2011 Silver Quarters Set --> current price $41.95 --> when silver hits $46.39 the silver value in the set will be worth the list price of $41.95

2011 Silver Proof Set --> current price $67.95 --> remove the $5.06 in non-silver coins and that leaves $62.89 --> when silver hits $47.00 the silver value in the set will be worth the list price of $62.89 of the non-silver coins.

Check out the prices at your local dealer. I don't buy Proof sets from the mint any more because I got too many coins with spots, fingerprints and marks.

Funny, I didn't realize I still had 10 sets of the Silver Proof at $56 a pop in my Mint account waiting for a non-expired card to ship.

    On their way.

Was going to order last night but decided to wait for the uncirculated set on Tuesday. If it's just a buck or two higher, with the combined shipping it might even out. Might be wishfull thinking. We'll wait and see.

I don't understand WHY they are "repricing them".

I mean, it's not like they had to pay $43 an ounce to have em made up since the silver for these coins cost them about $17 an ounce if purchased in March of last year.

I guess it's kinda like gasoline. When the price goes up, it includes whats already in the holding tank and not what was just purchased.

Oh well, for those that ordered these just for the profit, selling them on ebay is a bad idea unless a .99 cent auction format is used.
The $36.95 BIN's I had for the 2009 Sets (bought at $29.95) cost me $4.43 in FVF and $1.44 in PayPal Fees. I think I netted about a buck off each set before finally selling the last 10 on the BST.

Don't know about the above statement....I just finished selling my 2009 silver proof sets for almost $70 a set on the bay....& the statehood silver quarter sets are selling for $40+
You must have sold yours last year & not recently.

Mine were sold in Early February ($30/oz) and Early March ($35/oz).

I could have probably netted more had I ordered 40 sets but there were no guarantees that Silver would continue its march. No doubt, had I sold them this past week or even this week that the prices would have been different but the point I was trying to make is that an eBay BIN will eat up a lot of the profits.

I understand that which is why I wasn;t selling what I had at cost but I was under the assumption that the government pricing was static with Silver since even if they sold at their original issue price, they'd still be showing a profit. The 09 Silver State Qtrs Sets sat at $29.95 for weeks even though the bullion price was within a couple of bucks of that $29.95 price.

But, whatever. I thought about picking up more of the 2011 sets last night but I'm just too financially strapped right now and there's nothing of significance that has been reported in these sets errorwise. The 2009's, on the other hand, had that die indention error which was reported by Claire Hardesty and written up in Coin World. The possibility of getting one of those added a little bit to making the commitment on those sets.

Hopefully, all these folks that are stocking up on these are checking the coins out.

The horror of the process is that the "repricing" must be published in the federal register, and that can literally take weeks.... silver repricing doesn't happen over night like the already published gold and plat price grids

I had a feeling this past weekend they would raise them this week, so I put an order in, and they charged my card today so I am safe. I picked up 5 Silver proof sets and five of the Silver State quarter sets.

foolishness on the part of the eBay buyers.

These are temporarily off sale for a price increase. They will return for sale on the mint web site, just at a higher price. The higher price won't be anywhere near $90.

    Silver sets are back.

Based on this April 15 post, it looks like the Mint decided NOT to increase the price.

    2010 Quarter set 39.95
    2010 Full set--------64.95
    2011 Quarter set 41.95
    2011 Full set-------67.95

  • I just load up on silver proof sets - I think this are winners
