Aside from the 1/2 eagle I bought for my real estate agent (the deal went through, by the way. So I guess I'm officially rich now), I picked up some tidbits to celebrate:
And this one, just because I can

Back in '07 when i was shopping for a good daily driver, I had my choices narrowed down to 2 vehicles. The FJ or the 4 door Wrangler. Took the Wrangler cuz of the little bit of extra interior space.
HA, yeah I'm a tad jealous of the FJ. I have a 99 wrangler I've DD'd for 10 years and got a chevy pickup last Nov to give that heep a well deserved rest. Was debating an FJ at the time as well but the deal I got on the truck was too good to pass up. At least I'll get to drive that FJ when me and the missus go over to visit.
Now, the news/rumor I've been hearing of the Gladiator jeep pickup being greenlit for 2012 model year is another option.
I've been waiting for PORN day to get here! I had a good week! Here's my haul.
I purchased these on Monday... UNC roll of 54-D Franklins, + few misc quarters & AU frankins. The OBW dime roll is "tails out" so I have no idea what date they are but they're Denver Mint.
I purchased these Wednesday! Check out the serial number on the A-mark ingot.
Oh yeah... and I bought a little yellow stuff too. Melt +$25 for this Indian. I think it's AU-58 ish.
All the A-mark 1oz bars I have seen have had the A0100 or A0101 "serial numbers" on them. Its not a real serial number, but probably more of a batch number.
Just got home with 2 complete sets of Johnson Matthey "old poured" bars. Engelhard and JMC both made these hand poured sets in the exact same sizes of 3oz, 4oz, 5oz, 7oz, and 10oz. The 4 and 7 oz bars are the prizes of the set. A big thanks to Tom and the great people at Harlan J. Berk in downtown Chicago!

Not really. My dealer said someone keeps coming in with a JM 10 gram bar but can't decide if he wants to sell it or not.
So I stopped in to see if he had. Not exactly. My dealer semi-pawned it for the guy. He's got until the 1st to decide if he wants to come back for it. After that it's mine.
It's nice. One of the Cortez (?) mine bars. So the obverse is standard JM looking, the reverse has the mine logo.

Cool pics! No newps for me this week. Or last week. Or next week. I want to finish my roll of 2010 maples by the end of the year, but that might be it unless there's a significant pull back.
<< <i>Picked up a few nice bars this week. Thank you ebay 10% off coupons!! >>
What? What?? And I didn't receive one? Spent over $(too much)k on eBay so far this year and they didn't send me a coupon?

I've actually sold silver for more gold these past two weeks. But, oddly enough, I've still managed to add more of both to the stack.

No major newps this week except for a nice 5g Suisse bar with the Liberty design. So, my son was sleeping hence I had some time this morning and decided to go the bank and take the content of my deposit box to shoot my whole collection. I have to say that I am really happy with the variety of my PMs.
wingsrule, what size is the JMC bar? I see no size listed?
Ciccio, awesome collection! I love the variety, my eyes were just darting around staring at different pieces. I saw a 3.20 oz Argor Chiasso bar, not 100 gram which is 3.215 oz but it said 3.20 oz! It was thinnish and flattish, actually pretty neat and you know that I've collected bars before so I have seen a lot of silver bars but never saw this one before. The store wanted 80 which was steep I think.

Wingsrule, ahhhh. I saw one like yours on the bay back when I was collecting. It was marked 14.10 oz and came in a wooden box thingy. Maybe yours is like that one.,

The photo does appear that way, but in hand the wrap is very tight.
Personaly, I think a little flap just untucked... but who knows.

<< <i>What's the premium for OBW? I'd bust that sucker open and look if it was under 10%. >>
I bought it for 14x face.
I might open it at some point, but for now it's safe in the SDB at my bank.

I think you just went to the B&M simply so you could have something newer than yesterday to post for today's metal porn.

<< <i>After looking at all the images of newps in this thread, it seems that alot of board members have switched from buying gold to buying silver. >>
Agreed. Silver is breaking out, and people are jumping in. I'm still putting over 80% of my money into gold. Slow and
steady wins the race.

Busted
I did just buy another 1/2 oz Au though
This is the front of the art bar........
This is the reverse side of this silver art bar.......
I looks like a Silvertowne bar that might have been minted in the late '90's or early '00's but I am not completely sure. I paid $21.77 for it today.

Last week I traded 2.75 oz of gold for silver. I think there is more upside in Ag compared to Au at the moment.
