Tried to get the family members in on this... Either not interested, or can't afford the $1200

At least once...
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
I would like to own one someday, but not at the current price.

"None - it's stupid" is the category for you.

You fell into that one.
When the missus gets started you better believe that the work address qualifies as a separate household until the storm blows over.

They thank you for your generous gifts.
I ordered five through family and co-workers.
But with gold jumping up today, if it keeps on going up, $1200 is gonna look cheap for these...
Today (Friday) I noticed that gold had jumped more than $40 to $900 so I decided to buy (order number 30870XXX) According to my receipt--backordered until Feb 6
1) None - It's a silly program since there are no published mintage limits
2) None - No spare cash for things like this
3) None - My wife would really like a new house and although she is not going to get one I can't justify the UHR purchase right now
4) None - Gotta save for the kids college now since the 529's are 1/2 of what they were a year ago
....etc.
Guess how many I bought?

<< <i>I am in for one. I think that the lousy economy coupled with the Mint's possible inability to procure coin blanks might make the no mintage limit a moot point. HM >>
Interesting point. By law does the mint have to stop at some point in time, such as the end of 2009, regardless? Would the mint be allowed to continue minting coins with the 2009 date on them after 2009, and even if they did would they fall to the status of Restrikes?
