Here is the highest grade piece I have, an AU-58. There is quite a bit of luster under toning that I did not capture in this photograph. I fell in love with this one when I saw it at a recent Baltimore show.
I would advise you to stick with a certified example of this type at this and higher price levels. Large numbers of these coins have been cleaned, and many have been re-colored.
It's a handsome coin, if real, but for the money I'd dang sure wanna see it wrapped in TPG plastic.

i would like to see how many regular pcgs/ngc examples would actually pass a sniffer/shield submission
my guess is very few, even from graded holders

Thats the truth brother. I have improved somewhat in my grading skills but I still get skunked now and again. Its just not worth
the trouble anymore, unless i've got it in hand and have a chance to get an experienced second opinion, Then maybe.
