I'm still not(will never be) convinced that a key date coin sold raw in higher grade is a good gamble..

But, some of you may think otherwise and I accept the reasoning for both sides..

My theory is, "If it's raw, high grade, and key date", why not slab it? A lot of these dealers with large feedback scores surely know what TPGs are.. and I'm sure they have ways to get things submitted.

It's a way of mitigating risk.

I don't agree with either of you because of this fact, fraud is very common on eBay and it is not safe in my opinion to buy raw coins or currency if you A)Are new and don't know much about grading(Like a lot of bidders) or B) It mitigates risk and there is very little subjectivity.

Sure, I have nothing wrong with buying cheap $20 raw coins but high priced raw coins... yikes, I'd be more careful... I'd rather just buy a slabbed one.

No, Ken, the point is is to bring awareness again about this issue plaguing eBay and the coin community in general. Frauds, deception, misttatements on listings, etc.

    Thanks!

  • He's gone, period (until/unless he comes back as ANOTHER alt). Lets just move on, as this thread could go on forever about someone that, not only was nothing but a distraction, but yes, does need help (as evidenced by his many youtube vids). His vid aimed at US falls on deaf ears (it SHOULD, he's dug his grave and his ebay sales will be scrutinized from here on). Lets just forget about him and concentrate on helping the 'winner' get the justice he/she deserves, from winning a blatantly misrepresented coin, unless the winner is 'one of those' winners.. image

  • << <i>Again guys, he messed up with the auction. Lets not try to judge the rest of his character. >>

You must be asleep. This kid's tough-as-a-nickel-steak character is all this thread has been about. The only way this auction fits into that is it was the last straw for a lot of the members, here.

<< <i>BNBAnalytics is on right now, but wasn't earlier. >>

BNBAnalytics, if you're indeed online, just a little advice: you're not dealing with a bunch of idiots, here. While you’re long on confidence, you’re short on experience and knowledge. How long do you expect a bunch of collectors is going to continue to relate seriously to you, with that horseship(sp?) attitude? You want to win friends and influence people, you might start by analyzing that.

Sorry to have dug up such old posts, but since I did not see an answer, I'll go ahead and give an answer:

<< <i>There is no way to know how many watchers there are on an auction that is not your own, unless you have developed some way to hack into Ebay's servers which is something I surely wouldn't be bragging about on a public forum. >>

There is actually a website that allows you to see how many watchers there are on an item, and it is quite accurate from what I've tried out myself.

    www.watchcount.com

You even get a nifty search option to search by most watched.

It appears that the item in discussion currently has 50 watchers.

FYI, I just got this link to www.watchcount.com from ATS.

Anybody familiar with it? It appears to only show "watchers" for items that have bids though.

Perhaps, this is what SD4000 used since it does show the watch count for the 38-D 3 Legger.

    My apologies SD.

    I'm a loser!

Keep in mind that eBay decides on and limits what items are considered popular enough to appear on WatchCount.com. (See "What constitutes an item as "popular" enough to be displayed as a search result on this site?".) For example, if an item hasn't even received its first bid, it probably won't appear in our search results. That said, here are some things you should consider when inputting your search query:

The thing with a person like this is that they'll never learn, either because of a lack of desire or a complete inability. In his case it's a toss-up. He's got the world completely figured out and is smarter than everybody else. I think he should go into politics!

Actually, he didn't get bammed ATS, neither did his alt. The user 'TheMightyDuke' absolutely HAMMERED the kid, relentlessly and ruthlessly (some of 'TheMightyDukes' posts were deleted, and, like here, BNB had a post locked). The last post 'TheMightyDuke' posted ended with something like 'put a gun barrel in your mouth, pull the trigger'...it was a CLASSIC drubbing! He linked so many of BNB's youtube vids, the kid is hared.....members have been ASKING BNB (who goes by his given name, Jarett Jay Casessa ATS) to block them...it's a three ring circus wherever that kid goes. That user ('TheMightyDuke') got bammed when BNB whined, but only for 7 days. He would have been given life here. As MJ said, the threads started by BNB spiralled so far out of control, so quickly, the threads were moved from the Coin Forum to The Water Cooler

BNB is so disliked ATS, even the COMICS people are tearing him a new one. It is CLASSIC!
    I'll come up with something.

say are you a lady comic book collector that goes by not*sure over there? as Jarrett knows all and says so

No, that is NOT me. I have spoken with 'AC'. She and her husband were burned out of their home, lost their pet cat in the fire. The forum members were gathering donations for them, and 19Lyds asked me if it was me, naturally due to the username. It's odd, as we both use the username 'NotSure' (hers is spelled 'Not*Sure*) in referrence to a characters name in a movie called 'Idiocracy'. BNB has been making an a$$ of himself accusing her of being me. If you thought he was disliked on this forum, boy, the members over there make what we did to him look like a love fest. I'm surprised they haven't given him the boot ATS solely based on the absolute total distraction he has become over there. Once he gets the boot there (which is inevitable), all he'll have left is the OFR. Over there, they'll drive him to commit suicide.

Imagine what the story he gives to the ladies, I am a father and I would blow a fuse if my daughter fell for his lines

One of these days, he WILL meet a father that feels like that, and it ain't gonna be pretty.
    I'll come up with something.
