its being reported that his injury isn't as bad as expected. He'll miss time but its probably not going to end his season. Also just heard on the radio that Rex Burkhead is due back around week 11-12 (was put on the 8 week I.R.), I thought he had gone down for the year. NE still needs some major RB depth brought in but it looks like they'll be getting a couple guys back at some point.

The Chiefs game is going to give us a real idea of how well we stack up against a solid Super Bowl contender in my opinion. I still think the Rams are the very best team in the NFL, followed by the Chiefs.
as exciting as the KC offense is no way they can win a superbowl with this defense. Plus once Mahomes gets a bunch of games played and coaches get some tape on him he will come down to earth like everyone else
Kind of like how Brady got a bunch of games played and coaches got some tape on him.
They were really able to stop him cold after that.LOL.
How come Goff of the Rams hasn't really come down to earth? Coaches should have a bunch
of tape on him now and he seems to get better and better! I think maybe your premise is flawed.

Definitely not on defense when they've given up 71 points the past two weeks bur you can say the offense is with four straight games of 38 or more points.
I mentioned this already but it’s worth bringing up again, I saw during the Chicago game that this year’s team has TIED the franchise record for most consecutive games scoring 38+ points? That really surprised me, I swear the ‘07 team was scoring in the 40’s nearly every game.
Somewhat OT: I remember in '07,even with all the talk about how unstoppable the offense was, having a queasy feeling after the final regular season win against the Giants. And then with the playoffs. It felt like we were hanging on. Maybe that is just me looking back.
This season, to me, feels like we are building this offense in a different way. I guess it is just that it feels sort of unexpected. I thought, at the beginning of the year, we would struggle to be able to score this many points. Watching these last few games, I get the impression that we are building towards a really effective and powerful offense that can both score at will and eat clock.

Not sure if this will make sense to any of you.
In 07 it was different. Even though they really destroyed some teams on the scoreboard, many Pats fans spent the final two months of the season waiting for that first loss to drop and unfortunately it came in the SB.
This season has the offense looking very good the past month but all these injuries to Gronk and their running backs might catch up with them later on.
‘07 was a perfect example of Belichek keeping starters in way too long. I remember late in the season against the Giants and if I remember Baltimore too Brady slinging it downfield late in the game trying to keep that undefeated regular season . Whatever though it is what it is
The 07 team was crushing other teams, the 2018 team has had close games other than the Dolphins game. Bill’s ‘bend but don’t break’ defense has not been able to hold teams to as many field goals in the red zone as the past. Would love to see Patrick Peterson on our team, I like the idea of making runs while we still have Brady & Gronk.
