Help ID this 2 1/2 shilling small iron token?

This came in a larger group of mostly "normal" coins that was about half from Great Britain. There's not a whole lot to go on from the token itself. It's iron (magnetic), 16 mm. For lack of a better idea, I'm thinking maybe some sort of WWII emergency money? Does this ring any bells with anyone?

Never seen or heard of it. At 16mm, it's way too small for anything actually trying to be a halfcrown.

I'd assume it's a piece of play money.
