Re: Hard Times Token, Feuchtwanger Cent, and Civil War Token thread!
Nice token Rob. The leftmost piece of the wreath next to the "M" in Millions leads me to think it's an HT48, but that whole grouping of HT35-51 is so close, it's hard to tell. The HT number he gave me makes me suppose these Feuchtwangers are catalogued with the Hard Times Tokens? I wonder if they are in my Rulau… -

Re: oh my........ looks like GOLD!! is on a crash/downward sprial???!!!!!
<< <i>No but if you bought it in 1988 not much of a return on investment. Three things will happen buy and sell for the short term and make or lose money or hold on for the long term and you on average would be better off in bank CD's. I don't see the fascination in this gamble. >> Thanks for posting the long term chart. A… -
Re: Price of gold ????
The gold from mom and pop will come out of the woodwork at $800 but the investors and nations looking for gold as a hedge will have only increased. That gold will get sucked up very quickly. The rise towards $800 will be far quicker than it took to go from $260 to $500 (4 years). Any by $800 more people will want gold than… -
Re: Sold Out Please Pay! BBCE December Football Rip
Ripped my packs. Didn't pull the monster, and centering wasn't great. Here are my top three. The Csonka is nice, but had the gum on it, will try to get that off. The Tarkenten has a dinged lower left corner. Otherwise, no other star power. Best of luck to everyone else. Was a lot of fun regardless. Let me know if you need… -
Re: Two biggest newbie mistakes
I guess a lot has to do if your buying at the "peak" of a market or the "bottom". I don't think too many faired well in their purchases towards the end of the last market in the 80's. On the other hand I've done well buying these so called low grade common date MS staints and libs for around $300 to $325 when the market on… -
Re: My first consignement to Heritage was great, for the buyers - Jan 13th update
I really dont know how to react to this. I did try to get reserves set for a while. Never could get them to do it. In fact I never signed the paperwork as I want to get my reserves in place. After emailing for weeks and 4 days before the sale I was told if I placed reserves I would have to 15% buy back fee Here is a coin I… -
Re: What are YOUR career stats?
I was mostly a high pop out or home run hitter in high school. Played catcher/defensive tackle (5'10" 255) do the math... Made City All-star my Jr year mostly due to the 18 home runs in 20 games(BA was .285). Played football my senior year then graduated mid-term and joined the Army. My popularity was for my home shots for… -

Re: Best Consecutive Five Year Runs of Mattingly's era...Rice, Dawson etc...
Example on RBI opportunties for Rice and Murray...1983. Rice 126 RBI Murray 111 RBI Yeah, looks good for Rice, BUT.... Number of runners on either second or third... RICE 165 MURRAY 129 Murray was knocking in Runners from Scoring positin at appx a 36% rate at that time. So at that rate, given even amount of opportuntites,…
