No 'dis to you Shiny -- you got caught in the cross-fire. Kud's rant is credible, us "outsiders" in these third-world countries of AK & HI are often subjects of unfound postal-racism.
My $4.95 small flat rate priority parcel anywhere costs the same for of you, anywhere (in the states). And no worries, just because AK is one of the wealthiest states in the union right now with a $30+ billion dollar savings account, means we'll just take our biz somewhere else. Eh?
OK, to stay OT -- I think I found an NP1 light finish. Hmmm, what to do...

Hey guys. I just took another look at my Ystone P puck that I had graded before anyone was aware of the different finishes. Is that a little too prooflike for a P? What do you think?

The satin finish is apparent, but it's hard to judge the degree without a full VB side-by-side. My hopeful is at our host presently so I can't compare yet.
Are you comparing it with another in hand?

Yes. This one seems to be much more reflective. It's not like those that look like bullion - this received the finish, just not as much. So I guess this might be one of the "light satin" finishes that PCGS labels. Either way, I guess it wouldn't hurt to re-submit. The obverse is a little messed up - has a few spots/stains:

I'm not sure how well you can see this, but their finish has more of a sparkle to it than the Yellowstone. Both my Yello and HS have a different finish - it appears to be the "light satin" finish.

Ok thought I would let anyone who cared that if you have a light finish one DO NOT SEND TO OUR HOSTS. They will only recognize the NO VB as a light finish. I have already talked to all involved and they do not want to hear that there are 3 versions of this coin. Sorry also to hear that the Original Poster Devious coin which is clearly a NO VB ended up in a light satin holder sp66. So to any others who are thinking of sending in a coin that looks lighter than the others save your money and time. I am truly disappointed that our host are not open to any discussion, they decided which to call light finish even tho this thread proves there are 3 types of finish. Good luck all guess its time for a change Enjoy

Does ATS grade all 3 finishes?
Successful coin BST transactions with Gerard and segoja.
Successful card BST transactions with cbcnow, brogurt, gstarling, Bravesfan 007, and rajah 424.
<< <i>Interesting....all of the NGC "light finish" releases I'm seeing on ebay as part of MCM's sale do have apparent blasting. I wonder how NGC would handle the coin Devious has, which appears to have considerably less than those pieces---at least from the pics I've seen. >>
My understanding is that if they saw a piece they believed was lacking the finish completely, they would call it "unfinished" instead of "light finish".

From my research on these, there were maybe 5 or 6 without any VB at all. Than there are close to 1 percent of the light finish and I have counted alittle over 40 light finish from across the street and as far as I know All of those have been the light finish coins. Like devious and shiney there coins were without VB at all and our host considers those light satin? No One has stepped up without the VB to say hey this has no VB so they should be in there own holders. After hearing about devious coin being graded a light finish that sealed it for me. We all know his coin had NO VB so how can that be a light satin? I will send my buddies across the street and than will see..............Enjoy
It certainly appears that PCGS is washing its hands of this entire series. I recently sent them a PCGS FS Ystone & a PCGS FS H.S. Both are clearly LIGHT SATIN and were holdered before anyone knew about the light finishes. I asked that they be re-holdered for the light satin finish. I just got them back & nothing's changed. No light satin designation. $84 down the drain.
