There are no words to describe just how shocked I was when I just read the news.....so many times I have read about deaths and robberies on this forum and I had no emotional ties with these individuals so while the news was sad....it really didn't hit home. In this case Lou wasn't just a forum friend...Lou was a good friend that I looked forward to hanging out with every year at the FUN show. He was simply a great human being, great personality....passionate about coins and passionate about life.

He really makes the old saying about the good die young come to life for me and I am extremely heartbroken for his family and friends like myself who will miss him dearly.

I am going to miss you buddy....thank you for be a good freind. image

This is very, very sad news. I always enjoyed his posts, and I enjoyed meeting him in person at the FUN show and discussing coins and especially Shield nickels. A true gentleman and a true numismatist. We will miss his wisdom and wit on this Forum. May he rest in peace. We have said prayers for his family.

This is so sad. Lou and I never had the pleasure of meeting in person, but we discussed silver type among other things quite a few times. And of course his nickels. Much too nice a gentleman and far to young to leave this earth, may he rest in peace. image

I always appreciated his wit and knowledge - I found him to be a diplomatic straight shooter.

I am deeply saddened for his friends and loved ones.
