Would you buy Morgans for $14.50 a pop?

Just asking because my dad's local coin shop offered Morgans to him for $14.50 a pop, and he gets to choose which ones. Turns out the shop owner bought quite ab it of them and is in need of cash since his more expensive gold coins are not selling. The shop cant even get rid of silver eagles so he sent them in to get melted

Damaged and badly worn U.S. dollars are always a bad deal unless they prices cheap (close to or under melt).
The jerk in China loves to make Morgan dollars, and if he's doing it with lower than standard grade silver (less than 90%), you could be in for a screwing.
absolutely, especially if I get to pick them
And
How much for the silver eagles?
unless they are too warn. some silver guys dont want coins under VF.
Many members on this forum that now it cannot fit in my signature. Please ask for entire list.

I don't see what the point is in melting silver eagles, since they're essentially the highest tier of bullion that you can buy.

Where's the shop located, on a deserted mountain somewhere?

<< <i>Melting silver eagles because they can't sell them? That shop is doing something very wrong if they can't sell ASE's.

You have to know the area and you will soon realize why nobody is buying silver eagles. Coin shops are very scarce, and the owner cannot sell his higher priced items which is where he makes his money. What good is it if he buys eagles below spot but still cant manage to sell them. Demand is just not there for silver. Amazingly but true, and me having lived there I can tell you that probably 90% of the population is not aware of the value of silver, hence the reason why theyre not selling.
Its too bad that I dont live there anymore since i am military stationed overseas but Im damn sure to send money over for some Morgans. I mean Morgans below melt value? Cant really pass on it
