Hmmm... Financial Planner/Advisor, Risk Appraisal Consultant, wealth creationist/preservationist & certified in long-term care planning.

After 30+ years, it's still fun, challenging, and as every situation is unique, so, too, is the knowledge that comes with it. Retirement isn't a target so much as it is a mindset, and my mind is set to enjoy it 9 months of the year.

actually my profession is a was

aerospace cnc machinist...certified early in cnc programming....ran them all it seems too...mills and lathes...alot of cnc 5 axis 3 spindled cincinnati gantry work...conventionals if i was in "tha mood" i'd have upto 3 going at same time utilizing kick-off dawgs

a boss early in told me to machine like i race...so i did

best contract i worked on was boeing a6 intruder wing spars
raw ti forgings cost $100k weighed in at 7,500 lbs...18" high by 12" width by 36' long...every month we'd finish 3 and send them to everett weighing 180lbs with a finish tag of $750k...talk about nerves...on my gantry table i had responsibility of $2.25 mill not to have a bad day with...one mistake and that was all she wrote...of all things i even made a tooling plate for heat treat...imagine one solid piece of steel 20 feet wide by 40 feet long 6 inches thick...boring 4" diameter holes for 4" diameter dowel pins..."yup" that was quite a piece of tooling i got to make

koolest was part of a qualifying team at omneco div of morton thiokol corp (the outfit responsible for shuttle solid booster rockets) and a major sidewinder factory...the team i was assigned to was qualifying on the "h.a.r.m." missile
    and
whittaker tasker div...part of design with the "mips 130" a radar image scatter electronic box which if hostiles painted a b1b with radar it would diffuse the radar and send back 7 images

    factory rats aye...image

scariest thing i ever was part of was with crossed anchors on my arm...i qualified on every position of a naval twin 3 inch 50 mount...unless you never been there....standing in between 3"50's and feeding those breeches at your knees while at a rate of 35 per min...it's just quite a place to be....you bet i earned my "battle E"

I knew a "Digger" Last name of O'Dell and called himself the happy undertaker >>

"Digger" O'Dell is a man who digs dumps and 100+ year old outhouses as a hobby looking for antique bottles. He has authored books on the subject and I was talking to him yesterday in Baltimore at the worlds largest bottle show. Who knows, maybe he's a mortician also.

Nice to see how many of you are "self-made" and "working for the man"

While coin collecting is seen as the hobby of kings (Farouk) and those who inherit their wealth (Green), the majority of the hobby is still people of modest means who take an interest in history and must work to be able to afford the occasional coin purchase.

I am a resident physician. Hiya to the other docs around here.
