What Sort of Changes Will the RYK-Longacre-Russ Consortium Make at CU?

CoinosaurusCoinosaurus Posts: 9,652 ✭✭✭✭✭
In another thread, it is proposed that the RYK-Longacre-Russ Consortium make a run at CU. What kind of changes might be in order?

I assume this would include plush offices for all the forum researchers, with an ample staff of Consuelas at their beck and call. Naturally branch offices would be opened close to all the important archives, while the Newport office would be expanded to include a custom bindery for the newly launched PCGS imprint. A "post of the day" program would be initiated, the award being a certificate with which any coin could be automatically upgraded by one point. Conversely, all modern coins submitted for upgrades will automatically be downgraded by one point in order to discourage anyone from collecting that sort of thing.

Which one of them would be "The Man" image

With all due respect to my Consortium partners, I, of course, will be The Man. I have spent far too much time toiling for The Man, so I would like to see what it's like to actually be The Man.

As a corporate benefit, my partner, RYK, would give free mammograms to all of the staff. Russ, of course, would be in charge of the ABC Program (Above and Beyond the Call), which is the reward program for the minions on the staff. The award will simply be an AH Kennedy. Your very own Longacre would only require an overstuffed chair, dark paneling in his office, and a telephone with a hard link to Wolfeboro, NH, to directly consult with his beloved QDB on all things numismatic. image

Sorry, Longy. Russ and I, who are accustomed to being The Man™, have voted and decided that you will continue to not be The Man™ in the new operation. You just do not have the experience. Your office will be a cubicle, just like everyone else has, and the speed dial on the telephone will only get you the person at Stack's in charge of shipping. We are going to run a perk-free, lean, mean operation. No wood panel, no stuffed (let alone overstuffed) chairs, no free mammograms or AH Kennedy halves. Oh, we are going to have your CU forum membership revoked, too. We do not want you spending company time loafing here on the forum. image

Heck with this. Longacre should start his own CA-CU, and put virtual stickers on all the threads that are on topic. You can show who be "da man" after that!
