    << <i>Kevin/Jim,

I agree with you guys. If the Mays is short printed, $325 will be a steal for that card. Do you think Mays will have a red ink or will it be like the Koufax of 2011 with a blue ink only? >>

If Koufax and Mays had regular print runs we would of seen a lot more by now.
  • Been to a Heritage ripping party and busy sorting. I should have a list of my hits soon! image

The Heritage preview of the Koufax red auto was numbered to 10 instead of 63. I seriously doubt that Mays, Koufax, and Aaron blue autos have a 200 print run.

    Craig from Texas
  • I started my hobby case last night, and decided to see if there were any blasters at Wal-Mart. Here's my question: Does Target and Wal-Mart get blasters that have their respective short prints in it? The Wal-Mart I went to had 8 blasters, but the odds on the back made no mention of the blue borders. The rack packs above these had the blue borders listed odds at 1:4. I went with 12 rack packs instead of 3 blasters since they had the odds listed. Anyone know if the sealed blaster boxes should have been exclusive too?
  • magellanmagellan Posts: 2,099 ✭✭✭
The Walmart blasters definitely have blue borders.......the packs themselves say it but not the box.

Bubba is a very good choice Nick & Bubba !

Thanks for the variation pics Geordie. I have the #54 if you need the scan I posted it Monday night.

My case arrives today but "signature required" I'm going to be out later this afternoon, sure hope it gets here prior to that.

My case just walked in the door! Got a pile of work I need to do first, but I have a feeling I'll stagger that with a box rip here and there

    Hello.

Thought I was going to buy some boxes but the store was out already and decided I will just pick up Phillies.

I'm looking for two Heritage Phillies team sets with or without SP's. It does not matter. Would like in nm/mt or better shape.

Would also like to get leader card #'s 1, 5, 7, and 9. NAP Lee and Halladay. Then and Now - Lee/Spahn and the two Image reversal cards of Lee and Halladay.

If someone has all or most let me know what you want for the group. If not bites in a few days, I will go the ebay route.

    Thank you,

    Tony (aconte)

Any other Phillie not mentioned I might be interested in too....

Has anyone figured out what it cost (approximately) to get one of every card on the current checklist?

All the duel autos, clubhouse collections, black refractors.....etc

I guess you would exclude the the cut signatures and the buybacks.

I am looking at everything in this product....I'm not good with all the pricing and / or values but I wonder what the value of that set would be.

And that would be just for one year of Heritage...I would imagine that it would take a while, months or years.

    $10K (?)

If you could wait a while you might be able to do it for under 10K. The expensive cards will be the autographed dual patches and the three big autographs, which right
now look like big short prints. Here is a good place to be for starters!

I wasn't considering doing it, just didn't know if anyone does.

I guess if I own a card shop and access to wholesale pricing...it would be fun.

But for $700 a case you can't even get a "master set" together (not even the basic subsets), it seems like a long shot (they added a lot variations)....maybe something to think about for '65 or '67 set.
  • Mick65Mick65 Posts: 722 ✭✭✭
I mean are Image Swap relic variations necessary?

The coins and the stamps and JFKs,.... I mean there are seven sub groups of autographed cards, do they do focus groups and test markets on this stuff

Edited to include.................but they're still the only thing I enjoy collecting....
  • So how many sets 1-425 can you get from a case? Since the cards are a little thicker, what size box do you use for the base set 1-425?

I busted 5 blasters from Walmart, my best pull JFK: A Profile In Courage.

I can't see more than one full base set. But I'm not the expert on that.

The autos are being pulled with some frequency in the retail, so I'm disappointed that the case didn't have any.

    Good luck Dave!

You'll get about 3 or more base sets from a case. Should get a full "mini master" set from a case

Mini master being. 1-500 nap, t&n, fb, news. No stickers JFK or variations

Heritage cards fill boxes at about 70% of the stated capacity

So 660 ct holds around 450 cards
  • TNP777TNP777 Posts: 5,711 ✭✭✭
    good luck, Dave!

Jim, I haven't ever seen a full "mini-master" set from a case. Now, if you're talking about it being complete after trades, then yes. But right after ripping? I don't think it's possible - the collation has always stunk.

The first box was interesting to say the least. Didnt follow any pattern of my first 3 but simular to Daves. Top row middle pack was ink, second row all three packs had a refractor.

1 Add panel Molina, Abreu, Jennings
    2 Chrome
    1 Chrome Refractor
    3 stickers
    1 NAP
    2 TN

Ok this is kind of crazy. After I got ink in the first box just expected a relic which i got in the first row. Second row again contained the chromes. Then I pulled a blank white card.

    1 Ad Panel
    2 chromes
    1 Chrome refractor
    3 stickers
    1 CC- Weeks
    2 NAP
    2 TN
    2 BBF
    2 NF
    image swap-Didnt notice one.

The I pulled this, it had like a lottery ticket scratch off on the back, scratched it off and it says UGOTURHITS4DYEAR , not sure what to do with it... image

  • just got done sorting the base cards from my hobby case. was able to put two base sets sans SPs together, probably about 6 cards short of a third set.
i ranged anywhere from 2 - 9 of each base card.

Not sure if anyone but me cares, but there is a lot of snow and PD issues with the base cards, especially on the coloring. Being a "centering" guy, the surface issues were aggravating and i will have to go back and upgrade some of them at some point.

Good grief, it is scary that even with a case you weren't able to put together a master set.

I think the value of that set and the cost to put it together would be substantially different, as you'd never be able to sell it for even close to the money it would take to assemble it.
