That road looks early! Do you know how far back it's history goes?

Located on Beacon Hill and a rich part of Boston's historic roots, Acorn Street was established in the 1820s and is home to Mt. Vernon's illustrious gardens. On one side of the narrow, cobblestone road lie the mystical gardens, and on the other, well-maintained colonial homes. At one time, 19th century artisans and tradesmen inhabited these homes, which are among the most photographed treasures in Boston today. With hotels, restaurants, and shops right around the corner, it manages to feel like an escape from the bustle of the everyday. There's only one word for Acorn Street – charming.
Walking up and down the street on a biting November night, admiring vines covering old brick and harvest decorations sprinkling each doorstep, you will rediscover the simplicity and beauty of another time. You won't feel like an intruder, but rather like a part of the colonial majesty, becoming a resident of the street, an inhabitant in one of the noble, carefully crafted homes, a neighbor to fellow tradesmen, and a frequent visitor to the gardens. You can almost hear the clip-clop of hooves and the creaking wheels of a buggy in tow, making it hard to believe the Four Seasons and Ritz-Carlton are only half a mile away and that Ristorante Toscano, DaVinci Restaurant, and antique shops are alive around the corner. Come rediscover this tranquility, forget the monotony and chaos of the everyday, and immerse yourself in Acorn Street's timeless colonial charm.
@asheland
number 4 Acorn St sold for 3.1 million with a lot size of 23' x 35' = 0.02 acres in 2018, the most recent sale on the street, they probably don't come up for sale too often

A little known piece of Movie Trivia - While best known for having authored the series of books upon which the James Bond films were based, Ian Fleming was also the author behind the Hollywood Film, "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," a story that he wrote for his own children.
OK. if you have seen Dick Van Dyke's character Caractacus Potts and his flying car in "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" then you have seen this castle as he and the children circled over it and then landed to confront the evil Baron who resided within.
For this weekend's posting, here are some less seen views of Germany's iconic Neuschwanstein Castle that I took on an early early morning walk before even the caretakers arrived. It was pretty cool having the castle all to myself as a consequence of having stayed the night before at a lodging in its shadow.
The lodging, followed by the castle views:
The lodging, followed by the castle views:
And some views from inside the castle taken in one of the few areas where photos were allowed:
And a view of the castle and its surroundings as seen from a distance after our departure:
An added photo taken inside the Neuschwanstein Castle - a placard identifying where King Ludwig II ("Mad King Ludwig') , who built the castle, fit in the succession of Bavaria's Kings.
And adding to the Movie Trivia theme, the locale surrounding Neuschwanstein Castle was the filming location for World War ii storied film "The Great Escape" as depicted in this book from the nearby gift shop.

Thanks for sharing. Having been established in the 1800s I assume this is not a part of the "Freedom Trail?"
There is a street in Kyoto which has similarly retained its original character. It is located in the Gion District and is best known as being the home of the Geisha. Given the propensity of the Japanese for taking pictures I am guessing it might challenge Acorn Street's claim to being the most photographed street.
The entertainment district of Kyoto known as Gion has long been associated with geisha (or geiko, as they are known in Kyoto) and traditional Japanese arts. Hanami Lane (hanamikoji, see map) contains some of the most beautiful traditional architecture in the district. This lane stretches north and south, intersecting Kyoto’s central Shijo Dori which leads to Yasaka Shrine. Hanamikoji’s southern end is a flagstone path lined with well-preserved historic teahouses.

Gion district owes much of its historic charms to the many antique machiya which line the streets. Machiya are wooden townhouses built for city life, with the front of the home usually sectioned off for use as a shopfront. They’re often long, narrow and built up to three stories high, possibly to evade the land taxes of the day which taxed the width of a building and not the length.
That was the Sylmar earthquake 6.5/6.6 I was 6 years old I remember driving around looking at all the damage with my parents or was that the northridge one?
Correct. 1971. 6.6 EQ I was 13 and woke up to severe shaking in Fullerton CA. Lasted about a minute. One of the reasons I became a Civil Engineer.
