Man I just checked out some blasters of 08 Update, I would really hold off if I was you. The auto odds are 1:405 packs...sure it is a nice checklist, but for
the price of 16 retail packs, you can have 24 hobby packs AND much better autos odds. Check with some of the big on line dealers for update..should
be around 40-45 a box. Of course if you buy the retail you will have it right now.

Would we all be in broke if the 24 hour walmart had a hobby box vending machine?

I'm glad I picked up the 20 loose target packs, because these Walmart blaster really pissed me off. I can't believe out of 8 blasters only three of them had short prints.

I've noticed the Walmart blasters are horridly skimpy on SP's. The 14 card packs have been pretty good and have yielded 80% of my SP's as well as 2 black refractors.

Bad! Yesterday I found 10 packs at a K-MART. $2.99+tax a pack. They were packaged
in a cardboard pack. Took 5 minutes to get to em. And there were just 2 SPs. total, and nothing else other then the same stuff. Also there was 1 blaster box. Nothing, no SPs, or anything good. Bad Retail day for DAVE. K-MART BAD.

fyi, the super sp's are available in every type of pack. mine came in a retail 8/24 box.

Man, some of you guys (really one or two in mind) are out of control. I think you are causing Topps to increase production every year, thus watering down the ink pool. Please stop buying! Now for a more serios question; are the Super SP's mixed in all boxes or are we finding that they are only available in the early boxes?

I don't know about the super SP's cause I have yet to even sniff one, but I do know that crap is available in all kinds of packs..hobby, retail, jumbos...etc

My 2009 total spent right now is $218.88, plus the $75 or so I spent on the one hobby box. I think I've gotten some pretty good deals so far, and made some good trades. Nowhere near a base set, but I'm at about 50% on the chromes, 30% on the refs, around 10 blacks including David Price and Pujols, the Conor Jackson SSP, and one auto, a Gil McDougald blue ink. Feeling pretty good about limiting myself to one box this year! Not much quantity, but the quality is there.

Interesting cards & concept of the Heritage issue. I like everything about them except for the atrocious chrome/refractor/shiny cards. I've just never been keen on them. Good to see a lot of folks enjoying new issues...

Topps heritage has been a meld of today and yesterday. Chrome is king today with topps. I think the refractors and black refractors looks really sharp.

My rule every year is if they don't have stated odds on the pack, they don't go in my master set.
