    So very sad. I looked back at the PM chats we had and realized what a great young man he was. I didn't know he was so young.

    I have two boys and I am so deeply sadened to hear of any young person's passing, and especially one on our boards with so much enthusiasm and kindness. My heart especially goes out to his folks and young sister.

    What a huge loss.

    I have shared several PM's with Chad as well. I remember that he was kind enough to take the time to point out a typographical error in one of my listings on my website when I was getting out of the Navy in 2007. He was very kind, polite and confident. His parents should be very proud.

    Actually, I've been struggling with that somewhat as of late. Everyone seems to want to know what I will study in college - and I just can't decide! I enjoy so many different subjects - History, economics, accounting, business, sales, biology, medicine, and many others. I can't decide whether I want to be an economist, or a doctor, or a historian. I really enjoy coin collecting, and I would love to do that as a business, but I fear that turning my hobby into a profit-making pursuit may ruin it for me.

    I don't want to end up in a job where I dread waking up in the morning and having to go to work. I want to be happy to return to work each day.

    He touched many of our lives. He wanted to work for MrEarlyGold in another PM we shared. We argued in a couple of PMs over semantics (which I still feel stupid about). He was a numismatist through it all and I will miss him.

    I will certainly miss Chad. As a parent, I can't imagine, don't want to imagine, what his family must be feeling. I'm heartbroken for them. A bright young man like Chad should never be taken so young. I wish his family God's Peace.

    Chad was the winner of Broadstruck's essay contest - the consensus winner - and
    I had a another prize as well for my personal winner. He was thrilled to win a choice
    01-P Barber Dime in PCGS 58 and a 1924 Mercury Dime. He was very polite and seemed
    like a fine young man. I am truly shocked at his early demise.

    My sincerest condolences to his loved ones.

    This is hard to believe. We hadn't spoken by PM in about a month, but I never supected . . . I knew that Chad was hospitalized third week in March for pneumonia, but had been released.

    I was looking back through my PMs and dealt with him several times as both buyer and seller. He bought a toned Morgan from me and I bought it back a couple months later. He had the Mad Marty weenie dollar on the boards wanting an offer and I made him an offer of $20 and 2 Happy Meal gift certificates, which he accepted. I bought this proof set from him off the boards.
    Great guy, who I did not know was 17. This is a great loss to his family and the numismatic community who will be sadly missed.

    I both sold to and bought from Chad, and I enjoyed my PM conversations with him. He was always eager to hear every bit of coin information he could bather. What a heart he had. I shed a tear for Chad, and my prayers go out to his greiving family. We have suffered a great loss.

    I was fortunate enough to consider Chad a friend. He was an asset to numismatics. He will be missed. Truely sad indeed. God works in mysterious ways.
