Tough call on silver eagles. Seems the ones that do tone naturally go crazy doing it. Yeah, nice pics - what ya shootin with? How about some pics of the same coin at a slight angle.

It looks very close to the ASE that I stuffed in my Vacuum Cleaner bag for six months.

    My vote is AT.

This is a borderline case to me. So I have to go with AT. To me, if a coin exhibits both natural and artificial toning elements to it, it's a net AT.

AT!! You can litteraly see the chemical drips on the reverse. I assume if you look at the side of the coin in the ridges you will see stains, and what appear to be more drips.
On another note, do you guys ever see this other sellers items, they are so AT is just stupid. Why oh why do people bid at all

SAEs can tone splotchy, but I haven't seen it like that.
I would think that is AT and I would not bid over silver melt - dip cost

To each their own though...someone might like the selsun blue look image

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

a couple years ago, I had a similar one bagged for environmental damage

When I got it back, I gave it a quick dip

    the black spots stayed black

it went from slightly ugly to extremely ugly

    I vote AT
reverse has hints of liquid pooling from th N of United to the left wing tip
the obverse got too much of whatever powder they used, especially near the T of Liberty

NT. These things tone wildly and unpredictably.

If one cannot read that coin as AT, I strongly suggest you invest no money in toned coins. It is a poor job at that. Cheers, RickO

Good catch kajdg657. Did you do a manual search?

Whether or not it is "market acceptable", I wouldn't touch it. A coin from 1989 shouldn't look like that in my opinion.

Yes but oddly enough, there are only 4 coins that were sold with 1989 and toned in their header
