If you owned these coins which one would you keep?

jetblack740il · December 8, 2011 9:50AM

US-Phil 1945D 20 Centavos

kimber45ACP · December 8, 2011 9:51AM

Bottom one.

commoncents05 · December 8, 2011 9:51AM

Tough call, I like them both. If I had to pick, I would keep #2.

The bottom one ... no contest.

CCC2010 · December 8, 2011 10:07AM

Bottom one.

relicsncoins · December 8, 2011 10:09AM

I like them both. I prefer the lighter toning on the second one, but the first one appears to grade higher.

Billet7 · December 8, 2011 10:10AM

Second one.

Billet7 · December 8, 2011 10:10AM

But they are both quite nice. I agree that the top one is likely the higher grade.

hockeyfan9 · December 8, 2011 10:26AM

Both. I would keep both.

jetblack740il · December 8, 2011 10:38AM

To make it more interesting, I have the individual side of the coin posted for your evaluation. I will post the grade later.

AUandAG · December 8, 2011 10:41AM

Top is a nicer coin but bottom has better eye appeal. Dip the top one and keep it!

bob

LanLord · December 8, 2011 10:43AM

Is there any reason you can't keep both?

DennisH · December 8, 2011 12:05PM

Bottom one.

mkman123 · December 8, 2011 12:13PM

I like the second one a lot

Unknown · December 8, 2011 12:18PM

This content has been removed.

GRANDAM · December 8, 2011 12:21PM

Could you dip both of them so we can see what they look like without all the rust on them?

It would be much easier for me to give you an opinion that way

GrandAm

P.S. I am NOT kidding.

BLAST WHITE is RIGHT

Both those coins really would dip out quite nicely.

Cam40 · December 8, 2011 12:31PM

I like the top one more actually

to add: You can see better the sword in the lions paw with the top coin.

tightbudget · December 8, 2011 12:50PM

2nd

melvin289 · December 8, 2011 12:55PM

I have an 1945 20 centavos I got in change years ago. I don't believe it is a terribly expensive coin. Keep them both and decide at your leisure.

I prefer the more intense colors of the top one; however, I expected most to choose the even toning of the second.

DorkGirl · December 8, 2011 1:33PM

I can see no reason not to keep them both.

fcloud · December 8, 2011 1:38PM

I prefer the bottom but I would call the top one 99.99% and the bottom 100%. Really close and a tough call. You could do what Dorkgirl said and keep both.

MidLifeCrisis · December 8, 2011 1:47PM

Bottom one...

On second thought, sell them both and buy a nicer one.

Bochiman · December 8, 2011 1:52PM

Does eye appeal or grade matter the most to you?

To me, a coin needs eye appeal or I don't want to keep it, so the bottom one is better....from your pictures....to me.

jedm · December 8, 2011 2:00PM

Those are a couple very nice examples! This has always been a favorite coin design to me. And because you asked which one I would keep, hmmmmmmmm it would definitely be the second one.

TPRC · December 8, 2011 2:04PM

Top one looks to be higher grade. Both are nice. It would depend on eye appeal.

Coinerww2 · December 8, 2011 3:13PM

The bottom one has much more pleasing toning imo.

Justlooking · December 8, 2011 6:39PM

I don't like the toning on the top one. You can't make out the design on the coin. I'd keep the bottom one. Regardless of the grades, the bottom one is a nicer coin.

TwoSides2aCoin · December 8, 2011 8:13PM

As collectible goes, the coin with the most is usually the best. Color helps draw attention, but does little for exposing the reality, which is "lack of strike detail". I prefer the bottom coin for strike detail, eye appeal, and luster. The top coin has character.

ajaan · December 8, 2011 10:13PM

ricko · December 8, 2011 10:58PM

In that condition...neither one.... Cheers, RickO

messydesk · December 8, 2011 11:11PM

I like the bottom one better even though it looks like it has more contact marks. The toning on the top one is a bit distracting to me.

johnny9434 · December 8, 2011 11:23PM

id keep the bottem one as well.

jetblack740il · December 9, 2011 12:02AM

What a nice group of response, thank you very much. The only reason I want to know which one to keep, is because the bottom one exibits more contact marks.
After seeing all the comments, I am now keeping both of them. Here is the grade on the top one.

TheBigB · December 9, 2011 12:05AM

I'm late, but I like the luster of number two better.

TwoSides2aCoin · December 9, 2011 12:09AM

That helps to silence me.

jetblack740il · December 9, 2011 2:00AM

Here is the other grade.

If you owned these coins which one would you keep?
