Wow, if only I was rich--look what Steve Hart just picked up on a buying trip!

Mint 1960 Topps rack packs. The first year Topps produced rack packs. Even the holes are unpunched.

Hoarding silver and collecting history
Doesn't Manny own a rack with Yaz on the front? It may be a cello, can't remember.
Edited to add: a Red Corvette perhaps?
I think the racks were more thrilling!!!
<< <i>When I first laid eyes on these the excitement reminded me of when I first saw my high-school girlfriend's naked body back in '73.

She wasn't hot, summer? When guys on here start talking about packs being more thrilling than an ATTRACTIVE female's body, well...I just wonder if they've been chewing too much wax pack gum.

Always plenty of PSA-graded cards in my ebay store -- https://ebay.com/str/thelumbercompanysportscards

I would trade the Corvette for the 3 of them and rip one, lol.

Mike asked Curt aka bbcemporium how/where he picks up his stuff.
Well, if go to BBCEx "blog" - he chronologs his buying trips - ya just can't beat this guy - not only does he sell but he lets ya in - a bit - on the story behind the buy.

BUYING TRIP DAY ONE
We made 3 stops today and made purchases at each stop! The first stop netted us a 1960 Topps baseball cello box from the second series. One of the packs even had a Yaz RC showing on top. We also bought 3 unopened rack packs from 1960 (second series again). Cool rack packs that still look like they never saw daylight and are as clean as could be! Our next stop wasn't too far from the first one and we bought a near complete 1934 Goudey set. Every card was graded by PSA as NM-MT 8's. It included mostly all of the HOF'ers and 1 of the Gehrigs. All high grade cards in PSA 8 holders!
Our final stop was in Brooklyn and was mostly just junk wax. Bought several cases and then finished the day. Early tomorrow we are looking at a bunch of sets from the 50's and 60's, included some 1951 Bowman sets with nice Mantle rookies. Hopefully, they end up in our truck! After that it's out to Long Island to pick up a few hundred junk wax, rack, cello and vending cases. From there, we are headed to Baltimore to look at a childhood collection of late 50's and early 60's cards. Will be back then to let you know how it all worked out! Thanks! Steve
So, they're 2nd series - a shot at a Yaz RC.
I remember that Mr Mint found a load of 60Ts unopened quite a few years back - these could be 'resells' from that lot.

Clearly. LOL. Bonus points for the first person to identify this quote WITHOUT using the Google.
"What about that kid, sitting down, opening a book right now in a branch of the local library and finding pictures of pee-pees and wee-wees in The Cat in the Hat and The Five Chinese Brothers. Doesn't he deserve better? Look, if you think this is about overdue fines and missing books, you'd better think again. This is about that kid's right to read a book without getting his mind warped. Or maybe that turns you on, X... Maybe that's how you get your kicks... You and your goodtime buddies... I've got a flash for you, joy boy. Partytime is over."

Yeah Jeff ... Manny has one with the YAZ Rookie and two others orange Rookie cards on top.
Nice pickup Steve ... would like that one with Billy Martin on top!

<< <i>thats Bookman, from Seinfeld >>
Nice work. I need to switch things up a little. I rely too much on Seinfeld reruns for my humor fix.
Perosnally like the Face Wilhelm the most, but the Martin would sell for the most at auction

Doug, looks like Steve is in your neck of the woods! You might want to call him and tell him about our "find" with Vinny. It is probably still sitting out on the curb!

<< <i>I like Frank Howard and thought that pack looked to be in slightly better shape than the other two. It was a tough call. >>
Plus the centering is a little off on the Billy Martin pack and the third pack doen't look nearly as nice as the middle, nice buy

Amazing rack.
Great choice on the Howard.

OK confusion!
I know Nick asked Curt aka BBCEmporium on his techniques regarding the Ted Williams collection
And Steve Hart is BBCExchange selling the racks
Are we mixing up blogs here with the wrong people?
Or is there an underlying tie together I'm unaware of
carry on
<< <i>Anyone know the cards on the backs ? >>
Good question! I'm guessing since Steve didn't mention the players on the back, that must mean it's nobody significant. Would still like to know though.

I don't know what it is, but this older unopened stuff just "makes me want to do things I don't want to do" (semi quote from a movie)
