The buyer is getting his money back! I have another card to dump onto my Willie Mays, and Big Chief pile.....I seem to be everyones favorite turd....go ahead and sell me your $2,000 heacache....I can put it on my pile and then everyone can pile on about how much of a low life I am for collecting bad cards.........

Where is the moment we needed the most You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost They tell me your blue skies fade to gray They tell me your passion's gone away And I don't need no carryin' on
You stand in the line just to hit a new low You're faking a smile with the coffee you go You tell me your life's been way off line You're falling to pieces every time And I don't need no carryin' on
Because you had a bad day You're taking one down You sing a sad song just to turn it around You say you don't know You tell me don't lie You work at a smile and you go for a ride You had a bad day The camera don't lie You're coming back down and you really don't mind You had a bad day You had a bad day

Bobby,
Take a deep breath and step back from the computer.
If anyone else did the same thing as you, they would get the same amount of grief.
On the other hand, if you said something along the lines of "I'm sorry, didn't realize the back had an issue (be it paper loss or whatever) and it was an honest mistake. I'll refund your money and take this up with PSA.", I guarantee people here would be tripping over themselves to help. Instead, you continue to claim that you did absolutely nothing wrong and played the everyone-is-out-to-get-me-for-no-reason card.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

I'm sure all auction houses have the same policy. If it was me that bought that card, i wouldve been happy with it. So what? It has a little white spot in the red on the back. Big freaking deal. Even Psa 10's have flaws. If someone bought that card and didnt have the white mark on the back, you could crack it and send to psa and come back trimmed or altered. Should we all just send our cards back for refunds?
This problem has been blown way out of proportion. I, personally would not think twice about refunding a fellow board member once I get the card back in the same condition I sold it. It really does not make me feel good to have a buyer not happy with their item. Yes, there are those buyers who buy something on approval, but those are in the minority. Most who posted about refunds stated that they only get a handful of requests and simply honor them. In the overall scheme of things, if 99% of your sales are good and only 1% end in a refund, big deal. That is how the real world operates. Its nothing personal. It does not make you a pushover or anything to give a refund. In this particular case, I see the the buyer was not one of those in the minority. He bought something with a MAJOR DEFECT that was not disclosed. The seller probably did not notice or maybe he did, that's not the point, though. Correcting the problem with the customer should be the point.
If the buyer is getting his refund, that's fine. Now let's focus on Bobby. Once you get the card back, contact PSA and see if they are interested in buying the card back. At this point, having that card keep bouncing from new owner to new owner would not be the best thing for the hobby. I am sure you can sell that card on ebay and it will be bought around what you paid for. Not everyone will notice that back. Its not something I would do or promote, but it demonstrates how easy it is to miss something. I am sure it was something PSA missed.
This is a perfect opportunity to see if PSA owns up to its reputation. Let us know how it goes with PSA. If they do not cooperate, we can all dog pile on them like we do to all others
"So many of our DREAMS at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we SUMMON THE WILL they soon become INEVITABLE "- Christopher Reeve
Final price was $827. One can only assume that the poor (and careless since the back was shown in its full glory) buyer was unhappy and then passed it on to ML, where s/he took a several hundred dollar hit. So there have been at least 3 buyers (MH buyer, bobby, and RyGuy). We know that the MH buyer and RyGuy certainly didn't want the card for some reason. The middle buyer dumped it as soon as he could make enough to buy lunch, so more than likely he wasn't enthralled with the card either.
I made two calls today...one to ML, one to PSA. ML did not return my call. At PSA, I spoke to a nice woman who works customer service, and she told me to return the Jordan and the Indian Chief missing his ear, and PSA would look at it. I was also speaking with a board member who had a similar situation with an overgraded card he received off Ebay, and he made me feel extremely at ease, and confident that PSA would take care of this. Since I have never dealt with them in that capacity before, this is a learning experience for me.....
<< <i>The middle buyer dumped it as soon as he could make enough to buy lunch, so more than likely he wasn't enthralled with the card either. >>
The middle buyer is not a professional dealer, but rather, someone who enjoys the game. He has been known to make alot, make a little, break even, and lose quite a bit on his purchases. He does it more for the enjoyment of the "game" than the monetary reasons.......
PSA might say that the back is acceptable for the '8' grade. I have no idea what they are going to say....They told All Star Cards that this 1959 Mantle #10 PSA 5 is acceptable to have a surface wrinkle on it...check the link please.....

Fair enough, but if you're going to make completely idiotic business decisions like kicking out $575 for a best-case-scenario profit of $10 then you should expect to get torched a fair amount of the time, and you should quit this 'woe is me' crap when it happens. You're like the guy who hits the dice pits, bets hoppers all night, and then complains at the end of the evening that he 'just don't got no luck'. Dumb bets usually yield bad results. Steve, I think everybody's right. The same card was sold by both Mile High and Memory Lane in 2010. Scott apologized because he was not aware of the ML auction. Or, perhaps I'm lost.
Anyone who believes that Bobby did not know there was a problem on the back of this card before he sold it is crazy. Go peddle your garbage and lies somewhere else bowman boy.
There is a locked thread on another buyer dissatisfied with bobby's cards. You can still find it under the title:
"Please be careful in your dealings with bobbyw8469"
He eventually gave that buyer a refund according to the information on the thread. The card was a 1955 Bowman in raw condition that was authentic, but trimmed.

In all seriousness, I'll say this about Bobby. He's very knowledgable and quite professional at most times, especially when someone needs help... Good goin Bobby.
But just try and ask Bobby about one of his own auctions and or descriptions... And he turns into a complete idiot??? What the hell???
Out come the trolls!! As hard as you find it to believe, not everyone notices the back of the cards. Myself and a few others on this thread admitted that! Go back under your rock troll! As stated before...I am a dumping ground for peoples bad cards......they unload them on me, and then OUT COME THE TROLLS!!! ROTFLMAO!! Carry on little troll!
Ya well I was just saying what was real. You ignore and pretend you have no idea what anyone's talking about when it comes to your own auctions. "I don't know what that means, I only graded it once, I don't know what this means...". But outside of that you come off like a real expert everytime.
I made my post calling bs before the reverse scans were posted but knew something was not kosher. Bobby gets a card that was obviously overgraded (ask for reverse scans next time or end up in the same situation) then decides to pawn it off on the next guy, the latest buyer (rightfully) complains and Bobby plays dumb (ignorance is no excuse) and then wants to see if the board will back him (without the full story, images, etc.) in telling the buyer to pound sand. tarheeltreasurehunt has been blocked! Why not list the card on your eBay account vs the message boards. Reviewing Bobby's posts on CU AND frequent Net54 (99% BST post...unless complaining about bad customer service, etc....lol), from my first post calling out Bobby, I knew exactly what to expect. Fortunately, PSA has a guarantee. Bobby should be willing to accept grading vouchers, since you s the bed once again. What a waste of energy! Hopefully you learn from this situation so you do not put OTHER PEOPLE in uncomfortable positions that they did not bargain for...
For whatever reason, if someone is ever not happy with a purchase from me, please let me know and you will receive a full refund. If I make an error or omission, you will receive free shipping in every direction and likely an apology and gift for your troubles and wasted time. If PSA makes a mistake, I will take it up with them or contact the previous owner directly versus putting you in an uncomfortable position and making it a public issue.
That troll looks so happy with his big brown eyes and purple hair. Just look at the huge smile on his face! I bet his girlfriend was in a giving mood last night.
LOOK HERE CUZZ BUZZ! Who died and made me the BAD CARD VIGILANTE?!?!?! I got the Jordan back today, and I am going to send it in the PSA under its' GRADE GUARANTEE service, but the point is, IT SHOULD HAVE NEVER GOT TO ME LIKE THAT TO BEGIN WITH!!! I bought the card in the last ML auction (who STILL hasn't call me back by the way!)......this exact same card was sold over the summer through MILE HIGH's auction house!!! Who knows how many times it was bought and sold over Ebay! Other people have owned this card and noone has accepted responsibility to say it was overgraded. I have sorta semi-deep pockets so I don't mind being the one taking the hit on it, but the point is IT SHOULD HAVE NEVER GOTTEN TO ME TO BEGIN WITH!!!! You want me to man up Arachaphobia???? I want others to MAN-UP!!!! Whoever bought it from Mile High should have been the one to turn it in back to Mile High....but NOOOOO....It gets passed onto Memory Lane!! You want to give me grief about it??? I am the one who is still standing as the music has stopped and everyone else has grabbed a chair!! .....this is my last post on this subject......you Arachnaphobia need to get off my back!
