Added a toned gold (1851 $2 1/2) to my collection
Toned gold is quickly becoming a major love of mine. I just added this to my collection today. It has pinks which transition to reds, purples, and blues. The pictures do not show the colors as much as in hand (the best angle for viewing has the light reflecting in the camera). It is graded MS62. -

Help ID this 2 1/2 shilling small iron token?
This came in a larger group of mostly "normal" coins that was about half from Great Britain. There's not a whole lot to go on from the token itself. It's iron (magnetic), 16 mm. For lack of a better idea, I'm thinking maybe some sort of WWII emergency money? Does this ring any bells with anyone? -

Why are there 4 VF grades, yet only 2 F and 2 XF?
Let's see... G4 and 6 F12 and 15 VF20, 25, 30 and 35 XF40 and 45 AU50, 53, 55 and 58 AU I can understand. Close to UNC, so differentiate more. So what makes VF so special?
