probably wasn't happy with the low bids and wasn't willing to let it go at a loss... that's my educated guess.

No light has been seen. Are we really supposed to believe he (or a coin buddy of his) COULD do what NCS COULDN'T do? This kid is compulsive, and poison to the hobby. He didn't remove the listing for ethical reasons. He removed it for exactly the reason illini suggests.....low bidding, and he wasn't about to take a loss, then have to refund the $$ when it was found to be a cleaned POS. He realized just how far reaching the hand of the coin collecting community CAN reach. He will maybe someday send it to PCGS for grading? He knows what it is, and the only holder that will ever be in will be a Gennie, or a Capitol Plastics holder. He took a key-date coin (even with the print, it was a coin I would minded having for the right price...BEFORE he sent it to the land of unwanted coins), and ruined it for all of time.

If he really is trying to re-hab, then he'll post another youtube with WHAT was done to the coin, WHO did it (the coin is now doctored, and IF it was done in a way that it WOULD holder problem free, the guy needs to be hired by NCS), and actual images of the coin. But you know what? He won't. He's just trying to get back in the good graces, and he'll do it again and again.....like I said, the kid's compulsive, and he doesn't listen to anyone but himself. ATS, he claims he can't photo the coin properly due to not having proper equipment. Anyone that followed his escapades knows he DOES, as he ASKED what members used, then posted what he bought for equipment, and actually posted images of coins, namely his RP AGE, and his '95-W ASE....images that HE took. He didn't take the boards consensus advice before, and he certainly won't take it now....namely slowing down, and learning on his own HOW to become a collector.

If this coin's doctoring is so undetectable, and it sports "GEM BU properties", either the auction would have run it's course, or he would have sent it in for grading, through one of his many (as he claims) dealer friends.

Don't hold your breath....as I said before, a leopard does NOT change his spots. Normally, I am one to give a 'mulligan' when I think it's warranted. But this kid defied members with more years of experience than he's spent on this earth. He spat in the face of those that make a living in this hobby. He insulted those of us who, while learning something new every day, know we have SOOO much MORE to learn. Now he appeals to DW in a youtube video? He's appealed/begged before to be reinstated to a chat forum, namely this one. Don't be duped by this kid....remember, he thinks he's an actor. It's just another of his many charades.
    I'll come up with something.

if you don't believe his latest audio post, we can only speculate what BNB's real motivation was for pulling his auction. however, regardless of the motivation, pulling the auction was the right result and that is a good thing! moreover, if BNB does eventually resubmit his famous (or infamous?) 3-legger to PCGS or NGC that would be a good thing as well. while those actions do not completely right all of the wrongs in this case, and most folks will not be willing to just give the guy a "mulligan," such actions are without a doubt a step in the right direction, even if just a small step.

Yes, and the gun slinger who buried the one he shot in a gun fight was making a step in the right direction too, albeit a band aid on a broken arm, so to speak. The kid is no good. Just listen to him speak on his vids. Calling Obama, Barak and McCain, John! He's pompous, arrogant and full of sheet.

ok i was just wondering when a seller lists a coin for sale are they allowed to pull the item because the bids are not going up? it just makes me wonder if a person can list an item and after 5 or 6 days just pull it. Doesn't seem fair that there wasting the time of all those bidders, and do they have to pay a fee to ebay? Or can they just keep relisting it? thks ........

And, Thank You Mister Willis for letting it go on........and on..........and on.............................

We have learned how to behave well in public...and how not to.

We have learned about ethics.....how some posess them, and others, do not.

Mystery, hidden names...............cyber bullying.......Mob Rule..........The Salem Witch Trials.............The "BURN HER SHES A WITCH" scene from Monty Python.

Now......we often joke about it "If only our Coins could Talk.,.....can you imagine the story that three leg Buff is going to be able to tell!

In his 'heartfelt' appeal audio (can't even show his face, all of a sudden?), the title is "Update to the 3 Leg Buffalo Auction(For PCGS + Coin World)". Whats CW got to do with it? Did BNB's reputation preceed him and he made it to CW already???????

I don't know whether to image or whether to cry, it's so pathetic.

Ocho, thats the whole problem with this kid. IF his whole life, and more specifically, what he's really like in real life, wasn't pasted all over the internet, perhaps we who are his staunchest bashers, MIGHT give him a break. However, it's pretty plain to see that this ISN'T just for 'entertainment value', as he said ATS before he got bammed. This is how he is in real life. Would you really want the general public to see that you have been accused of being a stalker? This kid has real issues, and even though I am one of his staunchest detractors, I DO feel for him, as mentally, he's on shaky ground at best. A total idiot wouldn't have the chutzpah this kid has, so he has to have SOME smarts. While he DOES try hard to find his niche in life, he's got it so totally bassackwards, he just digs the hole deeper every time he opens his mouth.

Now, I know I have been VERY harsh (putting it mildly), but if the kid TRULY wants to stop, look, and listen, then he OUGHT to STOP referring to himself in the third person, STOP thinking his excrement smells like roses, START thinking about calming down (perhaps counseling), and perhaps find new people to hang out with. If he were my friend, and acted like this all the time (which apparently he does), I wouldn't be hanging out with him for long.....there's no telling how many 'scraps' he'd get into, and you can best bet HE would be starting them, but WOULDN'T be finishing them.

He was raised in Fairfield CT, not exactly where the Bloods and Crips hang out. Worked (allegedly) at his uncles high-end car dealership in Greenwich (it DOES exist, when I heard the name, in a post he made here, that got poofed, I called CT info and the dealership has 2 locations...high-end like Rolls Royce, Ferraris, etc), so if it was a family thing, then shame on the family for showing him that life is kill or be killed...it doesn't have to be 'he who dies with the most toys wins'. If it was learned partly due to peer pressure, then he does need to find new friends, ones that can accept him for WHO he is, not WHAT he is. He seems to have a need to prove himself to others, when he really needs to just prove himself to HIM. As nice as it would be to be a millionaire, most of us aren't, but that does NOT mean we aren't successful in other parts of life.

His appeal to DW is similar to his appeal to elitetrader.com, though, you'll notice distinct differences in his pleas to elitetrader.com, as evidenced by this plea, which is how he got in the soup to begin with (being full of himself) and this one, where he MIGHT realize that the BNB personna isn't going to get him anywhere. If you realize these are 6 months apart, it makes you wonder if it takes him that long to realize just MAYBE there's something wrong with his BNB approach.

The hobby DOES need younger people to step up so it can move forward, and it DOES need those people to be eager...but they need to be eager to LEARN, and LISTEN. It also requires you to 'close your mouth and open your ears' when necessary. IF he's 110% sincere, then he needs to re-invent himself. If you notice his collection, he doesn't know what it is to learn about one particular series, and learn to how to grade. He's got the 3 legger, an MS65 1885-CC Morgan, '95-W ASE....his photos of his collection showed key dates, not exactly how one gets involved in the hobby. How many started by filling out blue Whitman Lincoln folders? He is clearly in it for investment purposes...you heard him mention his 'bottom line' in his appeal to DW.

I'll offer this up, and hope he takes the advice: Get rid of all those youtube vids (those will be the death of you, JJC, and prospective employers DO look to the 'net nowadays...if I'm a Human Resources person and see those, best believe you WON'T be working for me. Secondly, look at the hobby as just that, a HOBBY. Pick a series...sure, common date coins with little upside may SEEM boring, but when you finish a set with uniformity, there's a sense of reward. It will also get you to learn how to grade for YOURSELF, instead of relying on a piece of plastic to tell you what it is (too many dealers are just like that...couldn't grade a coin if their life depended on it...but give them a greysheet and a slab, and boom, they are a dealer). When you learn to grade for yourself, and buy the right coin, you just may very well realize more $$ when you go to sell it. You can't PLAN on just buying at $XX, and turn around and sell it for $XXX (it does happen, but it happens to those that have studied their series in depth...people like Stewart Blay, gsaguy, saintguru...ALL members here, all collectors, and NOT dealers...their collections showed them a VERY nice return....because they made and put the time into it to learn and make the best decision based on what they LEARNED, NOT because someone TOLD them what to buy.

If there is ANY hope, you have to do it NOW, and again, start by dumping the youtube vids...they DO NOT help your case one bit. Learn to refer to yourself as 'I' or 'me', instead of talking about yourself in the third person. Take this for what it's worth, from one of your biggest detractors. Stop the nonsense, re-join the human race, and become a normal person. There's nothing wrong with chasing your dreams, but at the end of the day, reality is still there, and right now, your reality isn't reality, but fantasy. If you chase your dream, and can't quite catch it, that doesn't mean you failed; actually it's quite the opposite. Re-channel your efforts, kid. Treat others as you want to be treated. It might make all the difference in the world for you. But, at your age, you have to start now...you aren't getting any younger.

JJC, I DARE you to disprove my statement 'leopards can't change their spots'. Prove me wrong, kid...please.

edit for a more succint statement:

    This just came to mind...

As Dean Wormer so eloquently put it to Flounder, "Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life". In your case, being an arrogant, self-centered know-it-all is no way to go through life. I'm NOT knocking you, but rather trying to get you to see the light. It's not too late.
    I'll come up with something.
