Re: Anyone need any 1972 Topps baseball?
boston, There was a thread a while back that had the "low pop cards from the 60's and 70's" in it - I did a write up on probably the 30 toughest cards in the 72 set. I can't locate it right now, but hopefully someone remembers the name of the thread and can supply a link. The top 5 toughest are probably #178 Paul Schaal In… -
Re: How come Will Clark never made HOF?
Clarks best season (number wise) was his last 1/2 season in St.L. at 36 years old ........ made no sense to retire when he did, it killed his chances for HOF based on 588 ABs, his last year averaged.......... 41 HRs, 51 2Bs, 144 RBIs, .345 AVE, .655 SLUG, .426 OBP Before that though, his power numbers always looked to be… -
Re: With the bullion market soaring, what is the current pricing for slabbed common Saints graded MS 63,
If it helps any the price of MS65 saints has gone up slower than the price of bullion! (17% for 65 Saints vs 27% for bullion since the August lows). The 64's have barely outpaced bullion at 29% since the last August low around $655. That should answer your question. Lots of premium gold and silver will be swallowed up to… -
Re: Poll: Which plastic will sell for more this weekend?
Might be a little bit biased if I were to vote To date, the highest price ANY sample slab from ANY company has sold for that I am aware of is $655. That was for an ANACS club slab with a 1922 Grant Commemorative Gold Dollar in it that had a greysheet bid well above that price anyways. There was also a hand cut Doily Sample… -

Re: 1980s Wax Packs and some CU fun
I guess I qualify at getting one of the better pulls from the 89 Topps set, since SMR only lists 2. Too bad it's OC. Here is what I got: 15 Robby Thompson (went to my high school) 74 Nick Leyva 227 John Farrell 299 Steve Ellsworth 343 Gary Sheffield (love those diamonds) 397 Don Mattingly All-star 499 Don Heinkel 514 Chet… -
Re: Mike Piazza retires
I started a thread here on the Sports Talk forum. I don't see Piazza's card greatly appreciating in value. The problem is that his "key" rookie cards (1992 Bowman and 1992 Fleer Update) are overproduced and not of considerable value. /s/ JackWESQ P.S. I don't necessarily see Piazza going into the HOF as a Dodger. Did you… -

Re: opinions sought: 1822 bust quarter
if I recall correctly, on ebay a 1822 is for sale in a PCGS F15 holder, has as a scratch from the mouth was listed at $655 for sale by larry???? (I don't remember full username). I would think OP's coin would holder, I've seen worse in PCGS holder. OP's coin looks nice & original, scratches not significant enough to keep…
