I've had the same question about several pieces I've owned . . .the proofs tend to jump out a bit more . .

<< <i>Could in fact be a proof...however, it's the bluest IHC I've ever seen listed on this forum!!
That is coming from the LED lighting on the Dino-Lite. Will try reshooting without.

I have owned a couple of PR 62 an 63 indians so I am not in total agreement with the statement that its not a good enough strike.
It could be a proof ?I would get on coinfacts and use the images they have for a diagnostic reference
"Seu cabra da peste,
"Sou Mangueira......."
And no, it is not a proof.

<< <i>It doesn't have the strike, the edges or the reflective surfaces of a Proof. I'm not being facetious here, but why would you even think the coin might be a Proof? >>
Mainly because I was told another coin in the book I am selling was a proof and this one looked very similar, and so I wanted to be sure before I listed it. I really have not spent much time with proof IHC's and so I played "ask the experts"
Thanks for your comment.
<< <i>To turn the question around….What factors make you think it is a proof? >>
"Objection, your honor, asked and answered" .
“But your honor....I was trying to lead the OP into a deeper visual examination of the coin so that he might learn and remember key differentiators between collectors' proofs and circulation strike coins."

"While I applaud your noble intentions, overruled".
"Oh, no your honor, I didn't say anything....just clearing my throat."
