Re: How to deal with orphans?
. Good suggestion for Ferd VI 1/2 Escudo, however I can't seem to create the set! Every time I hit the button to "Start this Set", it shows a list of all the possible coins, and waits for me to enter one to get things going. In this case I would want to select 1758-S JV Stars, however since PCGS set currently does not… -
SOLD: 1913-S 5C TYPE 2 MS65 PCGS CAC

The 1913-S Type 2 is one of the rarest and most coveted coins in the Buffalo Nickel series, making it a key date for any serious registry or collector’s set. As a GEM, this example offers exceptional eye appeal, setting it apart from other pieces. Finding a high-quality GEM of this rarity is a rare opportunity, as such… -

Did you know there's a 1793 cent graded MS69?

I recently learned this and was shocked that (1) any coin left the Mint in 1793 as a 69 (or maybe it left as a 70?); (2) nothing happened to this coin in the last 233 years to knock it below 69; and (3) the coin was stored so well for so long that it had no environmental issues. Link to last public sale -… -
Odds and ends on some newer baseball stuff
1 - Griffey Jr cards are on fire. One that isn't keeping up as much as you would think, the 1990 Fleer Canadian. SGC pop 2 for 10 and PSA pop 32 for PSA 10. Really low pops of a brand that has a very low print run. Maybe the lowest of any of the major brands, ever? I just picked up an SGC 10 for $275. There is one PSA 10… -

Re: 1956 Proof Type 1 Half - Coin received, new photos attached
Maywood. I have seen three Type 1 halves in hand that have frosted devices on both sides. Two have been graded by our host. One is the PF66CAM I made that now sits in my Registry Set of proof Franklin halves with major varieties. The other is a PF68CAM CAC previously owned by Winesteven. The third coin is the raw coin I… -
A NEWP of a Gold $1. Type 2 Small Head Indian Princess

While this is one of the two common dates of the one dollar type 2 Indian Princesses, finding an acceptable example takes some work. Even though this is only an MS62, it has above average luster, and the strike is only slightly weak at the central portion of the reverse, which is more often the case than not. For me, the… -
1824/2 Dime, Variety JR-2

There are only 2 varieties for this year: JR-1 and Jr-2. Both share the same obverse. The reverse in JR-2 is different from JR-1 in that the top of the 1 is pointed. There are minor differences in the word AMERICA as well (the spacing of the letters being closest on JR-2). I've had this example for some years now. It is in…
