The Pat's look worse than the Eagles did in the first half of their game. It's hard to believe that a Belichick team will get blown out, but this could be the first.

Tough loss, Bortles played well and their D line was able to pressure Brady. Thoughts on Bill punting with less than 8 minutes in 4th quarter down 11 points? (4th and a football length).
Not only did they get beat badly they also lost Flowers,Chung & Wise for who knows how long. Next up is Matt Patricia's Lions, you just know he'll have some type of wrinkle on defense for Brady after running his defense against him in practice for years.
I think punting was the right move that deep in their own territory. 8 minutes is plenty of time to get the ball back twice needing only a field goal and touchdown. Obviously didn't work out for them but was the right call.

I agree but I wouldn’t have questioned it had they gone for it, I mean Bill has been known to go for it on 4th. Basically what we are seeing is the result of a questionable team that Belichek has put together, last week we were all pumped up about depth on D for pass rush blah blah blah but this could potentially be a rough season, but as we all say in NE once we think the Pats are down they turn it right around. A few more games will tell the tale

Pats send the Browns a 2019 5th round pick and if Josh Gordon doesn't appear in 10 games Cleveland will send NE a late round pick (assuming a 2019 7th)
Hopefully he can get caught up quick and at least be able to make a couple plays a game for NE. I wouldn't expect much more than that. At worst he'll make the defense account for him with a top CB freeing up someone else.
I would have rather given up a 5th rounder to get Danny Amendola back.

I’m really not looking forward to listening to Tony Romo, I liked him at first but he has worn on me too much
I think he is wearing a little bit on Jim Nance as well, given a few exchanges over the past year between the two. Tony is really vocal and excitable, speaks in a higher volume, especially compared to Nance who is used to those low key/voice announcing golf telecasts. But lately I noticed Nance has amped up his volume and challenged Tony at times.
Successful transactions:Tookybandit. "Everyone is equal, some are more equal than others".
Now Belichick needs to blow everyone's minds by signing Dez to a 2-3M deal for the remainder of the season. We'd see Brady in shotgun with James White lined up next to him then have Edelman & Dez on one side with Gronk & Gordon on the other.
Really like the Gordon signing. His outside speed should spread the field more and when Edelman returns, defenses can’t double team Gronkowski the entire game. I felt the D-line did a great job pressuring the Texans, but weren’t able to do the same to Bortles. Hopefully the injuries aren’t that serious (Flowers, Wise, Chung).

That would be awesome! But the difference is Gordon was basically free, I mean a 5th rounder?? That’s nothing, Dez wants $$$$ and I bet the Browns will sign him now, I bet that is “Part” of the reason they let him go

Well put and it makes sense, There is no doubt he is spot on with predictions as far as what play is going to be run and dissecting them but yea too loud and excitable is the best way to put it. I don’t hate the guy but I was not exactly excited that he was in the booth for the game.

Maybe Bill can feed Dez the "we got something special going on" BS then talk him into playing the last 14 games at 3M. If Dez buys in and helps the Pats make another SB run,he'll have plenty of teams that will come calling next offseason.

He's had teams call ,Baltimore who offered 7M a yr and Cleveland who has a ton of cap space, are the two teams we know of. He wants a chance to win while making as much money as possible and has repeatedly mentioned that he wants to play for NE.His agent would have already made him aware of NE's available cap space of roughly 4.4M so a larger salary would be out of the question. I'd bring him in just to be a decoy most of the game where the opposing defense will have to use their top CB on him. Next best corner would have to line up on Gordon leaving Gronk with single coverage on a LB or safety.
Have Brady throw 4-5 passes a game to each of Dez & Gordon while still throwing the majority of targets to Gronk,Edelman,Hogan, Dorsett & White.
I’m shocked Baltimore offered him 7mill a year and he turned it down, I know Flacco is awful but still. Not a chance the Pats would offer him close to that, however if he sincerely cares more about winning than money it wouldn’t hurt the Pats to throw an offer out there, BUT Belichek will need to find someone to cut, he probably has a back up FB that he won’t get rid of in case of some crazy scenario and in his crazy mind he just can’t find a spot for another player
Now I’m hearing there is a snag in this Gordon deal. It’s soneth stupid like a conditional compensation if he don’t work out or something? I hope Belichek doesn’t destroy this

Hopefully he just takes the conditional 7th and moves on so Gordon can start working with Brady.
